Chapter 255 - 255: Sengoku, do you think I’m easy to deal with?

"I didn't expect Whitebeard to choose this kind of death," Hog murmured in another space.

"After all, he was on the same level as the Pirate King, Roger. And I heard that before Roger turned himself in, he specifically met with Whitebeard. No one knows what they talked about, but I feel like it might have something to do with Whitebeard's final words," Nojiko said softly.

"Let's go. It's time to take Kuma with us," Ryuen said.

Nami nodded.

*Creak—*

The sound of a door opening echoed again as the Dream Exploration Crew reappeared at Marine Headquarters.

Their arrival once again drew the attention of everyone around.

But they ignored the stares. Ryuen led his group straight to Kuma. "Kuma, do you remember me?"

Kuma's mechanical head slowly turned toward Ryuen.

"Look at his eyes... Kuma... he's lost his consciousness," Daisy said, frowning.

"Sigh..."

"Sugar, do it," Ryuen sighed deeply.

"Ryuen, what are you trying to do?!"

At this moment, Sengoku finally realized Ryuen hadn't been joking. He was really going to take Kuma away!

But Sugar didn't stop.

She reached out and lightly touched Kuma, and in an instant, he turned into a toy. Following Sugar's command, he marched forward with stiff mechanical steps and disappeared into Nami's alternate space.

Ivankov and Sabo were utterly shocked by what they saw.

Even the other pirates were confused by the Dream Exploration Crew's actions.

"Ryuen!"

Sengoku roared in fury.

"Old man Sengoku, do you really think I'm someone you can just talk into obeying?"

Ryuen turned around, his gaze cold as he stared at Sengoku.

"In that case," Sengoku said, his expression grim, "I cannot allow you to leave Marine Headquarters so easily."

As soon as he spoke, Sengoku's body began to glow with dazzling golden light. In just a single breath, his form rapidly expanded, transforming into a towering, majestic golden Buddha!

*Clang!*

The crisp sound of two blades being unsheathed rang through the air.

Kuina and Nojiko had drawn their swords without hesitation. Meanwhile, the rest of the Dream Exploration Crew quickly spread out, forming a solid line. They stood firm, their expressions fearless, ready to face off against the Marines.

Even Boa Hancock had sided with them.

*Boom!*

With the crew now at a safe distance, Ryuen didn't hesitate. In an instant, he transformed into his full beast form!

In the blink of an eye, a massive phoenix, engulfed in raging flames, appeared before everyone.

The intense heat radiating from his body melted the stone beneath his feet, turning it into scorching molten lava that began to flow outward.

Ryuen flapped his wings and soared into the sky with a powerful gust.

At that moment, everyone felt an overwhelming wave of heat, as if they had been thrown into a sea of fire.

"Lava?"

Akainu's face showed shock as he shouted in disbelief.

Next to him, Aokiji's eyes widened, his face full of astonishment and disbelief.

He could clearly feel that the Ryuen in front of him was completely different from the one in Alabasta. His strength had grown much stronger.

The shadow of war once again loomed over all of Marineford.

"Wanna give it a try?"

"Sengoku."

"In the end, the only result would be Marine Headquarters turning to ashes." Ryuen hovered in the air, speaking calmly. But this time, his voice carried Conqueror's Haki.

The Marines who had just woken up were knocked unconscious again by the sheer force of his voice.

Even those who managed to stay on their feet were trembling inside!

Before Sengoku could react, Akainu was already preparing to make a move, magma surging across his body.

"Admiral Akainu, you'd better not do anything, because I won't hold back. Magma, to me, is nothing more than bathwater," Ryuen said as he looked at Akainu, the flames around him burning even stronger.

"Don't get too cocky!"

"Sakazuki, stand down!" Just as Akainu was about to strike, Sengoku's voice rang out, stopping him in time.

Akainu had no choice but to swallow his frustration once again.

Seeing him stop, Sengoku let out a sigh of relief. Then he turned to Ryuen. "Ryuen, don't forget—the World Government has always been watching the orphanage situation!"

His meaning was clear.

If the Marines withdrew and stopped helping, the Dream Exploration Group wouldn't be able to support the orphanage on their own.

Because the World Government had been trying to interfere all along.

"It doesn't matter. If the orphanage supply is cut off, then I'll just have to burn Mariejois to the ground as well." Ryuen spoke casually.

Only a few people in the crowd truly understood their conversation.

Like Shanks, Sabo, and Garp.

Everyone else had no idea what was going on.

Sengoku was shocked by Ryuen's words.

He could hear the determination in his voice. This guy really wasn't bluffing—he would actually go after Mariejois.

"Leave, Ryuen. But know this—if you take him with you, the Celestial Dragons won't let you go," Sengoku said after thinking for a long moment. He had finally decided not to stop Ryuen.

As Sengoku returned to his normal form, the flames around Ryuen also disappeared.

At that moment, everyone in Marineford felt the searing heat vanish, and they let out a huge sigh of relief.

On the Whitebeard Pirates' side, Marco couldn't help but feel frustrated.

His Devil Fruit ability was so similar to Ryuen's, yet the difference in power was enormous.

One focused on healing.

The other, on destruction.

Seeing that Sengoku had no intention of fighting, Ryuen descended from the air, and the rest of the Dream Exploration Group gathered around him.

"Clang!"

Suddenly, the sound of a sword being drawn echoed through the battlefield.

Everyone turned toward the source of the sound—

It was Mihawk!

And the person he was looking at was Kuina!

"One move."

Mihawk stared at Kuina.

Kuina didn't respond immediately. Instead, she turned to Ryuen, as if asking for his opinion.

Ryuen nodded in approval.

In that instant, excitement spread through the crowd. Their eyes burned with anticipation.

The world's strongest swordsman was about to fight the female swordsman of the Dream Exploration Group!

There was no doubt—this was going to be a battle worth watching.

Even Zoro couldn't hide his excitement.

He had always been curious about Kuina's sword skills, and now, he finally had the chance to witness her true strength with his own eyes.

He stared at Kuina without blinking, silently hoping she would put on an amazing display.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Kuina and Mihawk slowly walked toward an open area.

They stood about a hundred meters apart, yet the distance did nothing to lessen the intense tension between them.

Kuina once again drew her Wado Ichimonji. The sharp blade gleamed with a cold light, while Mihawk's eyes locked onto her sword, a hint of admiration flashing in them.

"Impressive Armament Haki. Your sword has undergone a transformation," Mihawk praised.

"I know," Kuina replied calmly.

At that moment, both of their fighting spirits peaked, as if time itself had come to a halt.

Then, in front of everyone, they swung their swords at the same time.

Mihawk raised his black blade, Yoru, high into the air. As his arm came down, a powerful slash shot out, cutting through the sky like a streak of black lightning, carrying overwhelming force and Haki.

Wherever the slash passed, the air was torn apart, making a sharp, piercing sound.

At the same time, Kuina's Wado Ichimonji shone with a dazzling light.

She gripped the hilt tightly, channeling all her strength into the blade before swinging it forward with full force.

In an instant, a powerful sword strike shot out from Wado Ichimonji, streaking through the sky like a brilliant white comet, charging straight toward Mihawk.

"BOOM!!!"

The two devastating slashes collided, like two planets crashing into each other, unleashing a massive energy shockwave.

The entire space seemed on the verge of tearing apart from the sheer force, the ground shook violently, and dust filled the air, making it hard for anyone to keep their eyes open.
