one piece: gene extraction and fusion system-Chapter 332: A Princess, A Deal, and Five Genes
Chapter 332 - 332: A Princess, A Deal, and Five Genes
The wheel turned.
Mio waited quietly.
Soon, the result of the first lottery appeared in front of him.
"Congratulations on collecting the [Big Clam] gene through the lottery!"
Seeing the result, Mio raised an eyebrow and curled his lips. "This gene... barely acceptable."
The Big Clam gene came from a summoned beast in the world of Naruto, used by the Second Mizukage. It had the power to create dense mist and illusions, effectively trapping enemies in a mirage. If the enemy couldn't pinpoint the real body inside the fog, they wouldn't be able to attack effectively—let alone harm the user. All attacks would be rendered ineffective.
The ability was decent, but not exceptional on its own. Still, if paired with other synergistic genes, it might become quite valuable.
"Next."
With a thought, Mio pressed the lottery button again, and the roulette began spinning once more.
The remaining four draws were over quickly.
All in all, out of the five draws, aside from the [Big Clam] gene, Mio obtained: freёnovelkiss.com
[Jiaotu Gene!]
[Mammoth Gene!]
[Erwa Gene!]
[Milotic (Minas) Gene!]
The results were mixed—neither particularly lucky nor terribly unlucky.
The underwhelming draws were the Erwa and Mammoth genes. The Erwa gene came from the second brother in the Calabash Brothers, possessing clairvoyance and enhanced hearing. While useful for detection, it didn't improve combat capabilities much and was easily countered.
The Mammoth gene, meanwhile, was just an ancient creature's DNA. Nothing special compared to the mammoth genes Mio had already hunted before. Practically redundant.
Fortunately, the other three genes were solid.
The Big Clam, as previously mentioned, could be useful in strategy and crowd control.
The Jiaotu gene—coming not from the Chinese mythical beast but from the game Onmyoji—was intriguing. It granted the power to form a healing stream between the user and allies, distributing damage evenly and restoring wounds. In the game, this was a limited skill, but in reality, there might be greater potential if developed properly.
Lastly, the Minas gene came from the Pokémon Milotic, a beautiful and elegant water-type Pokémon with notable supportive and defensive capabilities. Its inclusion gave Mio some decent utility options.
All in all, not a bad draw. These genes might yield some surprises during future cultivation.
With a thought, Mio closed the panel.
He stood up, stepped out, and appeared outside the castle.
Using Observation Haki, he sensed Erica training the three Boa sisters in Haki. She was currently setting their daily training routines.
Mio didn't approach them. Instead, he walked toward a different area.
It was a flower garden—and nestled within it was a miniature house, home to Mansherry.
The little girl had adjusted quickly. Though she had been sad upon leaving her kingdom, she was no longer miserable. Life here was peaceful, and Mio hadn't mistreated her.
Still, she hadn't stopped longing for her homeland.
"Mansherry," Mio called as he stepped into the garden.
From the miniature house, the small door creaked open. A little head popped out and blinked curiously. "Is something wrong?"
"Come with me," Mio smiled and reached out his hand. "From now on, you'll stay by my side. You have great abilities. You need to work on developing them more, alright?"
Mansherry was a Healing Fruit user, and Mio didn't believe her powers had to rely solely on tears, as shown in the original story. That might simply be due to her own lack of development. With the right training, Mio believed her abilities could evolve far beyond that.
After all, he wouldn't want to have to make her cry just to get healed in battle.
"I... I don't want to leave. It's so beautiful here," Mansherry said, hugging herself at the doorway with slight reluctance.
"You're coming whether you want to or not." Mio pouted, then gently scooped her up by the collar and dropped her into the chest pocket of his coat, leaving only her head visible. "Your ability won't improve if you stay here forever. You need to get stronger so you can save even more lives, right?"
"Meanie."
Mansherry gave him a small pout and smacked his chest with her tiny hands.
Then she tilted her head proudly and said, "Mansherry already saved a lot of people! She's amazing!"
"You need to be even more amazing." Mio gave her a head pat, stopped talking, and took a step forward.
In the next instant, he appeared in another part of the island.
This was the domain of the crows—and they had all gathered here. Thousands of them. Even Hei'er was present, their eyes locked in the same direction.
They were watching a figure, someone who clearly did not wish to be seen.
This person had planned to meet Mio in secret, but under the crows' scrutiny, he broke out in a sweat and muttered helplessly, "So much for a discreet visit. Guess I won't go unnoticed today."
His aura surged. Clearly, he was preparing to break through the blockade.
But then, a far more terrifying aura burst forth from Hei'er—so intense that the figure froze in place, stunned.
"This crow... is strong!" he thought in disbelief, and a deep sense of crisis gripped him.
And before he could act—
Whoosh!
A sharp sound cut through the air behind him. He sensed a deadly threat and instinctively dodged—but it was already too late.
A powerful hand slammed into his head from behind, smashing him into the ground.
Boom!
The ground cracked from the impact, shaking violently.
Mio stood calmly, lifting the stranger up by the head and glaring at him coldly.
"Speak," Mio said. "Who are you?"
