Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 186: Before The Summit
Chapter 186: Before The Summit
The paladin led them through the city, and of course, Rael had to store his SUV in his inventory.
But even so, the walk was pleasant. The streets were filled to the brim with people of all shapes and sizes. Multiple races were mixed in, even some friendly monsters were present.
They had their own stalls set up as today was one of the higher-traffic days because of the summit. So it was safe to say they were going to make a lot of money.
Maybe I should set something up as well…? Rael mused as he stared at the back of the paladin.
There were 20 paladins in total, and they were called the Holy Knights. Each one was a powerhouse above level 500.
Not that I can’t one-tap him though. Rael snickered when all of a sudden, Zafira tugged at his sleeve.
“You’re thinking of doing something mischievous again, aren’t you?” she asked, causing his brows to twitch.
“I don’t know what you mean…” Rael trailed off with a slight smile as he reached for her hand, gently intertwining his fingers with hers. “Got anything up your sleeve for this summit?”
Zafira shook her head as a sly smile appeared on her face. “I already told you most of what I had planned yesterday… you didn’t forget because of—”
“Nope,” Rael interjected, making sure she didn’t say anything naughty in front of the others. “Then we’ll proceed as planned.”
At the same time, he tapped the air a few times, sending a message to Zafira so the others couldn’t tell what they were talking about.
Zafira paused for a moment, glancing at him with a complex look.
Rael sighed, glancing down.
“Rael…” Zafira muttered. “Just don’t talk like you did with the former barbarian chieftain, okay? These guys really take it seriously.”
“Of course. I’ll behave, my queen,” Rael replied teasingly.
With that, they finally arrived at some sort of luxurious manor right beside Elarin’s royal castle.
“This is where we part ways, King and Queen of Celestara,” the paladin announced, bowing respectfully.
But just as he was about to leave, Rael stopped him.
“How many of you Holy Knights are going to be present today?” Rael asked.
The paladin turned around, narrowing his eyes as his golden hair fluttered in the wind.
“Six.”
Hearing that, Rael’s brows twitched. “Expecting trouble?”
However, the paladin no longer replied, and with another bow, finally walked away.
But that was enough of an indicator for Rael to know that something big was happening.
For reference, there were only three paladins present during the coronation of the King of the Holy Kingdom.
So a big threat. Maybe one of the evil religions is going to make a move… or maybe… Rael trailed off as he began walking to the manor ahead.
Of course, for the time being, it was only the four of them. Zafira was with him, while Aria and Evelyn tagged along as well.
As for Linlin and Qiqi, they went to explore, and Dax… Rael had no idea where that man-child went.
I just really hope those two don’t do anything stupid given their history with this kingdom… Rael thought, worried.
It seemed like they had a manor that was separate from the rest of the rulers, since the only people inside were the maids and butlers.
And of course, when they finally arrived before the manor’s doors, they swung open, revealing a row of maids and butlers, followed by the head butler standing in the very middle.
“Greetings, rulers of Celestara. My name is Alfred, and I will be your head butler during your stay in the holy capital, Elarin.” The head butler introduced himself with a dignified bow.
Alfred… cliché.
“Nice to meet you, Alfred,” Rael said with a smirk. “Could you lead me and my wife to our rooms? Make sure these girls get nice rooms as well.”
“With pleasure,” Alfred replied, and began leading each of them to their rooms.
It took a few minutes, but finally, Rael found himself in a giant room that had a pool, a heart-shaped bed, and even a wide selection of dishes already prepared.
He whistled in amazement. “They sure went all out.”
“Well, we’re important people,” Zafira remarked as she approached the pool and dipped her foot inside.
She shivered, bringing her foot back and glancing at him with an embarrassed expression.
“It’s a bit cold…”
“Right…” Rael chuckled and decided to head over to the food table.
The summit would start in roughly an hour, and until then, he’d enjoy himself.
But first, he sent a single text to Zareth.
To his surprise, Zareth replied instantly.
<Zareth’Null: My intelligence network in Elarin was scrambled a few days ago. I couldn’t get in contact with anyone. But today, I received some intel that the Evangelists are going to make themselves known sometime during the summit.>
Rael’s brows furrowed as he took a bite out of the chicken.
<Zareth’Null: While I didn’t directly state your involvement, I’m sure they deduced the fact that only rulers can so leisurely get in contact with them. My best advice for you is to be careful. The Evangelists have techniques that let them mimic the appearance of people you know. Anyway, I have to get going, as this is the perfect moment to spy on the other rulers. Good luck.>
Rael sighed, but he had already expected something like this. He also knew what tricks they’d pull, but he was ready for them.
Nonetheless, he finished his food and got ready.
After all…
In an hour, he was going to milk the other rulers.
Not literally.
