Online Game: Starting With SSS-Ranked Summons-Chapter 290: Legendary Summon (1)
<Orbit>
<Rank: Legendary>
<Active>
<Description: Create a gravitational field around yourself or a designated target, causing objects to orbit at varying distances and speeds. The gravitational pull can be precisely controlled, allowing for attraction or repulsion of specific objects without affecting others in the same field. Can manipulate up to 20 objects simultaneously, with effects lasting until dismissed. The field has no cooldown and solely depends on your mana reserves.>
Small pebbles near his feet began to tremble, then rise. Dust particles swirled in complex patterns.
Then, one by one, the weapons began to stir.
The spear lifted first, rising slowly as if pulled by invisible strings. It rotated once, twice, finding its position in the forming orbit. The greatsword followed, then the battle-axe, each weapon rising with deliberate grace to join the dance.
Within seconds, all twenty weapons floated around Arthur in a perfect circle, rotating with hypnotic precision. The display was both beautiful and terrifying—a constellation of deadly weapon with Arthur as its center.
The Pollen Bloom retreated a step, sensing the danger. Its tendrils raised defensively around its damaged crystal core.
Arthur's expression remained coldly focused as he raised one hand. The weapons responded instantly, their orbit accelerating. Faster and faster they spun until they became a blur.
"Let's see how you like being impaled," Arthur said softly.
With a sharp gesture of his hand, the first weapon—a serrated throwing knife—shot from the orbit directly toward the plant's core. The Pollen Bloom deflected it with a tendril, the impact sending vibrations through its entire form.
Two more weapons launched in quick succession—a short spear and a curved sword. The plant blocked the spear but the sword sliced clean through one of its defensive vines, drawing a spray of golden sap.
Arthur wasn't finished.
Three more weapons launched simultaneously from different vectors, forcing it to defend from multiple directions at once.
"You wanted my attention," Arthur called out, his voice carrying easily across the clearing. "Now you have it."
The remaining weapons continued their orbit, picking up speed until they were nothing but lethal streaks around Arthur. With each gesture he made, another would launch with precision, only to be replaced in the orbit by the previous thrown weapon—pulled back by his gravitational control.
It was a perpetual assault, a never-ending cycle of attacks from every conceivable angle.
The Pollen Bloom fought valiantly, its remaining tendrils whipping in desperate defense. But for every strike it blocked, two more found their mark. Golden sap rained down as its outer layers were systematically shredded.
Arthur stepped forward, his weapons orbit maintaining perfect formation around him.
"You're intelligent," Arthur acknowledged, dodging a wild tendril strike without breaking stride. "But intelligence isn't enough."
Five weapons launched simultaneously, converging on its damaged crystal core from five different angles. The plant blocked three but couldn't stop them all. A war hammer and a throwing axe struck true, sending fresh cracks spiderwebbing across the crystal's surface.
It convulsed, its movements becoming erratic. Light poured from the fractures in its core, bathing the clearing in golden radiance.
"It's over," Arthur stated, raising both hands. All remaining weapons in his orbit froze, points aimed directly at the plant. "Any last words? No? I didn't think so."
With a final gesture, Arthur sent every weapon streaking toward it at once—a storm of magical weapons converging on the plant from all directions.
There was nowhere to run.
No defence possible.
Just the inevitable end of a predator who had chosen the wrong prey.
The Bloom didn't even have time to scream as twenty weapons impaled it simultaneously, each finding its mark with devastation. The crystal core shattered with a sound like breaking glass, releasing a pulse of energy that flattened the surrounding vegetation.
When the light faded, all that remained was a mangled husk, pierced through by Arthur's arsenal, and fragments of crystal scattered across the forest floor.
Arthur recalled his weapons one by one, each pulling free and returning to his orbit before being stored in his inventory.
"Master," Aether approached cautiously, eyeing the destroyed plant. "That was... impressive."
Arthur smiled. "Thanks,"
A notification appeared in his field of vision:
[You have killed level 23 Pollen Bloom (Legendary-Boss)]
Arthur walked up to the dead plant, observing the remains with interest. The once-formidable creature was now little more than a husk of mangled vegetation and broken crystal.
As he approached, another notification appeared.
[Spirit Core (Epic) has been dropped]
A glowing orb beside the plant's remains.
"Nice, with that, I can evolve Sylvaris to Legendary Rank once he reaches his evolutionary requirements,"
Arthur's eyes narrowed with sudden intent.
He extended his hand above the plant.
"Awaken," he commanded.
The air shimmered around the plant's remains. A dark portal materialized beneath the Pollen Bloom, its edges writhing with tendrils of shadow. The portal consumed the plant's body, drawing it into the void.
A few seconds later, the darkness surged upward, coalescing into a familiar form. The Pollen Bloom emerged once more. The damage from their battle had vanished.
[You have summoned the Pollen Bloom. They are now completely and utterly loyal to you. They will do as you instruct them without fail. You have the right to name them.]
[Would you like to name the 'Pollen Bloom'] [Yes/No]
"Yes," Arthur replied without hesitation.
"I will call you Bloom."
The plant brightened its bulb in what Arthur could interpret as excitement.
"A plant that controls minds," Arthur mused, "Welcome to the team, Bloom."
Aether approached cautiously, sniffing at the newly-awakened Bloom.
He turned to Aether. "How do you feel about having a plant joining our party?"
The void dragon's scales rippled in what might have been a shrug. "As long as it doesn't try to control my mind, I have no objections."
Arthur smiled again, this time with genuine satisfaction. They'd come to the Verdant Maw seeking power, and already they'd claimed more than he'd anticipated. A legendary summon with mind control abilities would be a good addition to the team.
