Race: Angel

Tier: Crimson Ultimate Hero!

Magic Damage: 352–781

...

Overall Evaluation: C-rank Crimson Ultimate Hero!

How should I put this?

Strong.

Ridiculously strong.

Absolutely devastating.

No surprise, considering he’s a hero born from a Tier 13 Legendary Unit—an Angel.

No surprise, considering he’s a C-rank Crimson Ultimate.

But these stats... they’re downright terrifying.

Ethan fell silent for a moment.

Just then, the other man smiled slightly and said, "Nice to meet you. I’m Cain, Lord of Valkarion. Greetings."

"I’m Valkarion... Lord Cain, greetings..." Ethan realized he was a bit tense. Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself before finally meeting Cain’s gaze and asking slowly, "So, what brings you to me?"

There were only three possible reasons Cain would seek him out:

First—Roland.

Second—Seraphina.

Third—Inferno.

Beyond that, there wasn’t much else.

Cain’s eyes flickered as he looked at Ethan. "There’s something I’d like to ask you, Lord Valkarion..."

"How much do you know about Inferno?"

"Inferno?" Ethan frowned, momentarily caught off guard. "What do you mean?"

"I suspect Inferno is preparing for war again," Cain said slowly. "I don’t have proof, but I have a feeling you might know something."

Ethan fell into an even deeper silence.

How the hell did he figure that out?!

Seeing Ethan’s reaction, Cain’s expression remained unchanged, but he pressed on.

"Lord Valkarion, I won’t try to guilt-trip you with talk of the Light Alliance, but you should understand—Inferno’s movements are a serious matter. If war breaks out, your Forest faction won’t be spared either. If you know something, it’s better for everyone to be prepared rather than caught off guard."

As he spoke, Cain removed a pair of bracelets from his wrist, then took off a necklace from around his neck, along with a white Angel medal.

He placed them in front of Ethan before speaking again, his voice calm.

"These three items... I imagine they might interest you."

Hiss...

Ethan’s face remained neutral, but inside, he was completely floored.

Seventy points to Attack and Defense?

Thirty-five points to Spell Power and Knowledge?

Magic damage boost and resistance on top of that?!

But the biggest shocker—this thing could upgrade Holy Armament’s tier?!

Holy Armament at +1 tier would become Tier 4 Magic!

And with all the stat boosts from the Incomplete Divine Angel Set...

Gulp.

Ethan swallowed hard.

This was... a heavy gift.

But should he take it or not?

If something falls from the sky, it’s probably too hot to handle.

Besides, he was counting on the Dungeon faction teaming up with Inferno to catch the Light Alliance off guard. That way, in the chaos of war, Emerald Castle could seize the opportunity to rise.

If he spilled the beans now and the Light Alliance got wind of it, wouldn’t that ruin his entire plan?

Just then, Cain, watching Ethan’s lack of reaction, suddenly shook his head and said flatly, "I see."

"See what?" Ethan blinked in confusion.

Cain’s brows furrowed, his sharp gaze locking onto Ethan. "So Inferno really is preparing for war. And judging by your reaction... it’s not just them, is it?"

"..."

Ethan was speechless.

So this is what ’Wisdom Angel’ means? Damn, he’s sharp.

Realizing there was no point in hiding it anymore, Ethan exhaled and said casually, "Inferno and Dungeon have joined forces."

"What?!"

Cain’s pupils contracted, his expression shifting dramatically.

"Don’t ask me how I know. Don’t ask for proof. Believe it or don’t—I don’t care. Oh, and I’m taking these."

Without hesitation, Ethan grabbed the Divine Angel Bracelet, Divine Angel Necklace, and Divine Angel Medal, pocketing all three.

Then, without another word, he stood up and walked away.

Cain didn’t stop him.

Instead, he remained seated, his expression dark and heavy as he muttered to himself,

"Inferno and Dungeon... have actually joined forces?!"

If this was true, it was catastrophic.

Because either Inferno or Dungeon alone had the power to challenge the Light Alliance.

But if the two of them teamed up?

That would be an apocalypse.

...

After leaving the tavern, Ethan flipped through his magic skills—Holy Armament.

Holy Armament, a Pseudo-Tier 4 Magic, could summon armor infused with Light energy, putting him into a battle-ready state.

In its combat form, Holy Armament boosted Tier 4 and below Light Magic damage by 20%, Tier 3 and below by 100%, and Tier 2 and below by a staggering 400%. It also increased Light Magic resistance by 40%, HP by 50%, and granted +60 to attack and defense attributes, along with +20 to Spell Power and Knowledge. Oh, and it allowed flight!

It came with an additional effect—Heavenfire Burn.

(Deals 300 HP damage per minute for 10 minutes. Damage is doubled against Inferno faction units and heroes. Ineffective against Light faction units.)

Cooldown: 10 minutes.

However, its damage against unit heroes was reduced by 90%.

It also had a countering effect against Inferno and Necropolis faction units!

"Damn..." Ethan couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

Then, excitement surged through him.

"No wonder it’s Tier 4 Holy Armament—this is insane!"

Compared to his previous Tier 3 Holy Armament, this new version had basically doubled all its base stats!

And on top of that, it had gained a brand-new magical effect—Heavenfire Burn.

A continuous damage-over-time ability!

And the total damage? A whopping 3,000 HP!

What did that mean in practical terms? ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

To put it simply—Ethan could now instantly kill almost any wild, non-hero-controlled unit below Tier 11 Royal Units just by touching them!

Even the so-called "strongest melee unit", the Tier 10 Minotaur King, only had 2,700 HP—not even enough to survive the Heavenfire Burn!

That was terrifying.

A skill like this? Absolutely broken.

The only downside was that Heavenfire Burn was nearly useless against unit heroes.

Since its damage against them was reduced tenfold, that meant it only dealt 300 HP total.

For unit heroes, that was basically a scratch.

But then again, this was just Pseudo-Tier 4 Magic.

If it were a true Tier 4 Magic, the power would probably be several times more devastating!

Ethan was beyond excited at the thought.

With that in mind, he glanced at his status panel.

...

Hero Talent:

Green Dragon Lord (Boosts the damage of his personal Tier 13 Green Dragon by 5%. +3 to Attack and Defense.)

Overall Rating: SSS-Tier Epic (Purple) Hero.

"Damn, these stats are insane..." Ethan swallowed hard, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Triple-digit attack and defense stats. A massive 7,500 HP, making him as tough as a Tier 12 peak unit, maybe even Tier 13!

And the craziest part? This wasn’t even his peak form.

With Tier 4 Holy Armament boosting his HP by 50%, attack and defense by 60, and Spell Power and Knowledge by 20, he could absolutely go toe-to-toe with Tier 13 units—maybe even dominate them!

For Ethan, this was a massive leap in power.

And the best part? He still had plenty of room to grow.

The most straightforward way? Strategic Artifacts.

In Glory Lords X, Strategic Artifacts came in many forms, but the ones a hero could actually equip were divided into nine categories: Weapon, Helmet, Necklace, Armor, Shield, Cloak, Gloves (or Bracers), Boots, and Miscellaneous.

The Miscellaneous category had three slots.

Which meant that in Glory Lords X, unit heroes could equip up to eleven artifacts in total.

And right now? Ethan was only using four: Weapon, Necklace, Bracer, and Medal (Miscellaneous).

That left seven empty slots.

If he could fully equip all eleven slots, maxing out his gear?

Forget Tier 13 Legendary Units—he might even be able to take on Tier 14 Mythic Units!

But there was a catch.

To make that happen, all his artifacts needed to be at least Tier 3 or Tier 4.

Anything below Tier 3? Not good enough.

Sure, even lower-tier artifacts provided decent boosts, but against Legendary Units and above, they just wouldn’t cut it.

But getting eleven Tier 3 or Tier 4 Strategic Artifacts?

Damn near impossible.

Because, let’s be real—anything Tier 3 or higher was a prize every major faction would fight over.

Nobody would willingly give them up. And getting them through normal means? Not a chance.

Which was why Ethan was still in shock that he had actually gotten his hands on the Incomplete Divine Angel Set from Wisdom Angel Cain today.

Honestly, he hadn’t even expected it.

At first, he had hesitated to accept it.

Sure, the gear was amazing, but taking it meant owing Cain a favor—and that could complicate his plans to stay under the radar while growing stronger.

But in the end? He had no choice.

Cain was too sharp—he had already figured things out.

There was no point in hiding anymore.

Might as well take the gear and move forward.

"And judging by the way he was talking earlier... it sounds like the Light Alliance is struggling against the Inferno-Dungeon coalition?"

Ethan frowned, recalling Cain’s words.

"If that’s true... then this might actually be good news for me."

Muttering to himself, he turned and walked away.

Disappearing into the shadows at the edge of town.
