Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 110 Lesson
Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Lesson
Wan Chu’er purposely fell a few steps behind, sensing that Jiang Kechu was seething with suppressed rage, and that it might explode at any moment. It was safer to keep some distance.
When they reached the car, Jiang Kechu opened the passenger door with a heavy gaze, glanced at Wan Chu’er who was carefully observing him, signaling her to get in. Then he himself walked around to the driver’s side.
When Wan Chu’er approached the car, she gently closed the passenger door, opened the rear door instead, and sat directly in the back seat.
Seeing her actions through the rearview mirror, Jiang Kechu’s eyes darkened as if they were about to drip ink, the veins on his temples jumped wildly, and his aura became even more terrifying.
As soon as she sat down, she felt a sharp pain when she accidentally touched her waist. Wan Chu’er gasped, tried to stand up, but her head hit the roof, and she fell back into her seat, grimacing in pain.
Jiang Kechu closed his eyes and, with a dark face, got out of the car, and took a cushion from the trunk, tossing it to her.
"Lean on this."
His words were caring, yet he insisted on keeping a stern face.
Always saying one thing and meaning another.
Wan Chu’er pouted, took the cushion, seated herself comfortably, and then said, "I’m okay, thanks."
Jiang Kechu slowly started the car and headed towards the apartment complex where Wan Chu’er lived.
Upon arrival, Wan Chu’er endured the pain and shifted her way out bit by bit.
She didn’t feel it during the fight, but after sitting in the car for a while, her whole body started to ache even more.
Seeing her struggle, Jiang Kechu sighed, walked up to the car door, and extended a hand.
Looking at that familiar yet foreign hand, Wan Chu’er hesitated. Those hands seemed to have a magic power that made her very eager to hold on, but reason told her that she must not touch.
She gritted her teeth and scoffed, muttering, "Who’s being all delicate here."
She then jumped out of the car with determination.
"Ah—" Her leg went weak, and she fell straight out of the car.
Jiang Kechu, who was already extremely frustrated, could not help but laugh when he saw her fall to the ground. He looked at Wan Chu’er lying there, sneered, and said:
"Who’s pretending here? Who’s fragile here? You were so fierce, fighting three at once! So why are you lying here now? Get up then."
Wan Chu’er lay on the ground unable to move, feeling as though her legs were going to break and her back was going to snap, only to hear Jiang Kechu reveling in her misfortune, which made her furious.
After all, who was she in this sorry state for? Because of whom? If she had just grabbed his hand, would she have fallen? It’s all for his reputation!
Jiang Kechu did it on purpose, deliberately watching her fall to the ground!
He clearly could have stretched out a hand to pull or support her.
She turned her head and glared at Jiang Kechu.
"Uncle Jiang, what’s wrong with fighting? I didn’t ask you to. Seeing me lying on the ground like this, are you particularly happy? Or are you just not feeling good inside and taking it out on me?"
Having said that, she regretted it. Why was she picking an argument with Jiang Kechu?
He was just kicked by someone; why add insult to injury? Now he is the vulnerable one.
Sure enough, after hearing Wan Chu’er’s words, Jiang Kechu’s face grew even darker. He yanked her up from the ground, holding her like a little chicken, and took her upstairs.
"Ah, ah, ah, let go, it hurts, hurts, hurts!"
Chuchu cried out in pain for him to let go, but Jiang Kechu acted as if he hadn’t heard and remained unmoved, which made Chuchu so angry she couldn’t help but start cursing at him.
"You jerk!
You’re kicking me when I’m down!
You’ve had a rough time elsewhere and now you want to take it out on me! What kind of man does that?
And you call yourself a People’s Officer, more like a total bastard!
..."
When they reached the door, Jiang Kechu took out a key and opened it directly. Chuchu looked closely and sure enough, it was her key. She had no idea when this jerk Jiang Kechu had gotten hold of her key.
After entering, Jiang Kechu threw Chuchu onto the sofa.
"Ah!" Chuchu covered her waist and cried out in pain.
Jiang Kechu had already checked and knew that Chuchu just had some superficial injuries, perhaps a muscle strain at worst, so he wasn’t worried. The anger that he had been suppressing burst out.
"Look at yourself, what do you look like!
A female hooligan? When did you learn to fight with thugs? Aren’t you trained in Martial Arts? Those were just a couple of small-time thugs, and you couldn’t even handle them, ending up hurting yourself like this!"
Was that his way of caring about her? Disgusted that she got beaten up? Chuchu felt a stir in her heart, bearing the pain as she sat up to look at Jiang Kechu.
Watching Chuchu with those watery and innocent big eyes that just looked so unfairly blamed, Jiang Kechu hesitated for a moment.
Seizing the opportunity, Chuchu quickly said, "Uncle Jiang, I was wrong, please don’t stoop to my level. I can take a beating, it looks worse than it is. You should go back, too, we’re all tired from the day."
She really wanted to get rid of Jiang Kechu, otherwise he could scold her for an hour. She was sore all over and just wanted to go to sleep, lacking the energy or patience to be lectured.
Hearing Chuchu’s words, Jiang Kechu’s eyebrows twitched upward. He was clearly furious, but he put on a calm façade and said slowly, "Since you’re calling me uncle, then on behalf of your father, I shall give you a good talking-to."
Chuchu let out a wail. Jiang Kechu, you sly fox!
If you didn’t want to be called ’Uncle,’ just say so, not ’educating me on my dad’s behalf.’
Chuchu caught a glimpse of the sentence on the wall across from her, "The overly rigid break easily, while the truly gentle remain undefeated."
An idea struck her, recalling how the more she defied Jiang Kechu in her previous life, the less he would budge; but if she occasionally showed vulnerability, nine times out of ten, Jiang Kechu would indulge her.
So, Chuchu blinked her eyes, sniffled, and choked up, "Brother Jiang, I was wrong. I won’t call you uncle again. I’m really in pain all over, I’m so tired and sleepy, I really need to rest, please."
After saying that, she looked at him with a pitiful expression.
Suddenly confronted with this, the rage in Jiang Kechu seemed to get stuck and then slowly started to dissipate.
He looked at the disheveled Chuchu and thought about her pitiful background, his heart softened despite himself, and with a stern face, he said, "Don’t do such things again in the future. Remember that you are a top student of the first university, you should study hard and after graduating, give back to society."
Chuchu immediately nodded like a pecking hen: "You’re right."
Seeing her like this, Jiang Kechu sighed, feeling as though this girl was making his hair turn white with frustration.
After a while, he didn’t feel right just walking away like this, so he cleared his throat, furrowed his brows, and asked, "Where does it hurt badly? I should take a look. If you go to sleep like this, it will hurt even more when you wake up tomorrow."
"Ah?" Chuchu’s eyes widened. Realizing what he meant, she quickly waved her hands, "It doesn’t hurt, not necessary."
Looking at her act as if she had to guard against him like a wolf, the corner of Jiang Kechu’s eyes twitched, "Aren’t you calling me uncle? What are you afraid of?"
