Mythology Rebooted-Chapter 455 - 205: Devil Alliance, Familiars Descend_2
Chapter 455: Chapter 205: Devil Alliance, Familiars Descend_2
For a moment, the Underworld Great Tomb quieted significantly, with the weak silenced, and only three high-ranking Devils permitted to speak.
The Headless Knight remained silent, enduring the barrage of thoughts one after another, even as his head was threatened to be used as a bargaining chip, he always maintained his self and calm.
Seeing that nothing could be pried from him, the Devil Alliance moved collectively to unseal the Headless Knight’s head and forcibly modify his will.
The Headless Knight’s body trembled, his tattered grey cloak flailed wildly, manifesting decaying Skull faces midair and speaking the anguish of the dead through their voices.
The Death Knight went offline, and the Knights of the Devil Alliance logged into the account.
The Headless Knight had sealed his own thoughts, forgotten Wayne’s face, and was unable to retrieve Shadowmare—it was his final act of rebellion, leaving the Devil Alliance helpless.
After all, they were the elite who roamed Hell, the strong who had climbed the mountain of corpses and sea of blood; they had brains and plans, and through veiled hints and gentle coaxing, they soon found the weakness of the Headless Knight.
"The Goddess of Death has abandoned her own Knight, a new Chosen has descended, he has become a thing of the past, worthless except for the title of master of the Underworld Great Tomb," a clear female voice blossomed with thought.
"Impossible, the Goddess of Death does not care for her own Knight, there is no new Chosen, he has always been the Death Knight."
"No, the Chosen has already descended, Shadowmare has a new master!"
"That doesn’t mean Death has abandoned him, it must be that he took it upon himself to send his power beyond Paris."
"Such a loyal Knight, to abandon glory with his own hands for the sake of faith!"
"He entrusted his glory to the new Death Knight, revealed intelligence and took away the Sealing Book, the location was Windsor Lundan."
"The Hell Gate has not yet opened, we cannot descend; how about we replicate the previous plan, if we could succeed once, we can succeed a second time."
"The new Knight will also manage to send away Shadowmare, this cycle is meaningless."
"Exactly, and it’s too time-consuming, by that time the Hell Gate will have opened!"
"..."x3
"Lend me your power, let my thoughts descend upon the mortal realm, only then can we completely resolve the Death Knight and reclaim the Sealing Book."
"Hehe, why shouldn’t I be the one to descend upon the mortal realm?"
"I am more suitable!"
Devils are such creatures, alliances form out of necessity, vigilance stems from trust, and betrayal is merely professional ethics; expecting them to vote democratically is as likely as the Alliance disintegrating on the spot.
The three Devils had a clear understanding, having been through similar dialogues many times, ending inconclusively every time.
Unsurprisingly, this time was no different.
The three Devils withdrew and decided on a secondary course of action, amassing power to have their Familiars descend upon the human world—one Familiar per Devil, and no one allowed to be greedy.
The rest of the Devils immediately expressed their dissatisfaction.
"You let your Familiars descend using our power, while we had hope for the Hell Gate, actions like these will lead us to wait a very long time!"
"Correct, we do not agree."
"Unless you also let my Familiar descend to the mortal realm."
"And mine, too!"
"..."
Clamor arose once again, but the three Devils kept silent until their allies had expressed their complaints before slowly speaking up.
"The Thousand-Eyed Demon perished in Lundan, which is very dangerous. Your Familiars going there would not be of any use."
"Sign a supplementary clause that our three Familiars will not accumulate power on earth!"
"Only unity leads to victory. The Alliance was established for this purpose. To continue this dispute is to ensure the seven Demon Kings remain the rulers of Hell forever, and we forever the losers."
The three Devils coordinated seamlessly, banding together like a CPU against the other Devils. The effect was unremarkable, and ultimately futile; they were all Devils, each with many a plan book. None would be foolish enough to believe each other.
Watching this scene, the Headless Knight couldn’t help but let out a light chuckle.
Bickering over a single Familiar, yet dreaming of dragging one of the Great Demon Kings from his throne—how absurd!
Perhaps it was the Headless Knight’s laugh that was too jarring, or the Obelisk too important, but the Devils blocked out the Death Knight’s thoughts, immersing themselves in endless debate until they reached an agreement two hours later.
It was extraordinarily efficient by their standards. In Hell, it would take at least two months, an efficiency that would drive anyone crazier than the proceedings of Windsor’s Lower House.
The outcome of the discussion was as follows: everyone compromised, the three upper-tier Devils gave up parts of their territories, signed a supplementary clause that allowed their Familiars to descend upon the Underworld Great Tomb.
Their target was the new Death Knight, with the aim of reclaiming the Sealing Book and turning Shadowmare over to the Alliance’s Death Knight.
Atop the Great Tomb’s dome, black portals trembled violently, lines intertwining and descending, the collective will of the Devils levering open the seal between Hell and the human world, sending three Familiars into the mortal realm.
First as projections, and then materializing into reality.
In some junction between the human world and Hell, a white bone gate shivered slightly, as if breathing, pulsing with sulfuric vapors.
On a nearby white pillar were inscribed the Angel’s Golden Rule Holy Words—Those who enter here, abandon all hope.
The Gate of Hell.
Before it was the Angel’s warning, telling intruders that what lay ahead was Hell, and it was still not too late to turn back.
The white bone gate, assembled from scattered rib bones, served as Hell’s entrance. The Devil Alliance, powered by the Underworld Great Tomb, managed to bypass the seals imposed by Heaven, causing the ribs to open to either side and activate an uneven black passageway.
The process was intricate, where even the slightest mishap could trigger the seal, summoning Angels to a forceful attendance.
The Devils proceeded with caution, and at the moment the passage opened, they hurled three silhouettes from Hell into the mortal realm.
