Chapter 226 - 226: Demon King Ron

Ever since Ron and Zephyr killed Doflamingo, bringing down the Donquixote Family and throwing the underworld of the New World into complete chaos, a storm had been brewing across the seas.

That storm, which had initially only caused a vague sense of unease, had now, in the wake of the world-shaking Marineford War, evolved into an unstoppable, all-consuming force in Ron's hands—an enormous tempest set to engulf the entire world!

The storm was coming.

For this vast ocean, was it the dawn after the darkness... or the darkness before the dawn?

No one could say for sure.

...

An Isolated Island in the Calm Belt, Near Amazon Lily.

Ron and his group, having left Marineford, had gathered on this deserted island.

"Hey, Traveler."

Kaido locked his fierce gaze onto Ron, his voice carrying a sense of anticipation and challenge. "Waging war against the World Government... This is a battle that has never been fought before in the history of the seas. Not even the Rocks Pirates dared to go this far. So tell me—how do you plan to fight this war?"

The others also turned their eyes toward Ron, awaiting his response.

Ron met their stares and spoke calmly, "You don't need to know the exact battle strategy right now. The most important thing at the moment is to gather our forces."

He turned to Sabo.

"Sabo, what's the maximum military strength the World Government can muster?"

The crowd shifted their attention to Sabo.

After thinking for a moment, Sabo lifted his head and answered, "I don't have the exact numbers, but it's at least over a million."

"A million...?"

A pirate from the Whitebeard Pirates couldn't help but gulp.

The mere presence of the tens of thousands of Marines at Marineford today had already made the battle unbelievably difficult. If they were facing over a million soldiers...

Of course, everyone here also understood that most of the World Government's forces were nowhere near as powerful as the elite soldiers stationed at Marineford.

"Hah!"

Kaido folded his arms and let out a scornful laugh. "So what if they have a million men? No matter how many ants there are, they can't threaten a dragon!"

His eyes gleamed with fierce confidence as he continued, "The Beasts Pirates have thirty thousand men, five hundred of whom are Zoan-type Devil Fruit users. Each of them can take on ten, maybe even a hundred enemies!"

"The Revolutionary Army, after liberating the nation of Tequila Wolf, has around five hundred thousand troops ready for battle," Sabo added.

Ace and Marco exchanged a glance. After a brief moment, they both nodded firmly.

Marco then turned to Ron and said, "The Whitebeard Pirates, including all 43 allied crews, have around twenty-four thousand remaining fighters."

Boa Hancock, her voice as cool as ever, added, "Amazon Lily can deploy a thousand warriors."

Ron adjusted the brim of his hat, subtly masking the hint of awkwardness on his face.

Unlike the others, he had no troops to contribute.

Jinbe was in the same position.

At this moment, they had nothing to say.

Not far away, Zoro, Sanji, and the rest of the Straw Hat crew stood quietly, deep in thought.

They had joined the battle at Marineford to help Luffy rescue Ace... and now, somehow, they had ended up in a full-scale war against the World Government itself.

Sanji exhaled a cloud of smoke, his expression troubled.

"So... our bounties are about to skyrocket again, huh...?"

Usopp and Chopper, on the other hand, were already in tears.

"Nooo... we don't want that...!"

Ignoring their reactions, Ron nodded after assessing the overall strength of their forces.

"Everyone, return and prepare your troops. In one month, I'll be waiting for you all in Punk Hazard."

Kaido narrowed his eyes. "Punk Hazard, huh... I see."

Ron cast a sidelong glance at him. "Kaido, don't forget what we agreed upon."

His tone carried an unspoken warning.

"That's the price for your Beasts Pirates participating in this war."

Kaido snorted, his arms still crossed over his chest. His face was full of disdain.

"Do you think I'm some petty scoundrel?"

He let out a boisterous laugh. "Compared to this war... that red Poneglyph is nothing but a rock. There's no way I'd go back on my word—I'll bring it to you."

Ron shifted his gaze away. "Good."

"You can leave now."

Kaido turned to leave but then suddenly stopped.

"Before I go, I have one more question."

Ron glanced at him. "What is it?"

Kaido's eyes sharpened as he asked, "The Ancient Weapon, Pluton... You know where it is, don't you?"

The moment those words left his mouth, the atmosphere changed.

Everyone around them tensed.

Standing beside Kuina, Robin's heart skipped a beat.

Franky, from the Straw Hat crew, widened his eyes in shock.

Under everyone's gaze, Ron slowly nodded.

"I do have some clues about Pluton."

Kaido's pupils shrank for a split second before a glint of excitement and madness flashed through his eyes.

"As I expected!"

However, Ron's next words instantly made Kaido's face darken.

"But I have no intention of letting that weapon resurface in this world."

Kaido's expression froze, his brow furrowing. "Why? Wouldn't having such a powerful weapon increase our chances of winning? Why wouldn't we use it?"

"There's no need for a reason," Ron said coldly. "And I don't have to explain everything to you, do I?"

His voice carried an undeniable authority.

Kaido's eyes flickered with a dangerous light, his murderous aura rising.

"The second condition for the Beasts Pirates joining this war..." Ron continued, his tone unwavering.

"You and your men will follow my commands—completely and without question."

A chilling silence fell over the island.

"Follow orders...?"

Kaido's gaze darkened, the air around him crackling with suppressed fury.

A moment later, a wild grin spread across his face, but his eyes burned with murderous intent.

"You think you can command me?"

A terrifying pressure exploded from Kaido's body. His crimson eyes gleamed menacingly, and the sheer force of his Conqueror's Haki sent waves of suffocating pressure crashing over the island.

Everyone present felt the oppressive force pressing down on them.

The overwhelming presence of an Emperor of the Sea made even the strongest warriors break into cold sweat.

Ron, however, remained unfazed.

His piercing blue eyes narrowed slightly.

And he... simply stared back.

"Kaido, the one who decides the outcome of this war... is me. Before stepping onto this battlefield, you better figure out where you stand!"

With those words spoken, a crimson glint flickered in Ron's eyes.

A surge of overwhelming dominance erupted from him, instantly shattering the oppressive aura Kaido was radiating.

It was an aura of absolute invincibility—far stronger than Kaido's Conqueror's Haki!

The clash of their Conqueror's Haki sent shockwaves across the battlefield. The heavens trembled, the earth quaked, and beyond the island, monstrous waves rose from the ocean. The remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates and the Straw Hat crew were caught in the devastating shockwave, their eyes rolling back as they lost consciousness, collapsing one after another.

Kaido's expression darkened as he stared at the young man before him, his azure eyes calm and indifferent.

Just two years... and this brat had already grown this powerful?

The pressure Ron emitted was just as overwhelming as Whitebeard in his prime!

Whitebeard was dead... was this guy about to claim the throne of the sea next?

No.

Perhaps... he was even more of a monster than Whitebeard!

Kaido's gaze lingered on Ron and the blood-red blade at his waist. A flicker of unease flashed through his eyes before he withdrew his aura, dispersing his Conqueror's Haki. He then turned away and muttered,

"Do as you please."

A vortex of storm clouds and lightning enveloped him, and in the next moment, a massive dragon burst from the swirling mist, its serpentine body twisting as it soared into the sky.

Kaido's voice drifted down from above.

"A month from now, the Beasts Pirates will meet at Punk Hazard."

With that, he was gone.

As Kaido disappeared into the distance.

After some time as everyone regained consciousness, Sabo let out a deep breath and turned to Ron. "That scared the hell out of me. For a second, I thought you were about to fight him."

Ron turned to him and chuckled. "I was. If he had shown even the slightest intent to kill, I would've made sure he never left this place."

Everyone around them exchanged shocked glances, their expressions frozen in disbelief.

Ron quickly shifted gears, addressing Sabo, Kuma, and Ivankov. "Sabo, Kuma, Ivankov, head back to Dragon and fill him in on everything. Tell him to prepare and start rallying warriors for the battle."

The three of them nodded with determination blazing in their eyes.

No one was more eager—or more desperate—to overthrow the Celestial Dragons and the World Government than the Revolutionary Army.

This was their golden opportunity!

Ron then turned to Ace and Marco. "Ace, Marco, you should head back and regroup as well. If there are any crew members who don't want to risk their lives in this war, don't force them."

"Got it."

After giving out the necessary instructions, everyone parted ways.

One month from now, they would regroup at Punk Hazard!

Once Boa Hancock exchanged a few words with Ron, she left, looking more than satisfied.

Now, only Ron's crew, the Straw Hat pirates, and Jinbe remained on the deserted island.

"How's Luffy?"

Ron walked up to Nami and the others, his gaze falling on Luffy, who was still unconscious, lying in a pool of his own blood.

"That big-headed guy said he should be fine. He just needs a few days to recover."

Sanji answered.

Ron nodded.

He then turned to Nami, Zoro, Brook, Chopper, and the rest of the Straw Hats, flashing them a small, apologetic smile.

"Sorry for dragging you all into this. But don't worry—I believe we'll win this war."

"Are you sure about that? We're talking about the World Government here..."

Usopp's voice was full of unease.

Being a pirate was already nerve-wracking enough. Going to war against the World Government? He had never even considered such a thing!

"Do you have a plan to win?"

Zoro's sharp gaze locked onto Ron. "Something like... an Ancient Weapon?"

Franky's expression stiffened, his eyes narrowing as he stared at Ron.

Ron noticed his reaction and turned to him with a smile. "You're Franky, right?"

Franky blinked in surprise. "Wait... you know me?"

"Of course. We've met before."

Franky was dumbfounded.

"W-We have? When? I don't remember that at all..."

"Of course you wouldn't remember." Ron smiled warmly at Franky. "Because I knocked you out."

Franky froze in place with a blank expression. The rest of the Straw Hat crew also looked stunned.

Then, Ron casually reached into thin air and pulled out a stack of aged, yellowing blueprints. He handed them to Franky.

"Here. These belong to you."

Franky took them with a puzzled expression. As soon as he looked down at the papers, his eyes nearly popped out of his skull.

"Huh?!!! Aren't these the blueprints of Pluton that I lost?!!!!"

The Straw Hat crew and Jinbe were momentarily stunned before realization struck them like a thunderbolt. Their eyes widened in sheer disbelief.

"W-WHAT?!!!"

"Franky! What did you just say?! Pluton's blueprints?!"

Nami was completely dumbfounded.

Franky didn't even glance at her, his gaze locked onto Ron as he stammered, "W-W-W-Why do you have this?!"

He was so shocked that he could barely get the words out.

Ron scratched his head and chuckled, looking a little embarrassed. "Back in Water 7, I knocked you out and took them."

Franky was speechless.

"...Huh?!"

"Yeah, back then, I planned to use these to negotiate with the World Government. But I ended up setting them aside and forgetting about them. Later, I didn't need them anymore. Now that I think about it, I should return them to you. Besides, I've already memorized all the details."

As Ron spoke so nonchalantly, the Straw Hats, along with Jinbe, stood frozen, as if they had turned to stone.

Meanwhile, Kuina and Robin covered their mouths, quietly giggling.

Their captain could be as reckless and willful as anyone.

...

Afterward, the Straw Hats returned to Sabaody Archipelago to meet with Rayleigh.

Meanwhile, upon arriving back at Baltigo, Sabo and the others immediately followed Ron's advice and began searching for three particular Devil Fruits—the Glint-Glint Fruit, the Dark-Dark Fruit, and the Tremor-Tremor Fruit.

They weren't the only ones.

The World Government, the Marines, the major forces of the New World, and even the underground syndicates were all searching for these three legendary fruits.

This led to an unprecedented wave of conflict, shaking the power balance of the entire world.

After their crushing defeat in the Summit War, the Marines were in a dire state—whether it was their military strength, influence, or reputation, everything had taken a severe hit. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

And now, with the World Government diverting Marine forces in preparation for Ron's war declaration, the Marines found themselves powerless against the escalating chaos at sea. Bit by bit, their dominance over the ocean was slipping away.

As the New World descended into a maelstrom of turmoil, a new force rose in its place.

Zephyr, leading Ain and his newly formed Neo-Marines, stepped in where the Marines failed, protecting countless innocent civilians amidst the raging power struggles.

As a result, the Neo-Marines' reputation soared, and their ranks grew exponentially.

...

A few days after the war, the bounties of those who had participated—and displayed extraordinary feats—were significantly increased.

Luffy, who had awakened his Conqueror's Haki, saw his bounty rise to 420 million berries.

Sabo's bounty skyrocketed to 740 million berries.

Boa Hancock's bounty surged to 560 million berries.

Ace's bounty increased to 690 million berries.

Marco's new bounty reached 1.01 billion berries.

Kuina's bounty climbed to 260 million berries.

However, none of them compared to Ron.

Having slain Admiral Kizaru and publicly declared war on the World Government, Ron's bounty surged from over 2 billion to a staggering 5 billion berries!

This placed him above even Kaido, whose bounty stood at 4.611 billion, and Big Mom, whose bounty was 4.388 billion.

He was now second only to Whitebeard, who had held a bounty of 5.046 billion, and the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, whose bounty had reached 5.549 billion.

But Whitebeard and Roger were both dead.

The title of the highest bounty in the world now belonged to Ron the Traveler!

And that wasn't all.

The World Government had given him a new moniker.

The Demon King Who Brings Chaos to the World!

Thus, in addition to his well-known alias, 'Traveler,' Ron gained another title—

Ron the Demon King.

...

New World – Totto Land

"Kizaru is dead? Whitebeard is dead? Kaido and that Traveler brat have joined forces?! And they're declaring war on the World Government?!!"

Big Mom's face twisted in sheer disbelief as she listened to Katakuri's report.

She had only gone to sleep for a few days.

How had the world completely flipped upside down while she was napping?!

"What the hell happened while I was asleep?!"
