RE: Perverted Sugar Daddy System-Chapter 300: Crowd Control
Following my display and exit, Sky took back control of the surroundings.
Using a mix of soberness and gratitude towards me, he shifted the night's conversation from me to himself. The main agenda for tonight's gathering soon popped up.
On the surface, it seemed like Sky had called for the party to celebrate his purchase of a really luxurious yacht. But anyone who had taken a look at Sky's history would know that things couldn't be so simple.
Sky Warthag didn't celebrate his first sports car, his first supercar, or even his first private jet. Sure, a yacht was on a whole other level, but what about his nearly $200 million mansion?
He didn't celebrate that either.
Personally, I had been interested in what extra agenda Sky had planned for tonight, Had because I no longer cared.
Standing at the back and digging slice after slice from the little plate with a cake on it, I listened as Sky excited the crowd.
He stoked their curiosity, building it up—and then he let go of the news I had already known well before coming to this party.
"...Many people don't know this, but Amber and I learned under the same mentor," Sky said, holding out a hand and smiling as Amber once again took the spotlight and this time climbed onto the stage.
Like they had just gotten through something complex, they hugged and kissed each other, smiles on their faces. Then, turning back to the crowd, they stood side by side as Sky resumed speaking.
"For four years, we studied under Master Kavil. And for the past two years, we've been using all our acquired knowledge to good use. We've dedicated our time to our passion, not wanting to let our master down. And today, I'm happy to announce that our efforts have been recognized.
Amber and I have been invited to join the Houjtin Work Group as senior members."
Crack!
It wasn't expected, but someone dropped their glass out of shock. Soon after, everyone began clapping, disbelief etched across their faces. But the reveal was far from over.
"Recently, the Houjtin Group has launched a deep development program. The details of this program are classified, but what I can say is that this is one of the biggest projects the group has undertaken since its creation.
Select members within the group have been picked to oversee the project. Not only are Amber and I part of this project but I've been selected as the leader of this group."
Once more, another round of applause erupted. This time, I placed my plate to the side and joined in, making the resounding sound. After all, what Sky had announced was something I was genuinely happy about.
The Houjtin Group was a monster. Their financial power ranged into over $100 billion—and this was just 2002.
With power like that, I stayed clear.
For power like that, one could only imagine the deep accumulation of its force and influence. And that was a shiver-inducing thought.
For a group I had only ever heard of and immediately ignored, it baffled me how Sky and Amber had managed to walk their way in.
After Amber had informed me of the party, I had done a background check on the pair—only to discover that neither of their parents had the acumen or resources to elevate their children to such heights.
A big reason behind their climb was Master Kavil. But that man was also another mysterious subject—one on the same level as the Houjtin Group, where he was an executive member.
Finding all this out, how Amber and Sky had achieved such a feat—it left me thirsting for the knowledge they carried in their heads. But more than that, it opened a door for me...
The chance to infiltrate the Houjtin Group and learn more about the so-called secret development project.
Nadia had done some digging of her own, and it turned out the Houjtin Group was one of several companies alongside Regan Bastos and his billionaire friends suddenly engaging in massive land projects.
Considering Regan had already had his eyes on me, it was risky to try anything in Los Angeles.
So far, I believe for whatever reason, Regan was passively trying to deal with me. Rather than shake the hornet's nest and have them actively seek me out, I took the option presented to me by Sky.
After all, Sky's so-called secret development project, though undocumented—felt connected to Regan's actions on Isol Street, given its inception time and scale.
More than three groups of billionaires don't just randomly wake up and decide to start massive, super-secret projects at the same time. Something was up.
Sky's reveal of his and Amber's future caused a massive shift in the party's atmosphere and proceedings.
First, there was the thunderous applause. Then came the speech from both man and woman. And then, when they descended from the podium, came the flocks of congratulations.
Amber hadn't been wrong—things had indeed taken a turn for her. As she moved, individuals from both social circles gathered around her. With a polite smile, she made small talk with all of them.
Of course, other than the two of them, there was one other person receiving attention.
That person was me.
And as for how I dealt with the attention I was getting....
"Sorry, Mr. Lawson is in a very delicate state right now. He's centering his mind and aligning with his goals."
To the best of my knowledge, first they had been security at the ramp. Then they were aggressors. And now—they were my security.
If you're wondering how I turned them into my little minions, sorry, I mean big, well.... check out this line,
"How about you both work for me? After this evening's display, you're both getting fired. No one is going to believe you crying about me being so strong that you were practically useless."
There were a few additional titbits added to those words, but that was the core of it.
With one of them having his hand in a sling, they stood behind me, ensuring I enjoyed privacy as I slowly sampled the meals at the table. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
