Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten-Chapter 276: The White-Haired Girl
Lin Zhengran lifted the blanket, and He Qing and Jiang Xueli naturally got into bed, sitting on either side of him.
Each of them clung to one of Lin Zhengran’s arms.
Han Wenwen leaned her back against Lin Zhengran’s chest.
After exchanging a glance with the girls, Lin Zhengran asked curiously, “Are you three sleepy yet?”
All three silently shook their heads.
Lin Zhengran nodded. “Yeah, it’s still a bit early. I’ll keep reading then. If you three get tired, let me know and we’ll go to sleep. If not, just lean on me and rest for a while.”
The three girls nodded again like pecking chicks.
And so, on the double bed, Lin Zhengran sat in the middle, holding Little Fox in his arms while flipping through his book.
Little He Qing and Jiang Xueli leaned on his shoulders, also looking at the book.
Eight eyes stared at a book only one person could actually understand—quite an amusing scene.
Han Wenwen asked, “What’s this book about? I’ve been staring at it for a while and still can’t get it.”
Little He Qing swayed her head gently while leaning on Lin Zhengran’s shoulder. “Seems like it’s about natural disasters? But it’s really hard to understand.”
Jiang Xueli blinked a few times, used to it by now.
“Only Zhengran can make sense of this stuff. So many obscure characters, and the text’s all crammed together. I used to see these kinds of books in bookstores and wonder what kind of genius would buy them. Now I know.”
She paused. “It was Zhengran buying them all.”
Lin Zhengran smirked. Ever since the system told him he’d be able to control the wind and rain in the future,
he’d been dying to know the maximum scope of what he could control and how different levels could affect the world—so he bought these to study.
“If you can’t understand it, don’t force yourselves. But you all smell amazing after your baths… maybe I should stop reading and just hold you while we sleep.”
The three girls immediately blushed and stayed silent, each showing their own kind of shyness.
Lin Zhengran closed the book. “That settles it—no more reading. Let’s just sleep. By the way, do you really have to sleep in pajamas? Wearing clothes to bed isn’t good for your health.”
This time, the three girls responded in unison: “Of course we do!”
Lin Zhengran looked at their shy faces and was clearly teasing them on purpose.
The Next Morning
The three girls worked together to move all their stuff into the car.
Little He Qing once again took the front passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt, while Jiang Xueli and Han Wenwen sat in the back.
Lin Zhengran asked, “Got everything?”
“All set!” they answered together.
“Let’s go home!” The car pulled out of the parking area and headed back to Zitong City.
At that very same moment, in a small unknown hair salon in Zitong City,
a long-haired beauty was sitting in a salon chair.
The hairdresser enthusiastically held out a color sample book. “Pretty girl, judging by your age, I bet you’re a freshman this year? What color do you want to dye your hair?”
The girl took the sample book and thought to herself—what color would he like?
Seeing her hesitation, the stylist suggested a few options.
“I recommend these. Especially this yellow—it’s a hot color right now. Young girls look great with it. And you’ve got such a pretty face—it would really suit you.”
The girl thought for a moment. Yellow didn’t feel like the right fit.
Someone else by his side would probably pull it off better.
After considering a bit longer, she unexpectedly pointed to one: white. “This one. Silver white.”
The stylist blinked and studied her face, then smiled.
“Sure! Silver-white long hair usually needs a super high beauty level to pull off. I don’t usually recommend it. But you’re gorgeous—you can definitely handle it. And if you don’t like it, we can always change it later.”
The girl showed little emotion. “Let’s try it then.”
Several hours later, after the dyeing and styling was done, she sat in front of the mirror again.
Looking at her brand-new reflection, she was slightly surprised.
The stylist and other customers in the shop also turned to look—after all, silver-white hair was rare and eye-catching.
Most people couldn’t pull off that color.
Curious eyes watched to see the result. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
But this young girl? Not only did it suit her—it made her beauty pop even more!
Gasps of surprise filled the room.
“She’s so pretty! I’ve seen others try silver-white hair, but none of them looked this good. Guess you really need the right face shape.”
“Seriously, she looks mixed-race or something.”
“She’s stunning.”
The stylist was shocked too. “Girl, this color suits you way more than I expected. You look like a whole new person! What do you think?”
The girl smiled for once. “Not bad. I’m pretty happy with it.”
After paying, the girl walked out of the salon under everyone’s gaze.
She stood on the street and took a deep breath.
The breeze made her silver-white hair sway softly.
From her coat pocket, she pulled out a photo of a boy.
Her lips curved into a smile, a faint blush with a yandere edge spreading across her cheeks.
“I’ll be seeing you again soon, Lin Zhengran. Just thinking about seeing you every day at university, getting to talk to you… it makes me so happy. I just hope school starts soon.”
As countless passersby stared in amazement, she walked slowly into the distance.
And just after she left that street, Lin Zhengran’s SUV happened to be driving past in the background.
In the Car
Han Wenwen asked He Qing, “Xiao Qingqing, are you still able to catch a ride home at this hour?”
Little He Qing replied, “Yes, it’s still early. There are still buses.”
“Good.”
Soon, they arrived at the entrance of Han Wenwen’s residential complex.
Lin Zhengran helped her take down her luggage. The Little Fox pulled her suitcase and looked at Lin Zhengran.
“Brother Zhengran, I’m heading up now?”
“Mm. Rest well at home. Call me if anything comes up.”
Han Wenwen nodded. “The college entrance exam results should be out in a couple of days. I’ll tell Brother Zhengran as soon as they’re out.”
“Alright.”
Then, with both Jiang Xueli and He Qing watching, she tiptoed and gave Lin Zhengran a kiss on the cheek.
Both girls were stunned. She kisses him this often now? Even saying goodbye like that?
The Little Fox said sweetly, “Then I’m heading up. See you tomorrow, Brother Zhengran.”
“Tomorrow won’t work. I’ll be tied up at the company for a few days once I’m back.”
The Little Fox pouted—‘Company’ probably meant going to see Jiang Jingshi, right?
Unhappy, she said, “Then another day. I’ll call you tomorrow.”
“Calling’s fine.”
“Xiao Qingqing, Lili—see you guys at home!”
After sending off Han Wenwen, they dropped off Jiang Xueli too.
Lili had just planned to head home normally,
but after seeing Han Wenwen kiss him, she couldn’t not kiss him too—so she gave Lin Zhengran a kiss and headed home, delighted.
Waving while dragging her suitcase, she called out: “Zhengran, Xiao Qingqing—see you in a few days!”
The Last Stop: Little He Qing
Lin Zhengran sat back in the car, and the obedient Little He Qing was still in the front passenger seat.
Lin Zhengran looked over at her.
She knew she could still catch a ride home now, but...
Lin Zhengran patted her head and asked with a smile, “You going home by car today?”
Little He Qing bit her lip, blushing, and shook her head. She knew Lin Zhengran was teasing her.
“I’m not going…”
Lin Zhengran asked, “Not going to tell them?”
Little He Qing whispered, “As long as you’re with me… that’s enough.”
Lin Zhengran remembered—tomorrow was her birthday. “Then let’s go buy a cake. I’ll spend midnight with you to celebrate.”
“Mm…”
He drove toward the city center.
Meanwhile, Han Wenwen and Jiang Xueli—back home now—both felt jealous at nearly the same time.
As close sisters, of course they remembered tomorrow was He Qing’s birthday. But since it was her eighteenth birthday,
even though no one said it out loud, they all understood:
each of them would get a birthday with Lin Zhengran,
so tonight, they wouldn’t interrupt.
