Perfect Avatar-Chapter 284: Judgement
Chapter 284: Judgement
The spotlight turned to Marie, the young girl looking at all the faces staring at her like a murderer.
"I was fighting for my life, I was fighting to regain my freedom! I was going through hell, but when I was at the top of that hell... You appeared."
A loud noise of hundreds of people gasping filled the court.
Giudecca walked towards her, hitting the desk vigorously, her eyes glistening.
"It was you, I didn’t need to see your face, I learned to recognize the energy of each person, so I knew it was you on Kalaharis. You won’t deny it, right?"
"...I didn’t deny it, if you could just let me explain my..."
"What is there to explain?! You were there, you were with other people, I felt their energy too! You were also killing those evil bastards... You were the hero I was waiting for so long... I was so relieved when I saw you... But you... You left me there, chained, with no one alive to get me out of here! I starved to death in the cold for weeks!!!"
Her body flinched as she struggled to contain her rage and not lunge at Marie.
She was shaking a lot, veins were popping out of her neck and forehead.
Looking at this, Lucca and Sigma backed away, but Giudecca didn’t break down.
"...Hey, why did you leave? You’re playing nice with everyone from this damn continent, so does that mean it’s only against me? Why are you all treating me like that?"
A tear of rage fell on Marie’s desk, Giudecca’s eyes flashed purple, her hands cracked the desk.
Marie was frozen in place, it was the first time Giudecca showed this kind of emotion and the audience was now very invested in this show.
Marie lowered her head and bit her lips, which amused Giudecca.
"What? Nothing to say? Come on, it’s easy, just admit that you always hated me! Just say that there was a force that made you act like that, that I have some kind of curse! That’s the only answer I want to listen !!! I was stuck there for weeks, in the cold and with no food or water, you knew I was going to die and you left me, you’re all against me, so tell me a curse is the explanation to that shit!"
"I was afraid!" Marie’s cry silenced the room.
She was shaking in her seat, her eyes watering.
Giudecca’s head tilted, making an enormous effort to remain calm.
"...What?"
"I was scared... Scared! I... I regret what I did, I was too stupid at that time to understand some things... If I could change things in the past, I would... But this day, when the other kids led me to you, I wasn’t ready for it."
She looked at Giudecca with a pleading face.
"You were covered in blood when I walked in.... you were... tearing someone apart with your teeth... and you didn’t look like a child in danger but a... You were more terrifying than the men I found there."
A cold sweat ran down her back, she grabbed her arms feeling her blood run cold.
"I was a child too, I don’t want to make excuses, but please, put yourself in my shoes. I was so scared... When you called me big sister... When you were smiling with their blood on your face... It was inhumane. You looked more like a monster eating the children they kidnapped... I was scared, so I ran away."
She closed her eyes, Giudecca stepped back, lacking words to express herself.
For the first time, she didn’t know how to get angry, Marie seemed genuinely affected by her fate and her words had a certain meaning, and that was precisely why they were unacceptable.
"I don’t know what I could do to repay you for this, I’d be a hypocrite if I said I’m glad you survived, I can only apologize. I really messed up... But I didn’t do that because you were a monster, it was just me being stupid."
"...Damn...You...I...You...What do you mean stupid? Why are you trying to play the victim?! You abandoned me because I looked like a monster, so you mean everyone sees me as a monster?!"
"No, it’s just my mistake! I’m not everyone!"
"Then why didn’t you come back after all this time?! I spent weeks there!"
"I was afraid of you, do you think I would come back?! What’s so hard to understand, I was a child!!!"
Giudecca kicked the desk aside, materialized her machine gun, and placed the barrel on Marie’s forehead.
"Well, guess what, now you’re an adult and I’m not a kid anymore, and I really want to give you a reason to call me a monster!"
Lucca rushed towards her, but Sigma stopped her with a wave of his hand.
The cannon glowed, but Marie showed no signs of fear.
"If it makes you feel better, then do it. I won’t run away, I’m the reason you suffered so much, so do it. At least get revenge on one of the people who made you suffer."
The two looked at each other intensely, angry tears in their eyes, they stayed like that for a few seconds with the machine gun shining, however, Giudecca threw her weapon to the ground.
"Damn, you’re so pissing me off!"
She strode away and kicked her own desk.
"You’re lucky I have no use in killing you! You look so pathetic you’re not even worthy. I took revenge on my parents by becoming a warlord while they are probably still miserable, I killed those who kidnapped me, so I have nothing left."
She headed towards the door, where she was supposed to be, but they were surrounded by walls.
"Hey, freak, let me out!"
"Hm? But what about the verdict?"
"The verdict, you can put it in your ass! Exit, now!"
She glared at Alpha, the latter slightly annoyed while the other Personas laughed.
"As it is, Marie is declared the winner and as punishment, from now on, the dog belongs to Zury."
"The... FUCK?!"
Lucca glanced at Zury who giggled and pulled a leash out of nowhere.
"...Giudyyyy..."
Giudecca walked towards them, Gamma waiting for her with boxing gloves.
"You want some? Monster!"
"I’m so going to kick your ass..."
"...Hey, that gives me an idea!"
Sigma snapped his fingers, transforming the scene into a boxing arena where Marie and Giudecca competed.
Sigma took the microphone announcing the two opponents who would settle their differences in a battle.
Although annoyed by the situation, Giudecca got another breath of fresh air when she put on her boxing glove.
"Fuck this shit, I’m going to kick your ass for good. It’ll make me feel a lot better!"
She exuded a burning aura, her eyes glowing.
Marie groaned and put on her gloves too.
"Do you even know what you want?"
"I want to see your blood on my feet! Bitch!!!"
Marie rolled her eyes and took a fighting stance.
The two faced each other with gloves imbued with a magic that negates all damage and so everyone watched a spectacle of two girls punching wind on each other for half an hour, but the ride and Giudecca’s insults got them forced to continue all this time.
After that, the mood improved a little.
In the restroom, Giudecca, a little exhausted, wiped the sweat from her forehead, Marie, turning her back on her, did the same.
"What a waste of time... It’s a good thing no one else saw this."
"You always complain after doing something stupid, why not avoid them altogether?"
"I wasn’t talking to you, idiot."
"Yeah, but I’m talking to you. Hm..."
Marie was hesitant about something, as Giudecca was wearing her uniform, she turned to her.
"How did you get out of there?"
"Try to guess, idiot."
"I’m serious." freёnovelkiss.com
Giudecca groaned, she turned to her to argue but Marie’s eyes were very different from usual.
She seemed to pierce her with her gaze and Giudecca could feel a strange pressure on her.
She rolled her eyes and turned her back to Marie.
"Rhea and some knights found me. I don’t know why they were there but they noticed my energy and she wasn’t afraid to get me out of there."
"Is this why you joined the army?"
"No shit Sherlock, isn’t it obvious? I was strong, and I had nowhere to go. Rhea wasn’t a coward, so she took me under her wing, I’m a genius, and I work hard, so I got promoted very quickly."
She clenched her fist, looking at her hat.
"Rhea saved me, so I will defend her empire until my last breath. I don’t want you to apologize, you are nothing to me, the only one I am indebted to is Rhea."
They stood back to back, Marie had a little pang in her heart but what filled her was a small feeling of relief, she was devastated by Giudecca’s fate, but seeing how well she was doing, she couldn’t stop feeling happy for her.
"Even so, that’s the only thing I can say. I lost my parents not far from that forest, you can use that to make fun of me if you want."
"Idiot, do you think I’m going to play your game?"
She pulled on her boots and headed towards the restroom door, but just as she touched the locket, she froze.
"...Near...That forest?"
Mary sighed.
"Yes, they were killed by people I don’t know, I managed to escape thanks to their sacrifice."
She looked behind her and met Giudecca’s troubled face.
"...What? Did I say something wrong?"
"The forest I was sold was south of Fenrir, what were you doing there???"
Marie tried to answer, but no explanation could come out of her mouth.
She took some time to think until she understood Giudecca’s implications.
"...Wait... that was Fenrir? This place was Fenrir???"
They looked at each other with wide eyes, this day proved to be very fruitful, seeing an official form of truce between Giudecca and Marie but above all the secret of Marie’s origins.
"You... You are from Fenrir..."
