My Sloppy Husband Is Actually a Handsome Bigshot!-Chapter 87: Doomed Together2
Chapter 87 - 87: Doomed Together2
Chu Xingguang heard this and looked towards the grandmother.
The grandmother looked at her with innocent eyes.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
"Old lady, my house is nearby, would you like to come home with me first, and I'll help you find your family?"
Chu Xingguang bent over, smiling gently.
"Grandma, come home with us..." Little Qilin stretched his chubby little hand, grabbing the grandmother's sleeve.
The grandmother couldn't help but nod her head...
Hearing that voice, Lin Zhenxin felt as if her entire body had frozen.
Blood dripped from the top of her head, landing on the floor with a plop, plop sound.
She slowly raised her head and first saw a pair of large hands, holding a fruit knife barehanded, with bloodstains dripping from there!
Then looking up...
Li Yanan had sprinted all the way over, panting heavily.
Even so, upon meeting Lin Zhenxin's bewildered gaze, he tried to force a slight smile on his face.
"Zhenxin, don't be afraid, let go of the knife first." The surrounding scene was blurry, only Li Yanan was clear.
Lin Zhenxin obediently let go of the knife; maybe it was the smell of blood, but her eyes were red.
The sharp blade was deeply embedded in Li Yanan's flesh, yet she remained unfazed as she pulled the fruit knife out and threw it on the ground.
With a clatter, it landed heavily on everyone's hearts!
Li Yanan's blood dripped onto Tu Wanzi's face, and she frantically wiped it off with her hand, looking terrified.
Realizing the crisis was over, Tu Wanzi flipped her eyes and fainted just like that.
Tu Shaohong hurried over to check his daughter's condition.
Seeing only two shallow cuts on her neck, the rage within him erupted!
"Call the police, report it! I want you kicked out of J City!" Tu Shaohong threatened to strike Lin Zhenxin's frail body with a heavy cane.
Lin Zhenxin felt no danger; she just looked at Li Yanan blankly.
Li Yanan reached out and pulled her into his arms, shielding her from everything.
"Yanan..." Even in his arms, Lin Zhenxin could feel how much force Tu Shaohong used.
She struggled to get up but was held tightly in his embrace.
"You're welcome to call the police and try!" The fire suppressed in Li Yanan's heart was also ignited, as he coldly looked at Tu Shaohong.
"Who do you think you are to speak to me like that?"
In J City, Tu Shaohong was a dominant figure taking half the city's influence, naturally looking down on Li Yanan.
"Mr. Tu, you'd better listen to him."
Suddenly, a serious male voice sounded within the villa.
Looking up, who else could the elegant young man be but the brilliant lawyer Xun Chen?
In the chaos, no one noticed how he entered.
"You can choose to call the police and charge my client with intentional injury, that's your right, but..."
Xun Chen looked up, his gold-rimmed glasses gleaming coldly.
"We will also charge you with abetting kidnapping."
"Xun... Chen?" Tu Shaohong looked at him; they had seen each other at several banquets and were not unfamiliar.
Of course, Tu Shaohong had heard of Xun Chen's reputation in the legal field!
"I believe with my ability, I can minimize my side's losses, and likewise, I can raise your side's losses... to the highest!"
Xun Chen's words sounded arrogant, but Tu Shaohong's expression turned serious immediately.
As a genius in the legal field, he was definitely capable of such things!
But why was Xun Chen helping the Li Family's illegitimate child?
"Elder Tu, you should be grateful that Zhenxin is unharmed, because if she were hurt, even if she killed your daughter today, I could get her released!"
Li Yanan held the frail Lin Zhenxin in his arms, blood still seeping from his palms.
"You dare..." Tu Shaohong was furious upon hearing this!
"Just watch if I dare!" With a sneer, Li Yanan turned and walked out of the villa, carrying Lin Zhenxin!
Xun Chen looked at Tu Shaohong with a look of sympathy.
"Trust me, he really dares!"
Li Yanan's hand was injured and he couldn't drive, so the task naturally fell to Xun Chen.
Lin Zhenxin looked up from his embrace, tears streaming down as she saw the state of Li Yanan's hands.
"Don't cry, it doesn't hurt at all." Li Yanan said while lying through his teeth, as Xun Chen, driving in front, couldn't help but roll his eyes.
He had glanced quickly and could see how deep the wound was.
The blade had turned the flesh over, bloody and mangled, how could it not hurt?
Lin Zhenxin knew he was trying to console her, so she didn't dare to move him recklessly, feeling suffocated with sorrow inside.
"I'll have someone find the grandmother." Li Yanan leaned forward and kissed her on the forehead, which was covered in cold sweat.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I was too impulsive..."
Even if killing Tu Wanzi wouldn't have solved anything, at that moment she felt like she was controlled by anger.
"I understand, everyone gets angry..." Li Yanan couldn't stroke her back with his hand, so he could only gently kiss her forehead.
Sometimes, the inadequacy of words can only be made up for with physical contact.
"But next time you're impulsive and angry, could you think of me?"
The fact that he said this didn't mean Li Yanan was angry.
Everyone gets angry; he just hoped that before Zhenxin made a mistake, she could have a phase to control her emotions.
He couldn't be so lucky every time to shield her from harm.
Li Yanan even dreaded to think, what if he had been a bit late today, what would be the consequences?
Xun Chen was used to seeing Li Yanan's decisive side, but it was the first time he saw him being so gentle to a woman.
Even if he wasn't used to it, it's believed even those two would probably not get used to it either.
Lin Zhenxin buried her face in Li Yanan's chest; she remembered what he had just said, even though...
This came with a bloody lesson!
She would never be so impulsive again!
Hospital.
Lin Zhenxin stayed by Li Yanan's side, not leaving even a step, watching as Xun Simiao personally treated his wound with a serious expression.
"You're really risking your life." After instructing the nurse to give Li Yanan a tetanus shot, Xun Simiao finally spoke.
"It was a special situation." He knew his limits.
He used a clever tactic while taking the knife; though the flesh seemed seriously torn, it would heal in a few days.
Xun Simiao snorted, and Lin Zhenxin's head almost buried into her chest.
"While you're at it, check Zhenxin too." Li Yanan worried she might have hidden injuries.
"The little girl is fine; you'd better worry about yourself!"
Xun Simiao glanced at Xun Chen standing not far away, his face darkened.
"Xun Chen, come with me."
The way this father and son interacted made them feel oddly distant.
After the two left, Lin Zhenxin still stood in place, not daring to move forward.
"What are you doing standing there? Come here."
As Lin Zhenxin approached, she was pulled into his embrace.
Her body suddenly relaxed, hit by waves of fear.
"I with the Tu Family... I..." Lin Zhenxin didn't know where to begin.
"Shh, it's okay, don't be afraid." Li Yanan gently comforted her as if he were soothing a child.
He already vaguely guessed most of her connection with the Tu Family.
The Tu Family once had a young lady named Tu Xinya, born to Tu Shaohong and his first wife from a business marriage.
But many years ago, the Tu Family suddenly announced that the young lady had died unexpectedly.
Even her funeral was held in a private manner.
The whole event was filled with doubt, but as time passed, people in J City seemed to have forgotten she ever existed.
"I told you, my father was a down-and-out painter, who never achieved much in his life."
"But no one knew he had once worked as a painting teacher at the Tu Family."
When she was young, her mother would often hold her and talk about these things, and despite their impoverished life, her mother's words were filled with hope.
"My mom said the luckiest thing in her life was meeting my dad."
Lin Zhenxin's mother once summed herself up like this—stubborn, cold, never likable.
As a father, Tu Shaohong clearly favored his second daughter, Tu Wanzi, more.
The girl who was like a flower, having people rushing to give her whatever she wanted.
"They met, fell in love, pledged their lives to each other—it was my father who let her feel for the first time what being loved and being important meant."
So she preferred being driven out of the Tu Family by Tu Shaohong to being with the one she loved.
"But no matter how in love, poverty brings endless woes to a marriage; their initial passion faded into frequent quarrels, all in just a few years."
A marriage without financial foundation is like a sandcastle, dispersing as soon as the tide comes.
"Although Tu Shaohong favored Tu Wanzi more, the sisters' relationship was good at the time. Tu Wanzi often secretly helped us; even now, I remember the gently smiling aunt, yet in the blink of an eye, she ended up in my father's bed."
"Until Tu Wanzi got pregnant, and the truth came to light."
Lin Zhenxin gazed into the distance with a dazed expression, as if she was recounting someone else's story.
Li Yanan held her in his arms, without saying a word.
"My mother couldn't accept the betrayal from both her husband and sister, and she broke down hysterically."
"Do you know? Through all these years, I've never forgotten the scene of my mother's departure. I clung to her leg, as she pried my fingers away one by one; her eyes were filled with hatred. She hated my dad, and by extension... hated me too!"
Just because half of my bloodline carried his genes.
Lin Zhenxin no longer wanted to speak; she struggled to restrain the urge to vomit.
Those nightmare-like memories, lingering, followed her as she grew up, embedding deep into her bones.
That's why she despised third parties so much.
Nobody understood how tremendously these self-indulgent men and women hurt others!
And that fire, and the night of rain when she was chased out of the Tu Family like a dog...
All of it made Lin Zhenxin have deep hatred towards the Tu Family!
Lin Zhenxin reached out and tightly grabbed his shirt, overwhelmed by sorrow that couldn't be expressed, and could only look up at him in pain.
"I know, I know you're feeling wronged, feeling so hurt inside."
Li Yanan sighed; he knew, the grievances that couldn't be spoken were the most genuine grievances.
