My Sloppy Husband Is Actually a Handsome Bigshot!-Chapter 37: Drop-off at the Subway Station
Chapter 37 - 37: Drop-off at the Subway Station
Both of them were really tired, so after eating, they tossed the empty plates into the sink and went to sleep.
Early the next morning, Lin Zhenxin was awakened by a feeling of being tightly confined. When she opened her eyes, she was faced with Li Yanan's magnified sleeping face.
After a few days of adjustment, she had already gotten used to the fact that the face hidden beneath the glasses was entirely different from the public's perception.
At this moment, his long arm was tightly embracing her, which was the source of the confined feeling.
So tight that Lin Zhenxin thought it was as difficult as climbing to the heavens to turn around.
She tried to push Li Yanan's shoulder. He stirred slightly. "Morning." His hoarse voice was tinged with a sleepy sexiness.
"Morning. Are you going to work today?"
Upon hearing Lin Zhenxin's voice, Li Yanan didn't reply. Instead, he extended his hand to rest on the cheek she had been hit on last night.
After she'd fallen asleep last night, he had helped her with an ice pack. It seemed to be quite effective.
"No, but I need to go somewhere." It seemed he was still not fully awake, as he spoke without opening his eyes.
Lin Zhenxin nodded. It so happened she needed to go out today as well.
They shared a brief moment of silence for a few minutes before Lin Zhenxin wanted him to get off her, "Um..."
Li Yanan finally opened his eyes, his deep black pupils seemed bottomless, causing dizziness when looked at closely.
"Xinxin, Xinxin..." The banging on the door was loud, and grandma once again rescued her from water and fire.
"Grandma is calling me," Lin Zhenxin softly bit her lower lip, whispering.
Li Yanan quickly buried his face into her neck and hair, inhaling deeply twice. The warmth teasingly tingled Lin Zhenxin's skin through her hair.
She suddenly wanted to laugh, and in fact, she did laugh out loud.
As expected, after giving her a fierce glare, Li Yanan finally turned over and got out of bed.
Lin Zhenxin slowly covered her face with the thin quilt, the lingering scent of Li Yanan still present, as the smile on her lips grew wider.
She felt that her laughter earlier had really angered him a bit.
That resentful gaze...
Aunt Xu had prepared breakfast, and for this, grandma was visibly pleased.
After Lin Zhenxin finished washing up and changing her clothes, she came out and immediately saw the coat she had left in the banquet hall last night lying on the sofa.
She instinctively looked towards Li Yanan. He no longer had his morning drowsiness and had barbecue pork buns placed in front of him.
Seeing Lin Zhenxin look over, he pushed the buns towards her, along with a peeled hard-boiled egg as a bonus.
"It's been dry cleaned. Eat breakfast properly. I'll try to be back before lunch."
It was obvious that Li Yanan was about to head out.
"Give me a lift to the subway station. I need to go out too," Lin Zhenxin also stood up...
Despite Li Yanan saying he'd drop her off, Lin Zhenxin didn't want to delay his matters, so she ended up getting off at the subway station.
While she was at it, she bought a bunch of white daisies in the underground passage; her destination was the South City Cemetery.
Seeing members of the Tu Family again last night made the memories she had buried for a long time boil over once more, which was why she needed to go to the cemetery to calm down.
The cemetery was at the subway's final stop, and the journey took more than forty minutes, very long.
But for a preoccupied Lin Zhenxin, it was just the blink of an eye.
Upon exiting the subway station, the cold wind instantly blew into her coat. This was, after all, the suburb of the city and not the Qingming Festival; there were few people around.
Relying on her memory, Lin Zhenxin quickly found the location of the tombstone.
The man in the black and white photo was handsome and graceful, as if time would stand still for him. Lin Zhenxin stood in the cold wind, her face expressionless as she looked on.
