Possessed Wolfless: From Rejected to Vengeful Lycans' Queen-Chapter 32: Eating Out Or...
Chapter 32: Eating Out Or...
Lethia flinched at the slight disappointment flickering across Renar’s face. ’Was I too hard on him? After last night? Wait—Whisney said he likes me. So, will he hate me now if I keep pushing him away? That... wouldn’t be good, right?’
"I mean, I shouldn’t be picky about my job—"
"Sure. Do whatever pleases you, then." Renar cut her off with a lazy drawl, his tone indifferent.
Callista, who could practically smell the love quarrel brewing between this undeniably intriguing unofficial couple, only smiled knowingly. She picked up her tablet, tapping through the Executive Aide registration site.
"Do you have any experience managing people?" Callista asked, her tone shifting into something more professional.
"I was a marketing manager at Ashcroft Ranch & Cheesefarm until two weeks ago."
Callista’s fingers stilled against the screen. Her gaze flicked to Lethia, assessing. The moment she heard Ashcroft, something clicked into place.
Almost everyone in the country knew Lethia because of that viral video. And from what Callista had observed, Lethia’s reputation sat in a very peculiar shade of gray.
The video had turned her into an empowering figure, especially for oppressed Omegas, earning her thousands of online supporters.
But it had also amassed an enormous wave of haters, particularly among the countryside packs that still clung to traditional werewolf values—packs that saw Lethia’s actions as a blatant insult to their pack dynamics.
And unfortunately for her, Varrel Quinnel held a dangerous amount of sway over those very packs, an alliance that was now bound by loyalty and submission to Lykon Haven.
"You have quite a controversial reputation for becoming an Executive Aide. Taking you in could either elevate Lykon Haven’s standing or drag it through the mud. So... is it revenge you’re after?"
Lethia caught onto Callista’s line of questioning. Her fingers fidgeted on her lap as she weighed her response carefully. Blatantly admitting she wanted to take down Varrel would only make her sound like a grumpy child throwing a tantrum over injustice. And she wasn’t that naïve.
She chuckled. "As you’re well aware, I’m powerless right now. And I need power. Not just a scrap of influence or something fleeting, I need an enormous amount of power. And Lykon Haven is the best place to get it."
Lowering her head, her hand instinctively caressed her stomach in slow, deliberate strokes. "So whether that power leads me to revenge or not... What I do care the most about is making sure my baby grows up in comfort, where no one can ever hurt them."
A knowing smirk tugged at the corner of Callista’s lips.
"Lykon Haven stands for justice and is staunchly anti-discriminatory. Even sworn enemies can become allies here. Fill out the application form on the website, and you’ll receive your entrance exam date within a week."
Lethia’s eyes sparked with anticipation, and she nodded eagerly.
"And as for where you’ll be assigned..." Callista’s gaze flicked toward Renar, gauging his reaction. "Let’s discuss that after you pass the exam."
"You’ll make sure she gets in, Callista." Renar’s voice rang out, firm and unyielding. "That’s why I brought her here in the first place."
Callista and Renar locked eyes in a silent battle, their gazes clashing like drawn swords. The tension between them was so palpable that Lethia, completely out of the loop, could only scratch her temple, despite it not itching.
"Give me five tubes," Callista demanded.
"With just three, you’re already an overdriven slut," Renar shot back, his tone dripping with disdain.
"I need more. I can’t barely satisfied with four nowadays."
"What are you? Planning to turn yourself into some kind of sex-driven machine now?"
"Give it or leave it." Callista tilted her head with a sharp glare in Lethia’s direction, her silent message making Renar’s jaw tighten.
Lethia didn’t fully understand what the hell they were talking about, but she was certain they were in the middle of some sort of negotiation for Callista to help her pass the exam.
"Fine! But take it gradually, with a 6-hour interval, or you’ll lose your sanity and it’ll be hard to come back." Renar finally gave in to Callista’s demand.
"Got it." A victorious smirk curled on Callista’s lips. "Ah, and... she can just stay with me until the exam. That way, I can prepare her better."
Lethia’s brows furrowed. As much as she wanted to get away from Renar—not now. Not yet. She still had a mission to complete for Whisney, and staying with Renar was the best way to do it.
"No!" "No!"
Lethia and Renar barked out in sync.
"You have Caelum in your house." Renar’s voice darkened, his tone resolute. "I’d rather throw her onto the streets than leave her under the same roof as those slave-lusted wolf."
He stood abruptly, the heavy scent of sex in the room clearly wearing on his patience.
"Let’s go." Renar grabbed Lethia’s wrist, his grip firm but not forceful, silently urging her to stand. Without another word, he led her out of the room.
Lethia felt the possessiveness in Renar’s grip—firm, warm, but never painful. His hold had a quiet dominance to it, and to her surprise, she found herself growing accustomed to it. A small smile tugged at her lips.
Callista, on the other hand, could only shake her head in disbelief at her cousin’s behavior.
She had tried countless times to set him up with various women, yet her virgin of a cousin remained stubbornly uninterested, always claiming relationships were too complicated.
He would rather bury himself in his research lab than bury his cock in a woman.
For a while, she even suspected his preferences didn’t lean toward women at all.
But after witnessing this? Yeah, that was definitely not the case.
Lethia frowned as the navigation screen in Renar’s car displayed an unfamiliar location. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Are we not going to your penthouse?"
"Hm... No."
His brief response only fueled her curiosity.
"So where are we going?"
"To eat."
"We’re eating out?" She pouted, glancing out the window. "But the robot chef’s food is really good, though."
Her eyes widened when she caught sight of the glowing sign—Stormfort Hotel.
She knew this place. It constantly popped up on her social media feed, famous for its exquisite food and the high-profile celebrities who dined there.
"Whoa... Are we gonna eat food here?" she asked, her excitement bubbling over as she turned to Renar.
"Yeah, of course, we’re eating food here," Renar replied smoothly, then added with a smirk, "Or... we could eat each other too, if you want."
