Pretending to Cultivate in Kindergarten-Chapter 270: Wish
Jiang Jingshi's kiss was careful and delicate.
Even though she was the one nervous, it somehow felt like she was comforting Lin Zhengran.
After the kiss, the vice president of Zhengshi Company, her oval face blushing, leaned against Lin Zhengran's chest.
She stayed like that for quite a while.
Lin Zhengran asked, “Has the company been busy these past two days?”
“Not really, just some trivial stuff,” she replied. “It’s all because of those news reports after I was discharged. But ever since you handed me that mysterious ‘offering’ last time, I’ve been handling work much more efficiently. It’s been smooth sailing.”
“You’ve worked hard, Jingshi.”
Jiang Jingshi squinted her gentle eyes slightly with a smile. “It’s not hard at all. Just getting a hug from you makes all my fatigue disappear.”
Their time hugging under the moonlight wasn’t long.
Jiang Jingshi’s phone started ringing — another company matter.
She said goodbye to Lin Zhengran, “Zhengzheng, I’m heading off. We’ve got a meeting at the company tomorrow morning.”
Lin Zhengran gently cupped her face, not questioning whether this long trip was necessary. He only said with concern, “Drive safe on your way back.”
“Mhm. You enjoy yourself too.”
“Where’s your car? I’ll walk you there.”
“No need, it’s just over there. Pan Lin’s still waiting for me in the car. You go on back,” she said, pointing at a small road off in the distance.
Lin Zhengran spotted the familiar Rolls-Royce.
Jiang Jingshi reluctantly pulled away from his arms. “I’m going. Bye-bye.”
She stood on tiptoes and gave Lin Zhengran a goodbye kiss, then walked away, looking back three times in every few steps.
Lin Zhengran returned to the rented car, grabbed a pack of bottled water, and headed back to the picnic site.
Wearing her heels, Jiang Jingshi quietly walked to the car.
Pan Lin stepped out respectfully. “President Jiang, just for that brief moment?”
Jiang Jingshi gazed at the shadow of Lin Zhengran disappearing into the night, her voice tinged with longing: “Yeah, there’s so much to do at the company. I couldn’t stay longer, and besides, he’s quite busy too.”
Then she suddenly chuckled, “I thought he’d scold me for coming all this way just to see him. But instead, he hugged me… I’d say this trip was worth it.”
Pan Lin couldn’t help but think — President Jiang had really changed since she met President Lin.
She recalled the first time they met, three years ago, at a taekwondo gym. Back then, she was elegant and graceful, exuding nobility.
It only took three years. While outsiders might think President Jiang hadn’t changed much, Pan Lin knew better — her thoughts and heart were already deeply tied to President Lin.
No matter the time or place, whenever someone mentioned Lin Zhengran, President Jiang’s face would light up with joy and become visibly anxious.
Just like this morning, when someone said they spotted President Lin on Lin Mountain — she was beyond excited. She didn’t hesitate at all, changing clothes, doing her makeup, and pushing all her work to the next day just to come here.
Seven hours on the road, and her enthusiasm never wavered.
How deeply must someone be in love to act like that?
“President Jiang, about those three girls who came with President Lin…”
Jiang Jingshi didn’t answer directly — she only said softly, “When he’s ready, he’ll tell me.”
“Mhm. I’m sure President Lin has his reasons.”
Pan Lin opened the car door for her. Jiang Jingshi took a long moment to pull her gaze back and got in.
Pan Lin shut the door, and the driver started the car.
As the Rolls-Royce drove down the mountain road,
Pan Lin, sitting in the front passenger seat, thought — after high school, there’s still university. Hopefully in the coming years, President Lin will have more time for President Jiang.
Staring out the window, Jiang Jingshi suddenly saw something in the sky. Her eyes lit up, and she smiled.
—
After returning to the picnic site, Lin Zhengran suddenly noticed the Three Little Ones were standing in front of the camp, all looking up at the sky.
He looked up as well —
A shooting star streaked across the sky, trailing a stream of stardust.
Little He Qing, Han Wenwen, and Jiang Xueli all had their eyes wide open.
“A shooting star!”
“It really is a shooting star! This is my first time seeing one.”
“Me too! So you really can see them from the mountain. What a magical place!”
Lin Zhengran walked over to the three of them.
They chirped excitedly, telling him how they heard noise outside while in the tent, and came out to see what was going on — turns out, a meteor had just passed by.
Jiang Xueli beamed, “I wonder if there’ll be more? Was that the only one?”
Han Wenwen stared at the starry sky. “There might be another, right?”
Little He Qing stood next to Lin Zhengran, anxious. “Ah! I forgot to make a wish!”
Lin Zhengran reminded her, “There’s another one coming!”
Another meteor streaked across the sky.
The Three Little Ones lit up with joy, quickly clasping their hands to make wishes.
Although the wishes were silent, in their hearts, all four — including Jiang Jingshi — shared the same wish:
To be with Lin Zhengran forever and ever.
As for Lin Zhengran, he didn’t really have a wish to make.
After all, this life had already gone exactly the way he wanted.
【After the grand battle with the beast horde, you and Fairy He, Miss Jiang, and the Demon Maiden Han traveled to the Summer Resort to relax and clear your minds.】
【Though no wild beasts blocked your way this time, your luck with women was off the charts, and you even stumbled upon a once-in-years Starlight Encounter, greatly boosting your power.】

【After dual cultivation with Miss Jiang, your fortunes aligned and your spiritual energy surged.】
【After practicing dark arts with the Demon Cult Maiden, both your spiritual energies skyrocketed, and your spirit level advanced.】
【The Starlight Encounter has pushed your spirit level up another tier.】
【You’ve successfully broken through to Level 72. At your age, you are now among the elite of elites. The little Royal City can no longer hold you. Soon, you will venture to the real continent. Though danger lies ahead, including the rise of the strongest enemy force, so do countless new opportunities.】
Huh?
What’s the “strongest enemy force” referring to?
In the system’s view, the college entrance exam was already a top-tier boss —
basically like a horde of a million beasts storming a city.
So… was this “strongest enemy” actually college?
—
“Lin Zhengran, were those the only shooting stars?”
Hearing Little He Qing’s question, Lin Zhengran explained, “That’s already quite a few. Meteors are all about luck — lots of people go stargazing and never see a single one. We’re lucky to have seen two tonight.”
Little He Qing gazed up. “Yeah, even if there weren’t many, as long as the wish comes true, that’s what matters!”
Lin Zhengran said, “Alright, everyone’s tired today. Let’s go back to our tents and rest.”
The three girls all froze for a second, cheeks blushing, but nodded.
Lin Zhengran said goodnight and headed to his tent first.
The Three Little Ones glanced at each other, said goodnight too, and crawled into their respective tents.
—
The night was quiet.
Lin Zhengran lay in his small, cozy tent, not sleeping.
He left the flap slightly open — waiting for something.
A moment later, the flap was gently pulled aside.
Jiang Xueli slipped in through the darkness.
Then, after a short pause, He Qing also quietly tiptoed her way inside.
The two bumped into each other and both let out a soft “Ah!”
Finally came Han Wenwen.
The Little Fox pulled back the flap and saw He Qing and Jiang Xueli both curled up with their heads covered inside.
The small tent was now packed.
The three girls looked at one another, all embarrassed and shy.
Lying on the bed, Lin Zhengran looked at them calmly. “Don’t just sit there. Come lie down with me. He Qing and Lili, one on each side. Wenwen, just lie on top of me. Come on.”
