Chapter 403: Chapter 188 How are you so skilled?
Chris didn’t have Wayne’s flexible approach to love, nor did she have a constantly renewing first love. Swept up in high speed by Wayne, their lips and teeth interwoven, their affairs became indistinct, and she quickly became disoriented and lost several strategic positions.
When she came to her senses, she found herself straddling Wayne from above, in an extremely indecent pose.
Wayne: (⁄⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄⁄)
If it had been Veronica, she would have thrown a punch long ago.
Just you dare to take advantage and act cute!
But Chris wouldn’t. Her face was even redder than Wayne’s, and thinking about how she actively initiated kisses during their entanglement, her CPU overheated, and instantly her demeanor changed.
She looked down at Wayne, who lay beneath her with a frigid gaze, as cold as an icy pool, as if it could freeze everything around her.
What was this, a personality switch?
Wayne recognized this state; he guessed the graduate student was like him, thin-skinned and shy, not good at expressing feelings and, out of embarrassment, switched personalities to take a bite of the apple.
Interesting!
Wayne sat up to face the icy gaze and kissed her lips without hesitation.
The face was the same, but with a different temperament, it was like she’d become another person.
As it turned out, however chilly she was, she was still shy. The frosty Chris didn’t last two minutes before she left the stage, once again becoming flushed and adorable.
Wayne held her in his arms and headed for the bathroom, "Let’s take a quick shower first. You’ve gotten all dusty today, let me help you clean up."
They showered for a full two hours.
Although nothing happened, everything happened.
With her face flushed, Chris lay on the bed, and seeing Wayne’s mischievous smile coming closer, she buried her head in the pillow.
Such bullying! How could he do this, that, and that too.
She was tainted!
Wayne pulled her into his embrace and soothed her shyness with sweet nothings. He had been thoroughly suppressed by his senior a few times. Now neither of them was clean.
That was exactly what he wanted.
Also, after repeated verification, he found the owner of the delicate, flickable hand. The case could be closed.
"Divine Blood is too precious; those Legendary Mages are lusting after your body. Although Orpheus failed, it’s hard to guarantee others won’t get ideas. By doing this and that to you today, you are no longer pure; perhaps they won’t target you anymore," Wayne spouted all sorts of nonsense with a straight face.
There was some logic in that, at least in Dorine’s opinion. As soon as she heard that Chris had suffered hardships, she immediately turned hostile and demanded a change of personnel.
Chris didn’t quite understand and whispered a few words on Wayne’s shoulder.
She was quite reserved, but translated, her general idea was, since she was already tainted, why not go all the way?
"I would like to, but if it’s with a clear intent, how is it different from actively harming you? Then I would be no different from those Legendary Mages," he remarked.
Chris firmly believed this and, moved by her feelings, kissed the corner of Wayne’s mouth and sought another kiss.
The two of them became entangled again for a while before Wayne warned, "The High Priest of your Church means you no good. She knows you have Divine Blood and will definitely try to manipulate you in various ways. Whatever she tells you, don’t agree to it right away. Tell me first, and if I agree, then you can nod."
"The High Priest is a very nice person," Chris whispered weakly.
"You’re the only one who thinks so."
Wayne rolled his eyes, contemplating whether to read the diary to expose human malice.
But then he thought better of it, not wanting to drag Veronica into this.
He resolutely tore off Philomena’s hypocritical mask, saying, "Remember that night at Wayne Manor when I coaxed you to sleep? That night."
"What about that night?"
Chris didn’t understand, resting on Wayne’s chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, feeling sleepiness surging.
She had just learned some new knowledge not found in books, and putting it into practice was quite exhausting.
"That night you were acting oddly, almost seductive. You’re not that type of casual girl. It must have been the High Priest who tasked you with it, making you do that," Wayne said irritably, the thought always making him angry. freewёbnoνel.com
"Ah, that..."
Chris lifted her head, suddenly not sleepy anymore, and explained, "The High Priest indeed had that idea, but she gave up at the last moment. She said you were a good person but not necessarily a good man. Fearing I’d lose out, she just... did it herself."
"???"
A string of question marks floated over Wayne’s head as he clutched the key word and held Chris tightly, "Don’t listen to her nonsense. It’s all slander, I’m definitely a good man!"
"..."
"Chris, say something!"
"Even if you were the Devil, I would still love you," Chris affirmed.
For her, Wayne wasn’t afraid to die; what did it matter if he was a bit bad? She could change him, and from now on, she would like the bad.
When you dislike someone, no matter how many strengths they have, you only focus on their faults.
The converse is also true, when you like someone, no matter how many flaws they have, you only see their strengths.
This, this is love!
Chris knew Wayne was up to no good, eyeing to juggle three boats, but because she liked him, she pushed her unhappiness back and chose to take it one step at a time.
No big deal, Wayne and Veronica were siblings, doomed not to end up together, and Villi...
Silly little Villi, better left unspoken!
Finding these reasons, Chris was convinced she had already won.
Seeing her laugh so happily, Wayne was puzzled, feeling a tickle on his scalp, "The High Priest didn’t ask you to seduce me... What was going on with you that night, why did you suddenly take the initiative?"
Wayne felt terrible. His main reason for courting Philomena was based on the premise that Chris was being bullied. Without that premise, all his actions lost their moral high ground.
Damn, the cad is me!
