Chapter 66 - 66 : Shukaku Rampage and Gaara Death

"Monster! Stay away from me."

"It's him, don't get so close to him."

"Don't look at him."

"Go away."

Everyone hates me, and everyone wants to kill me. In this world, no one needs me. Then why do I exist and continue to survive? Why am I alone?

Suddenly, an evil voice echoed in Gaara's heart:"Look, no one in this world needs you. Everyone looks at you like that. Don't you want to kill them? Only by killing more people can you prove your existence. Come on, accept my power! Merge with me and kill more people! Let's enjoy the taste of blood together!"

Kill more people...

As Gaara fell into a deep sleep, Shukaku was finally completely released.

"Hahahaha, I'm finally out! I want to kill!"

"This is a prosperous village. I like it."

Shukaku suddenly puffed up his stomach and then opened dozens of large mouths on his body. An endless sandstorm erupted.

"Let the wind and sand bury everything! Wind Release: Infinite Sandstorm Breakthrough! Hahahaha!"

For a moment, dust and sand filled the skies above Konoha, threatening to bury it completely.

On the other side, the Third Hokage and the others, who had just finished dealing with Orochimaru, frowned as they saw the chaos.

"He must be stopped. If this continues, he'll destroy the village."

"But if we confront a Tailed Beast directly, even if we win, the village will suffer greatly."

Haruto Itsuki also looked helplessly at the scene.

In the original timeline, Gaara transformed outside the village, so there wasn't much damage. But now he's transformed inside the village. And since no one interrupted his transformation, Shukaku has taken complete form. It won't be as easy for someone like Naruto to resolve this now.

"I can feel it! The presence of a stranger over there!"

Shukaku turned his head abruptly:

"Wind Style: Barrage of Drilling Air Bullets!"

Dozens of massive, transparent wind spheres were fired in one direction.

"Not good! That's the evacuation shelter!"

The Third Hokage's face changed.

"Flying Thunder God Technique!"

Haruto appeared instantly in the air above the shelter. His hands moved quickly:

"Earth Style: Multi Earth Wall Formation!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Shukaku's attacks shattered two layers of walls before being stopped by the third.

Haruto didn't look relieved.

"Just as I thought... Shukaku is much stronger than I expected. Probably because he's fully released."

Still, Haruto wasn't too worried. With so many high-level fighters on Konoha's side, even a Tailed Beast — especially the weakest one — could be dealt with. What worried him more was the collateral damage and harm to the villagers.

Shukaku grinned evilly when he saw his attack was blocked.

"Hahaha! You blocked it? Then try this!"

His body bulged as he gathered chakra.

"Tailed Beast Ball!"

Wait—what?! I thought the One-Tail couldn't use the Tailed Beast Ball. What's going on?

Haruto knew defensive ninjutsu wouldn't work here. He wasn't skilled at it, and the blast would still kill villagers beneath him.

"Sealing Jutsu: Spatial Barrier!"

A transparent light curtain appeared. When the Tailed Beast Ball hit it, it vanished quietly and reappeared far away — obliterating a large section of open land.

Haruto gasped. Space-time ninjutsu was exhausting. Even with his massive chakra reserves, he was already feeling drained.

"If only I had mastered my space-time jutsu... I could've dragged Shukaku outside the village and fought freely."

Shukaku, frustrated that his attack failed, started forming another Tailed Beast Ball—

"Summoning Jutsu: Toad Shop Slam!"

With a booming roar, Jiraiya's summoned toad landed directly on Shukaku, forcing him to swallow the attack.

Shukaku lay there groaning for a long moment.

Taking advantage of the pause, Haruto summoned his Thunder Giant once again.

"Clone Technique!"

Haruto had just finished fighting Sand Shinobi, but now with a brief moment of rest, the Thunder Giant absorbed more lightning and returned to fighting condition.

Jiraiya was shocked by the jutsu's sheer power. Anyone could tell how powerful it was.

Without a word, Haruto had the Thunder Giant grab Shukaku's tail before the beast could recover.

"Let go of me! I'll eat you alive!" Shukaku thrashed violently.

Haruto ignored the screams, infusing Shukaku with positive charges using lightning. The clouds above responded, and the Thunder Giant used the attraction to lift Shukaku into the air.

This is the principle of flight that Haruto recently mastered.

After swinging Shukaku around several times, the Thunder Giant let go—and Shukaku was thrown far outside the village.

Everyone fell silent. Seeing the Thunder Giant earlier was one thing. Watching Haruto use it with this level of power was another.

"Damn brat! You dare toy with me? I'll make you suffer!"

Shukaku roared and charged.

Haruto's hands formed seals:

"Lightning Style: Heaven's Wrath!"

The Thunder Giant's eyes snapped open. A colossal beam of light connected earth and sky.

BOOM!

Shukaku was blasted hundreds of meters away, landing in a mangled heap. He twitched but couldn't get up.

"He's... too strong!"

From high above, the Kirigakure observers could see everything. Even Haku showed fear.

Zabuza, expression neutral, kept writing in his notebook—but inside, he was rattled.

"If I remember correctly, a few months ago, he barely managed to fight me. And now... he's grown into something far beyond my reach. A terrifying genius."

He closed his notebook.

"No need to keep recording. As long as he exists, Kirigakure can never be enemies with Konoha."

After a long struggle, Shukaku got up again—but this time, there was no more arrogance in his eyes. When he looked at Haruto, his gaze was full of fear.

After a brief breath of relief, Haruto Itsuki led the Thunder Giant, walking slowly toward Shukaku.

A trace of undetectable fear flashed in Shukaku's eyes. How is this guy so strong...? Is he even human...? Suddenly, Shukaku remembered the two shinobi who had sealed him long ago.Konoha... were they always like this?

"Wooo————" Shukaku crouched down and glared at Haruto, his body trembling like a terrified beast.

Haruto couldn't help laughing. "So, you're just a big cat after all."

As Haruto approached, Shukaku leapt up in a panic, lunging at him. With a wave of his right hand, Haruto commanded the Thunder Giant behind him to strike.

"Lightning Style: Blade of Heaven."

Boom!!

Shukaku was smashed to the ground again by the Thunder Giant's blade.

After a moment, Shukaku struggled up and spat out a few sand bullets at Haruto, before turning to flee.

"Summoning Jutsu: Toad Slam!"

Jiraiya appeared at a critical moment, summoning a massive green-and-white toad that slammed Shukaku back down.

When Shukaku rose again, dazed, he found himself surrounded. On the left was a massive red toad.On the right was the green-and-white one. In front was Haruto's Thunder Giant.

With a mournful wail, Shukaku tried to flee, only to be pinned down by the two toads on either side.

"Boss Bunta, Toad Gamatsu. You can let go now."

Haruto directed the Thunder Giant forward. It embraced Shukaku tightly, discharging lightning into his body to paralyze him.

"Lightning Style: God's Binding."

Electric arcs surged through the Thunder Giant's arms. Shukaku's body twitched and stiffened.Lightning was still the natural enemy of earth.

Even as Shukaku continued to struggle, Haruto looked on with a complicated expression.

I can defeat him... but I can't seal him.

Jiraiya scratched his head. "I didn't bring any sealing tags with me, either..."

Luckily, Haruto didn't need to worry for long. The Third Hokage soon arrived with Konoha's Sealing Squad.

Over a dozen ninja skilled in fūinjutsu began forming complex patterns around Shukaku. Moments later, dozens of gray-lighted chains launched and bound Shukaku.

"Sealing Technique: Eight Trigrams Seal!"

Shukaku howled and thrashed, but his massive form gradually faded. When he was finally gone, Gaara collapsed in the sand where he had been.

Haruto wiped away sweat from his forehead, relieved.

"It's finally over..."

But something wasn't right. The sealing team was still operating.

"Hokage-sama, what's happening?" Haruto asked, frowning.

The Third Hokage took a puff from his pipe.

"As you can see, we're preparing to extract Shukaku from his body. Once we find a compatible host, Konoha will have another Jinchūriki. Other nations might object, but with two Jinchūriki—and you—we don't need to fear them."

"You'll have all the time in the world to chase your dream, Haruto."

Haruto's face twisted in disbelief.

"But... he'll die if you do that!"

The Third Hokage narrowed his eyes.

"Haruto, what's gotten into you? He's the enemy. Are you... sympathizing with him?"

"You're kind, but never foolish. Without you, Konoha would have suffered terrible losses today. I might've died too."

Haruto looked at Gaara silently, conflicted. The plot has changed...Gaara didn't fight Naruto outside the village like in the original. He didn't get defeated and redeemed. Instead... he was captured. And now, Konoha—still strong—has no reason to spare him.

"Hokage-sama... Please. Let me speak to him before you continue."

The Third Hokage hesitated, then nodded.

Haruto knelt beside Gaara.

Gaara, seemingly understanding, looked up calmly.

"So I'm going to die?"

Haruto's gaze softened. He nodded. "Probably."

Gaara smiled—his first real smile since childhood. A cold, twisted one.

"Finally... it ends. I don't have to live in this pain anymore."

Haruto asked softly: "To you, is living... pain?"

After a moment of silence, Gaara replied: "My mother died giving birth to me. Because of me. She cursed the world, left her chakra behind to kill anyone who came near me. My father named me Gaara—'the demon who only loves himself.' And I became that. I killed, I survived, Alone. Everyone feared me... hated me..."

"Now, the demon returns to hell. They'll be happy, right? I curse this world... just like my mother."

Gaara suddenly screamed: "No one needed me! No one loved me! My own father sent assassins again and again. I killed them. I didn't want to, but I did. I even killed my uncle... the only person I loved...!"

Gaara laughed wildly, tears falling with each breath.

Haruto remained silent. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

At some point, Naruto and Sasuke had arrived behind him.

Naruto clenched his fists.

"I... I love him..."

But the Third Hokage waved his hand.

"Continue the extraction."

The sealing squad resumed their work. Chains tightened. Gaara screamed as the Bijū began to be forcibly removed.

Naruto stepped forward—but Haruto blocked him silently.

"Heheh... so this... is what death feels like...?"

Gaara laughed. His voice echoing into the dusk.
