My Wife and I Became Sages in Another World-Chapter 461: The Primal Demon’s Fall
Chapter 461: The Primal Demon’s Fall
After the World Titan and the Primal Demon interrupted my fight with Xalathas, I realized that having the two giants on the battlefield was hindering us, so I thought about a way to help out the dwarves.
I quickly grabbed my voice crystal and sent them a message, telling the dwarves to do everything they could to keep the Primal Demon down.
Not even a second after I sent the message, Xalathas appeared before me and clawed the air, releasing a wave of demonic energy that slashed my shoulder and pushed me back a few meters.
Fortunately, my skin felt as tough as a dragon’s, so I only received a small cut. Still, I was surprised that my poncho managed to get sliced so easily.
When the dwarves started following my order, the World Titan began to emit blue light from the seams between its body parts while holding the Primal Demon down with both arms.
Xalathas kept attacking me with physical attacks, waving his blade and shooting out numerous "space-slicing" magical cuts through the air. However, I had already seen them once, so my instincts helped me avoid them.
’Is he trying to stop me from helping the dwarves?’ I pondered, sharpening my gaze and focusing on finding an opening.
As I took a deep breath, I suddenly felt the entire battlefield going silent and my vision losing color, leaving everything in shades of black and white.
’What is this...?’ I thought, looking around me with slight perplexion.
When I stared at Xalathas, I could see a bright red aura around him, and it was the only color I could detect with my eyes.
"Ah, I get it..." I muttered.
It was as if knowledge was flooding my mind, which made me understand that, thanks to Ovi’s fusion with me, I was using an ability called "dragon vision."
The moment that Xalathas moved a muscle to attack me, I had already evaded it. My speed hadn’t changed one bit—I was simply able to detect everything much faster.
Before Xalathas could back off and think of another method to attack, my eyes showed me a red trail in the air that I instantly knew I had to follow.
’That’s the opening!’ I thought, bolting forward and charging a small orb of lava in my right palm.
Using light magic to warp at the speed of light, I appeared right next to Xalathas and placed my right hand on the side of his torso, unleashing a powerful blast of lava that blasted him hundreds of meters away from me.
With the Demon King out of my sight, I looked back at the World Titan holding down the Primal Demon, and I clasped my hands together, feeling a surge of incredible power coursing through my body.
At that moment, the ground under the Primal Demon began to shake and crumble violently, creating a hole that made him slowly sink down, along with the World Titan sitting on top.
The size of the hole was larger than any crater my meteorites could produce—capable of destroying any of the cities I had visited in mere seconds.
It almost looked like the obsidian stone ground had turned into shifting sands that had taken the Primal Demon hostage. Still, I wasn’t done with my attack.
After a few seconds, when the Primal Demon had sunk almost his entire torso underground, the hole started to fill up with lava, prompting the monster to shout in pain with an obnoxiously loud roar.
The titan’s feet and hands were also getting covered in lava, but the titan’s armor allowed it to endure the heat.
It was only a matter of time before the Primal Demon died when I sensed Drakzen approaching me, though it was already too late for him to stop me.
Thankfully, I could also sense that the soldiers on the ground floor were evacuating the continent, although I wasn’t sure where they were being sent to.
Vespera said she would use her magic quartz to teleport them away, but as far as I knew, my companion only had a crystal that could teleport her to End Forest, which wasn’t exactly the safest place, but it was still better than the battlefield.
As Drakzen got closer to me, I grabbed my bo and waved it sideways, unleashing a wave of lava that shot out with pressure and covered a wide area around me.
Suddenly, I felt someone grabbing me by the ankles and stabbing my legs with their claws, making me lose balance in the air and throwing me down to the ground with force.
While I plummeted to the ground, I saw Agares’s face grinning from above, which made me clench my teeth with anger and annoyance.
"Ichiro!" Jackson shouted, stopping a few meters away from my landing spot.
"The bastard keeps scurrying away..." he said with an apologetic tone.
The ancient demon was eager to keep fighting me, so he did his best to escape his other opponents just to interrupt me. Still, I was surprised he was able to grab my ankles while I was in my Awakened form.
Fortunately, Xalathas was being held back by Melina and our companions quite far from our location, or the destruction that we would have caused with both of our Awakenings would have been more severe.
When Agares bolted down towards us, Jackson aimed his spear upwards and threw it straight at the ancient demon, who had to stop and block with his claws so as not to get impaled.
Without saying a word, Jackson looked at me and nodded with confidence before jumping and catching Agares mid-air, covering his fist in demonic energy and striking him on the ribs.
Everything looked like I could focus back on Drakzen, but when I saw him hovering near the burning primal demon with a grin, a terrible feeling washed over me.
*Tch!* "Drakzen!" I shouted, using light magic to travel as quickly as possible to his location.
Nonetheless, right as I appeared next to him, Drakzen opened one of his black vials and began to absorb the gigantic body of the primal demon, releasing a wave of demonic energy that pushed me back and prevented me from stopping him.
I was mostly shocked at the fact that I couldn’t break through the energy with my Awakening, so I knew that I had to use a lot more of my power, even if that meant deleting half of the Lost Continent from the map.
’Absorbing the power of the Primal Demon for himself... I thought the Demon King would’ve taken that role,’ I pondered.
In my eyes, I could sense that Drakzen was more powerful than his own king, even though the two of them hadn’t used all of their power yet, so I tried stopping him by creating and dropping a massive pillar of lava over his head.
Still, it was to no avail, as all my attacks were repelled by the demonic energy coming out of the black vial.
