Shin glanced around but didn't see any of toads...
"Strange. Where are they?"
Since he couldn't see any, Shin decided to use his Kagura Mind's Eye to sense chakra signatures and locate the toads.
"So they're not here."
Through the Kagura Mind's Eye, Shin realized that Mount Myōboku was actually quite vast, much larger than Ryūchi Cave, which he had visited before.
His current location was merely the outskirts of Mount Myōboku. Besides some insects, there were no signs of toads.
The toads resided in the central region of Mount Myōboku. So, Shin had to leave this area and head towards the center.
The distance wasn't short, but with Shin's Space-Time Ninjutsu, distance was never an issue.
Using Yomotsu Hirasaka, he instantly arrived at the toads' dwelling place, where he saw a large gathering of them.
Besides Fukasaku and Shima, whose forms were relatively small, the other toads were enormous. Gamabunta, for instance, was nearly as large as the One-Tail, Shukaku.
As for strength, while Gamabunta wasn't weak—Shin didn't believe its power rivaled that of a Tailed Beast.
"Who are you?" A large, emerald-green toad carrying two massive swords on its back questioned Shin warily.
If Shin wasn't mistaken, this giant toad was Gamabunta's brother, Gamahiro. Gamabunta had two brothers: Gamaken and Gamahiro.
Shin glanced at Gamahiro but didn't bother responding. His target was the Great Toad Sage, Gamamaru. As for Gamamaru's location, Shin didn't need them to lead the way—he had already sensed the Great Toad Sage's aura.
"Mount Myōboku isn't open to just anyone,"
Seeing this red-haired human ignore him and attempt to enter the inner sanctum, Gamahiro immediately drew the two large swords from his back.
Gamahiro was usually taciturn, not fond of speaking. This time was no different. After a brief warning, he prepared to attack.
Mount Myōboku didn't forbid humans, but it didn't welcome uninvited strangers, especially when they were heading towards the area where their ancestor slept.
"Get out of my way."
Without even turning his head, Shin's Nine-Tomoe Rinne-Tenseigan flashed. An immense, irresistible repulsive force sent Gamahiro flying.
Though Gamahiro wasn't killed, he was severely injured, unable to get up for at least a short while.
However, Shin's aura attracted even more toads. Even Fukasaku and Shima appeared.
The two elderly toads stood atop Gamabunta's head.
"You... you're Shin Uzumaki!" Fukasaku looked at Shin, taking a deep breath.
Why has Shin Uzumaki come to Mount Myōboku?
He also knew this meant trouble...
Don't assume these toads, living in the Summoning Domains—were ignorant. They knew quite a bit about the Shinobi world's affairs.
Their main source of information was, of course, Jiraiya.
So, besides a few toads who rarely went out and were unfamiliar with outside intelligence, the others had some knowledge of Shin.
"Move aside. I'm here to see Gamamaru."
Shin said coolly to the assembled toads.
"You want to see the Great Toad Sage?" Fukasaku became even more vigilant.
Other toads might not know who Gamamaru was—but as the Great Toad Sage's guard, he certainly did.
"That's right. I don't have time for this. Stand aside, or I'll paint this mountain red."
Shin's tone was utterly flat, but his words overflowed with killing intent.
Shin held no particular ill will towards these toads, but he didn't have any fondness for them either. If they blocked his path, Shin wouldn't mind crushing them.
"Even if you are strong—do you think you can run wild in Mount Myōboku?" Gamabunta was furious, his already fierce face looking even more menacing.
He had heard how strong Shin Uzumaki was, but it was all hearsay—he hadn't witnessed it himself. So, though Gamabunta was wary of Shin, he wasn't yet afraid.
"....."
Shin stared at the group of toads, his aura turning dangerous—The killing intent he had been suppressing was instantly released.
The blood-red killing intent stained the entire space, terrifying the toads. They had never encountered such horrifying killing intent before.
Fukasaku and Shima felt as if they were seeing mountains of corpses and rivers of blood.
The killing intent affected their minds, causing them to hallucinate—Just his killing intent alone was enough to trap them in a Genjutsu.
"<Shinra Tensei!>"
Shin had no time to waste on these toads. He said he would act, and he did—With a single Shinra Tensei, he sent all the toads flying.
Even Fukasaku and Shima, whose strength was comparable to Kage-level, were severely injured, slammed against the rock walls, their bodies too damaged to move.
Shin walked past them with unhurried steps, feeling no emotion about defeating these toads in an instant.
Shin hadn't killed these toads. After all, he had no deep-seated hatred for them. He had come here only to see Gamamaru.
With all these toads incapacitated—no toad could stop Shin from meeting the Great Toad Sage.
——
A few minutes later, Shin arrived at the true inner sanctum of Mount Myōboku and saw the Great Toad Sage, Gamamaru, who had lived for at least a thousand years.
"Gamamaru, still pretending to be asleep?" Shin looked at the giant toad and said coolly.
The Toad Sage opened its eyes—Its deep, wise gaze fell upon Shin.
"First time meeting. Let me introduce myself. My name is Shin Uzumaki. Have you heard of me?" Shin floated in the air, meeting the Great Toad Sage's gaze.
"No. I am very unfamiliar with you." Gamamaru shook his head. He truly didn't know this Shin Uzumaki.
Or rather... this person shouldn't even exist.
Shin hadn't appeared in any of Gamamaru's past prophecies. And even now, meeting him—Gamamaru couldn't see through him, but he could sense that Shin was very dangerous.
"Familiar or unfamiliar, it's irrelevant... I came to find you for a reason—"
Shin didn't care if this giant toad knew him or not. He was here to ask Gamamaru some questions.
"I have some questions. I'm hoping you can answer them."
Gamamaru looked at Shin, understanding inwardly that if his answers didn't satisfy this person—their sacred Mount Myōboku might truly be in danger.
"If I know the answers, I will tell you." Gamamaru said to Shin.
Refusing would only anger him. Judging by the killing intent he had sensed earlier, this person was not to be trifled with.
