My Wife is a Dead Villainess, and I'm Her Living Weapon-Chapter 137: Sun
Chapter 137: Sun
"..."
The four people present turned quiet. Elian didn’t know what Charlotte and Ned were thinking. He was focused on watching the adorable reactions from his lover. They had been trying to get the other to cave and say the dreaded "I love you."
And to give Bianca some moral support, Elian was fine conceding. But contrary to his expectations, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down. Then, like a lioness devouring her prey, the witch attacked his lips.
Bianca kissed him breathless. When she pulled back, her eyes were glassy and her chest heaving.
"No," Bianca whispered.
Elian blinked. "Huh?"
"I’ll wait," she said. "I will wait for the day your affection for me overflows. Not for saving a city. Not because I begged. But because you can’t stop yourself."
He couldn’t look away from the woman in his arms.
Then—quieter, almost shy—she added, "And...I want you to do it again...Your proposal to me."
Elian cracked a smile. "You want a redo?"
She nodded, red to the ears. "This time... do it in front of the world." She huffed afterward, adorably petulant. "Fluffy ruined your proposal. I didn’t even get my ring. It should have been mine, but I was too embarrassed to ask for it."
"Why?" he asked, grin widening.
"D-Do I have to?"
"We can skip it then."
"Tsk. Fine! After today, girls are going to throw themselves at you. Even ones not from this planet. So I want everyone to know—I live in your heart. I am number one. There! Happy?!" the witch confessed with an adorable pout.
"Okay, I accept."
Elian and Bianca laughed at the absurdity of their relationship. There were mere minutes away from being nuked out of existence, yet they were not afraid. Somehow, even if Bianca failed, they were fine dying here as well.
And though neither of them said it, they both knew that such was the case. Those around them, however, had other things in mind.
"HA! I told you I didn’t make a mistake ruining Elian’s awful proposal! The city gets saved because of me! Alright, you oversized matchstick, pay up."
"I hardly think that this proves your point, Lady Fluffy. First of all, you weren’t even supposed to speak in someone else’s proposal."
"Oh my, I get to see the so-called human proposal? Now all that is needed is a litter of human pups and our family will be perfect."
"Silent, please stop pushing your daughters to have children; they are far too young."
"Uh...Lotte?"
"Yes, Neddy?"
"These people are weird."
"Yes, they most certainly are."
Although the humans around them wanted to rage and demand Bianca to get to work, they couldn’t. Not because they didn’t know where the witch was, but because no one had the courage to make a sound.
After all, with the invasion over, the large portal changed to pink, signifying the end of the battle. That meant the thousands of metallic beings who were rampaging around the battlefield earlier no longer had anyone to play with.
Like an army of black statues, they lined up in formations around Elian’s party. From the massive wolves, the humanoid lobsters, the flying shrimp, to the Flame Swallows, the army was fully present. Although the people had cheered for them earlier, now they shivered with worry.
No one here would be stupid enough to pick a fight with the army that just butchered an alien invasion. But few could watch the timer for the nuke tick down with Bianca and Elian still flirting.
Eventually, Charlotte decided to bite the bullet.
"Uhm, I am sorry for ruining your fun, but can you both, like, I dunno, turn on your super weapon or something? The nuke is on its way toward us and will arrive in five minutes."
Bianca frowned but separated herself from Elian.
"You are all worrying too much. The nuke is still flying over land. If I detonate it now, at least two cities will be obliterated. I already calculated the time and place I will shoot it. Stop interrupting me, Char," she complained as she placed her hands on her hips.
"I know your relationship with Ned is platonic, but do keep your envy in check. It is unsightly."
Charlotte tried very hard to stop herself from shouting. Elian practically saw the vein throbbing at her temple. Eventually, she managed to grunt out with much difficulty, "Is that so? Hohoho! We truly are lucky to have you, Velvet."
Meanwhile, Ned approached Elian and punched him in the shoulder.
"You bastard! You already proposed? When were you going to tell me? You already got a best man?"
Not minding the hit, Elian nodded and placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder, "It was months ago, I even forgot to an extent. I don’t. Mind being my best man?"
Ned chuckled as he raised his fist and held it toward Elian, "Like you have any other friends, you weirdo."
"Who are you calling a weirdo?" Elian replied as he bumped his fist on Ned’s. "Just say you want me to be the best man for your wedding to Lotte too; your roundabout asks are a pain to understand."
Ned’s smile grew wider as he hugged Elian. "Thanks, brother, I knew I could ask you."
"Anytime, brother."
The sounds of blades being drawn resounded. It was the Weapons close to the edge of the perimeter. Someone other than Elian’s group tried to approach them.
Elian turned to see Max and Tessa warily looking at the Weapons around them. The two were slowly inching their way towards the center of the battlefield. The metallic golems all around them only looked, but did not attack.
"Son-in-law, do we kill them?"
Silent’s question was dripping with hostility. Despite just fighting a huge war, the Weapons of Valestra were still hungry for battle, and it showed.
"No, don’t bother Mother-in-law. Instead, we should watch Bianca now."
"Oh? I have been using a smartphone to connect to the internet; humans really have a lot of interesting inventions. The nuke coming to us is dangerous, yes?"
"Yes," Elian agreed. "It is practically mankind’s strongest non-mana-influenced armament."
"And your fellow humans decided to shoot it at us here despite all of them running away?"
"Yes."
At his words, Elian felt Silent’s entire body rippling. Her rage resonated with his metal; it felt like he too could feel the former Snow Wolf’s emotions.
"And my daughter had to live with such honorless jackals her entire life." She turned to Elian with her teeth bared, "Son-in-law, I reserve the right to kill the one called the pope."
Surprised at the intensity of the emotion coming from Silent, Elian shook his head to regain his composure. "Sure, I don’t mind."
Just then, Bianca skipped towards Elian and threw her arms around him. They shared a short, intimate kiss.
"Wish me luck."
"You got this," Elian said affectionately.
Giggling, Bianca slowly raised her body to the sky. Floating upward, she ascended and pulled out her sniper rifle. The humans who were anxious finally cheered in joy when they saw someone from Elian’s camp leave.
High up in the sky, the Flame Swallows noticed Bianca and grew excited.
"IS IT TIME, MASTER?"
"THE SUN! THE SUN! THE SUN!"
"ARE WE FINALLY ATTACKING SOMETHING?"
Bianca smiled wryly as she explained, "Yes, there is a missile coming here from that direction. We will shoot the ’Sun’ that way."
"OKAY!"
"LET’S GO! EVERYONE!"
"HEHEHEHE FINALLYYY! FINALLLYYY!!!"
The extraordinary fervor of the Flame Swallows was infectious. Although the invasion happened during the night, it was immensely bright in Crestfall City. The reason was the over three thousand Flame Swallows circling around the sky.
And now they burned even brighter.
Few would know that of the three thousand swallows, Burny had them attack in waves. Two would wreak havoc and one would stay back until one of the first two waves returned to the sky. Against their nature, they kept circling in the sky, heating up everything in the vicinity.
Bianca raised her hands and snapped her fingers. Within that moment, a sharp crack resounded. Like thunder, it rumbled and caused the air to quake.
It was so loud that even the humans heard it down below.
"YO! Look up at the sky; what is that?!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, I have never seen anything like this in my career as a reporter!"
"See that chat? I am zoomed in, but all I see is a frozen ball. Is that the moon?"
"Bianca Valestra and the Flame Swallows are doing something. What, I don’t know yet."
Thousands of Ice VII mirrors appeared in the vicinity. Like synchronized snowflakes, they arranged themselves in sequence like an array. Then Bianca pulled out more and more Fralhame Lances. There were over a hundred of them.
A gigantic ball of ice slowly lowered itself. It was like the moon descending to Earth. Then more cracking sounds followed. Fissures began to run along the ice ball till eventually it cracked. The moment it did, immense blinding light came out.
The ice ball deteriorated even further. Like an iceberg falling apart, large chunks of the ice planet began to break off. But rather than crash to the ground, they reformed into Ice VII mirrors and joined those already flying in the sky.
They grew so numerous that they began to look like one gigantic mirror. Shielding those below from what was to come.
Seeing what Bianca was doing, Elian could only stare dumbfounded. "Good lord, this woman, I knew she was lying. How in the world is that just a bit complicated?!" freewebnoveℓ.com
With the ice completely reformed, what appeared was a small sun. A ball of hot gases that burned at super-hot temperatures. Its energies were reflected by the thousands of mirrors into the 108 Fralhame Lances floating beside Bianca.
Elian could see her face strained and her complexion pale, but she still raised her rifle and roared.
"Feel the power of the sun! FRALHAME LANCE MODE: X HOWLING!"
And as if a deity threw a spear of fire, the Fralhame Lances discharged a solar flare big enough to paint the sky red.
