Mystic Calling:Stone of Glory-Chapter 314: Accept the quest
Chapter 314: Accept the quest
"Yes, Master. Don’t worry—leave this to me. I’ll kill them all..."
Seraphina suddenly spoke up, her voice cold as ice. Her eyes gleamed with a deadly light, the killing intent practically radiating off her.
"I’m in too!" Elyra chimed in right after, nodding firmly.
Magic surged around her, crackling with light and thunder, the energy building in waves.
"But, my lord... disguising ourselves as Dungeon units could be risky. The illusion might not hold up..." Zyraxis said hesitantly.
His illusion magic was impressive, sure—but far from flawless. Especially against high-level enemies, it was full of holes. Any powerful opponent could see right through it. If they got exposed, the whole plan could fall apart in an instant.
"We’re doing it anyway," Ethan said, shaking his head, resolute. "They’re too busy to notice us right now. And even if we do get spotted, we’ll just fight our way through. The key is to sneak in first and strike when the moment’s right. If we miss that window, none of this will matter."
Zyraxis opened his mouth to argue—but stopped himself.
Then, without another word, he cast his illusion spell. In a flash, Ethan, Auremax, and Seraphina were transformed into high-tier Dungeon units—Red Dragons and Shadow Dragons, indistinguishable from the real thing.
"All right. Let’s move."
Ethan’s voice was low and steady. "Seraphina, Auremax—if you see a clear shot to seriously wound any one of the three, don’t hesitate. Don’t get greedy. Just strike. With our current strength, if we can land a critical hit, we can finish the job."
"As for the rest... we’ll leave that to luck."
His plan was simple: kill at least one. Two would be a huge win.
Even taking down one of them would be a massive gain. Two? That’d be hitting the jackpot. But they couldn’t afford to get overconfident—one wrong move, and they’d lose everything.
"Yes, Master!"
"Understood, my lord!"
Seraphina and Auremax nodded in unison.
"Let’s go."
Ethan’s eyes flashed as he turned and charged toward the battlefield.
Auremax and Seraphina followed right behind him without hesitation.
And just then—
Ding!
A system notification rang in Ethan’s ears.
"Congratulations, player Valkarion, you’ve triggered a special hidden quest: Eliminate the Dungeon Lords... Questline initializing. Please wait."
Ding!
"Questline initialized. Objective: Eliminate the three Dungeon Heroes—Venomspike Manticore Drexon, Dark Hydra Xenodrath, and Venomspike Manticore Skarvex."
"Kill one Dungeon Hero: Quest difficulty S+."
"Kill two Dungeon Heroes: Quest difficulty SS."
"Kill all three Dungeon Heroes: Quest difficulty SS." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
"Failure to kill at least one Dungeon Hero will result in mission failure. Killing one counts as Phase One success. The quest has four total phases."
"Warning: This quest is extremely dangerous. Proceed with caution. Abandoning the quest will count as failure."
"Note: The more regular Dungeon units you kill, the faster your progress and the higher your completion rating."
Enemy forces detected:
Tier 14 Black Dragons: 146
Tier 13 Red Dragons: 167
Tier 13 Shadow Dragons: 123
Tier 12 Dark Hydras: 330
Tier 12 Venomspike Manticores: 530
Tier 12 Shadow Matriarchs: 230
"Do you accept the quest?"
The moment Ethan saw the quest details, even with his usually rock-solid composure, his face twitched hard—like, visibly.
"...Are you kidding me with this many regular units?!"
Sure, compared to Hero Units—or hell, even Crimson Ultimate Heroes—regular troops weren’t supposed to be a big deal.
But that really depended on the context.
We’re talking over a hundred Tier 14 Mythic Units, nearly three hundred Tier 13 Legendary Units, and more than a thousand Tier 12 Royal Units...
That was just straight-up insane.
"Good thing the Firebird and Phoenix sanctuaries have their own Legendary Firebirds and Mythic Phoenixes holding the line. Otherwise, how the hell would we even fight this? It’d be a total wipe."
"Accept the quest."
Without hesitation, Ethan confirmed it.
No time to waste.
Just from the mission description alone, he could tell—this wasn’t just a quest. It was a full-blown war. And it couldn’t drag on. If the Firebirds and Phoenixes in the sanctuary couldn’t hold out, if their frontline collapsed...
Then it was game over. No second chances.
With that many enemy units, plus those three Dungeon Lords? There’d be no way to win. Zero chance. Not even a miracle would save them.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, the fight between the Firebird Hero Isaryne and the three Dungeon Lords was reaching a whole new level of brutal.
"ROAAARRR!"
A thunderous roar ripped from Isaryne’s throat, shaking the skies.
Right now, she was like a lioness in a frenzy—relentless, ferocious, launching wave after wave of attacks. Fire magic exploded around her, scorching the air as she tried to punch through their formation, desperate to turn the tide.
But her enemies—the three Dungeon Lords—weren’t giving her even a sliver of a chance.
Their coordination was flawless. Whether they were attacking together, splitting up, defending, baiting, or distracting, they executed everything with surgical precision. No gaps. No mistakes. No openings.
And that left her with nothing.
No way to break through. No chance to turn the fight around.
Although most people saw the Dungeon faction as nothing more than a bunch of bloodthirsty maniacs—brutal, savage, and obsessed with head-on violence—that was just their style.
It didn’t mean that was all they were capable of.
In fact, it was no exaggeration to say that these three Dungeon Lords had reached their current level of power, status, and infamy by surviving—and dominating—more battles than that Firebird Hero could probably even imagine. Hundreds? Thousands? Easily.
Everyone knew the Dungeon faction was basically in a constant state of civil war.
Day in, day out.
Year after year.
Nonstop bloodshed.
That was just life for them.
Even the Devils of the Inferno faction couldn’t match the sheer frequency and brutality of the Dungeon’s internal conflicts. Which meant that anyone who not only survived in that kind of hellish environment but actually rose to the top—someone who carved their way through the chaos and claimed the title of Dungeon Lord—
That person’s combat experience and battlefield instincts?
Absolutely terrifying.
Monstrously sharp.
And that’s exactly why, as the fight dragged on, even though Isaryne was a Crimson Ultimate Hero—and one who had undergone a second awakening—she was still being pushed further and further into a corner.
She was losing.
And fast.
Ethan watched it all unfold, his heart pounding with urgency—but there was nothing he could do. Not yet. As much as he wanted to jump in, he knew better. His goal wasn’t to save her—it was to kill.
If he moved too soon, all he’d do was blow their cover and ruin everything.
So he held back.
Grinding his teeth, fists clenched, he waited.
Waited for the right moment to strike.
Meanwhile, the battle between the Firebird Hero and the three Dungeon Lords had reached a fever pitch.
