Chapter 152: Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw

A Level 6 castle? That was on a whole different level.

It meant access to Tier 14 Mythic Units’ Creature Dwellings!

Given enough time to build up their forces, a faction with a Level 6 castle wouldn’t just be a regional power—they’d be on the path to becoming a dominant force.

And if luck was on their side? A faction with a Level 6 castle as its stronghold could even rise to the status of a major faction!

Contrary to popular belief, you didn’t need a Level 7 castle to be considered a major faction.

In fact, the vast majority of major factions had Level 6 castles as their main bases.

To this day, only two factions were officially recognized as having a Level 7 castle as their headquarters.

One was the Draconic Empire, which had been crushed long ago.

The other? The Undead Necropolis, the kingdom of the dead.

Aside from those two, even legendary factions like Inferno, Dungeon, and Castle only had Level 6 castles.

Sure, they had multiple Level 6 castles, but not a single Level 7 among them.

That alone showed just how unbelievably difficult it was to reach Level 7.

So dreaming about a Level 7 castle? That was pure fantasy.

Even a Level 5 castle was something Ethan wouldn’t dare to hope for—at least not yet.

But now, Emerald Castle was about to reach Level 3.

After a long internal discussion, everyone agreed:

The first branch castle of Emerald Castle would be built right here, on the ruins of The Lost Realms!

There were two major reasons for this decision:

First, the abundant crystal resources in the Gleaming Forest were of immense strategic value to Emerald Castle.

Second, and more importantly—the Legendary Unit dwelling here:

The Sacred Ancient Tree, home to the Ancient War Tree!

Just like the Dragon Cliff, the Sacred Ancient Tree had now become one of Emerald Castle’s trump cards.

It was worth the investment.

Before long, Ethan and Elynn arrived at the heart of The Lost Realms, standing before the Sacred Ancient Tree.

[Sacred Ancient Tree]

Allows you to contract and recruit Tier 13 unit: Ancient War Tree.

Recruitment limit: 2/1 (Newly occupied Creature Dwellings grant an initial bonus recruitment slot).

Recruitment day: First day of each natural month.

Recruitment cost: 20 million coins, 1,000 crystals.

At that moment, a system notification suddenly rang in Ethan’s ears.

"Would you like to recruit a Tier 13 Ancient War Tree?"

"Recruit!"

BOOM!

The ground beneath The Lost Realms trembled violently!

The Sacred Ancient Tree erupted with a blinding light, unleashing an overwhelming surge of power.

Like ripples spreading across a pond, the energy waves expanded outward, growing stronger and stronger...

"ROAR!"

A deep, guttural growl echoed from within the Sacred Ancient Tree, raspy and ancient.

Suddenly, massive vines—thick as pythons—burst forth from the blinding light, writhing and twisting like living tornadoes, their sheer force shaking the very ground beneath them.

"RUMBLE—"

And then, from within that radiant glow, a colossal figure emerged.

The earth shuddered, the land quaked.

"Hiss—"

Ethan’s pupils contracted as he instinctively sucked in a sharp breath.

The thing stepping out of the light was massive—far larger than he had anticipated.

And when it finally fully emerged, standing before him in its full glory, Ethan was stunned.

"Holy hell... that thing is huge."

Muttering under his breath, he tilted his head back, trying to take in the sheer scale of the creature.

It was a gigantic Treant, towering like a skyscraper—no, far beyond that.

It had to be tens of thousands of feet tall, easily dwarfing any man-made structure Ethan had ever seen.

Standing beneath it, he felt insignificant, as if the creature could blot out the sky itself.

It was like staring up at a living mountain, a monolithic force of nature.

"This size... is it a unit hero?"

Ethan quickly pulled up its status panel.

[Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw]

Tier: 13

HP: 21,000

Attack: 157

Defense: 122

Damage: 288~333

Innate Ability: Cataclysmic Throw

(Draws power from the earth, creating an enormous boulder to hurl at enemies, dealing devastating damage. Both single-target and area-of-effect damage are terrifyingly high.)

Overall Potential Rating: S-Class

Ethan blinked.

"It has a name... and the system even gave it an overall potential rating? I knew it—this is a special unit!"

For a moment, he was stunned.

Then, excitement surged through him. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

This wasn’t just any Legendary Unit—this was a special unit with the potential to become a unit hero!

Just like Green Dragon Orryn.

But judging from the stats and the S-Class potential rating, this Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw was even stronger than Orryn!

In other words, this one Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw had the combat power of four or five other Tier 13 Legendary Units combined!

Jackpot.

"RUMBLE—"

The ground trembled once more as the Ancient War Tree Oakenmaw slowly lowered itself, kneeling before Ethan.

Its deep, resonant voice carried a sense of ancient wisdom and unwavering loyalty.

"Oakenmaw of the Ancient War Tree Clan greets you, my honored Lord. May the glory of Earth Dragon Sylena be with you."

Ethan’s eyes flickered at the mention of Earth Dragon Sylena.

In the world of Glory Lords X, Sylena was one of the Dragon Gods, representing laws, magic, and order.

She was on the same level as Holy Dragon Elrath.

More importantly, Earth Dragon Sylena was the chief deity of all Forest-aligned factions.

Ethan smiled.

"Oakenmaw, I’m glad to have you with us. I hope you’ll enjoy your time in Emerald Castle—"

"ROOOOAAARRR!"

Before he could finish, a piercing dragon’s roar echoed from the distant sky.

Ethan’s expression shifted.

"A dragon?"

Oakenmaw’s massive form tensed.

Sensing the overwhelming pressure from afar, the Ancient War Tree immediately shifted into a battle stance, its deep voice filled with urgency.

"Honored Lord, please stand behind me!"

Even though the Draconic Empire had long since fallen, dragons were still absolute apex predators in the world of Glory Lords X.

Their mere presence was enough to make people tremble.

If it was just a Tier 13 Legendary Dragon, Oakenmaw wouldn’t be too concerned.

With his strength, he could easily take on three or four Legendary Dragons at once.

Even if they were Red Dragons, known as the strongest of the Legendary Dragon species, he could still handle two or three without much trouble.

But this power...

This aura...

It was far beyond that of a Legendary Dragon.

It was stronger—much stronger.

Oakenmaw’s heart sank.

Had he just been summoned, only to face certain doom?

But then—

Ethan suddenly laughed.

"Relax, Oakenmaw. It’s one of ours."
