Phoenix Reborn In One Piece-Chapter 259: Fishman Island’s Struggles and Its History
Chapter 259 - 259: Fishman Island’s Struggles and Its History
While the Dream Exploration Team was discussing the fate of Fishman Island, King Neptune and Jinbe were having a similar conversation.
King Neptune frowned. He understood how serious this was—if handled poorly, the entire island could be thrown into crisis.
Jinbe, on the other hand, looked deeply worried. This was about the future and safety of Fishman Island, after all.
"Jinbe, be honest with me. In your opinion, do you think the Whitebeard Pirates' flag still has enough power to scare off other forces?" King Neptune asked with a serious expression.
Jinbe was silent for a moment before slowly saying, "That's exactly what I'm worried about."
"King Neptune, our Fishman Island is in too important a location. Almost every major force wants to take control of it.
The Big Mom Pirates have already made it clear—they are determined to plant their flag here.
To be honest, without Pops, the Whitebeard Pirates can't possibly stop Big Mom's crew."
Hearing this, King Neptune's face darkened. He knew Jinbe was telling the truth.
The Whitebeard Pirates were no longer as powerful as they once were. Without the legendary Whitebeard leading them, their strength had greatly weakened.
Against the overwhelming force of the Big Mom Pirates, the Whitebeard Pirates clearly wouldn't be able to hold them off.
"Then... could we try asking the Dream Exploration Team?" Neptune suddenly thought of something. The team was still on Fishman Island.
Jinbe was stunned for a moment, then started thinking.
But after a short pause, he shook his head. "That's unlikely. They're pure adventurers. If they take control of any island, it would change the nature of their journey, and the World Government would definitely put a bounty on them."
Neptune had thought the same thing, but hearing Jinbe say it out loud still left him feeling disappointed.
"If it really comes to that, Jinbe, for the future and safety of Fishman Island, we may have no choice but to raise a different flag," Neptune said in a deep voice.
He and Whitebeard were friends, but as king, his responsibility was to his people.
"I understand. If that time comes, I will explain it to them. I believe they will understand," Jinbe said firmly.
"King Neptune! Bad news! The Dream Exploration Team... they've gone to the Sea Forest!"
Suddenly, the right minister rushed in, looking anxious.
Neptune, who had been speaking with Jinbe in the palace, turned pale at the news and stood up in shock. "What?!"
His voice carried both surprise and doubt. "Why would they go there... could it be... are they after the Poneglyph?"
Neptune's expression shifted between confusion and worry, a sense of unease growing in his heart.
"It's very possible!"
"No matter what their reason is, King Neptune, we should go there immediately. That place is where Queen Otohime rests," Jinbe said seriously.
"Then we leave right now!" Neptune ordered, immediately setting off for the Sea Forest with Jinbe and the right minister.
~~~~~~
Sea Forest.
When Ryuen suggested going to the Sea Forest, Camie was reluctant to guide them.
After all, it was the resting place of Queen Otohime.
To the people of Fishman Island, Queen Otohime was a pure and sacred figure.
And because she was assassinated by a human, Camie was uneasy about the Dream Exploration Team wanting to go there.
"Guys, King Neptune definitely won't allow this. Can we not go...?" Camie asked nervously.
"Don't worry, Camie. We're here, so King Neptune won't make a fuss.
Besides, he's been avoiding us this whole time. If he does show up, this might be a good chance to meet him," Ryuen said with a reassuring smile.
"There! I see it!"
"The Poneglyph is really here!" Robin spotted the Poneglyph in the Sea Forest from a distance, and her excitement soared.
They had searched several places around Fish-Man Island earlier but found no trace of the Poneglyph.
At first, they thought it might be in Ryugu Palace, but Ryuen suggested checking the Sea Forest instead, leading them to this discovery.
Now, the Poneglyph had finally been found.
Everyone quickened their pace and soon stood in front of it.
Robin was thrilled—it had been a long time since she last found a Poneglyph. Without hesitation, she took out her notebook and began translating.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew looked around, taking in their surroundings. They also noticed Queen Otohime's grave.
The women in the crew felt admiration for the queen—after all, she had dedicated her life to promoting peace between humans and Fish-Men, right up until her death.
But from Ryuen's perspective, she was simply naive. She failed to understand that without equal power, no amount of effort could truly change the situation.
"You're here already? That was fast," Kuina remarked casually.
Everyone turned around to see King Neptune rushing over with Jinbe and the Minister of the Right by his side.
"Dream Exploration Team, greetings. May I ask what brings you here?" Neptune asked cautiously as soon as he arrived.
After all, this was the resting place of his queen—a queen who had been killed by humans. It was only natural that he wasn't particularly fond of them.
"We're obviously here for this stone. King Neptune, you finally showed up. I was starting to think you were going to keep hiding from us," Ryuen said with a teasing tone.
Jinbe cast an unnoticed glance at Robin, who was busy translating the Poneglyph. He couldn't help but feel puzzled.
Didn't the Dream Exploration Team know that Oharahad been wiped out for studying the Poneglyphs?
"Ho ho ho..."
"I see... But this is my queen's resting place, so—"
"Boom!!"
Before Neptune could finish his sentence, a loud crash echoed from Ryugu Palace!
"Damn it! That bastard Vander Decken is attacking Princess Shirahoshi's chambers again!" the Minister of the Right said angrily.
The moment the crew heard the name "Princess Shirahoshi," their attention was instantly drawn to it.
Robin had already told them about the ancient weapon Poseidon, and now, they had finally heard the name of the Mermaid Princess themselves!
"The attacker isn't far from here. Jinbe, with your strength, catching him shouldn't be too hard, right?" Ryuen said casually.
"Captain Ryuen is right! King Neptune, I must go take care of Vander Decken!" Jinbe said with a furious expression.
"I understand!"
"Then I'll leave it to you, Boss Jinbe," Neptune said in a deep voice.
