45: Chapter Forty-Four: Corpse Fiend sends a Fire Gourd (Second update!)_1
Suddenly, a burst of intense heat swept through, and a golden radiance like the sun rose in the Ghost Zone.
Butcher Maxwell hastily knelt down: “Welcome, Your Highness Corpse Fiend!”
From the street came the clanking sound of a zombie that seemed to be made of gold, moving in a stiff, mechanical manner.
Its body emitted scorching golden light, which dispersed the moisture by the riverside.
The Drowned Ghost Princess murmured a complaint in the shadows and quietly submerged a bit deeper.
“Your Highness.” Butcher Maxwell endured the discomfort on his body and welcomed him: “You’re here.”
Corpse Fiend turned his stiff head, and from his eyes shot two scorching golden beams, scanning the surroundings: “What’s the matter?”
The voice was also filled with strong fire.
Butcher Maxwell’s ears emitted green smoke.
“It’s over there.” Butcher Maxwell pointed at Little Loach.
Little Loach stared at him, drooling.
If he could eat such a huge chunk of gold, his Sword Pill should be able to make a leap in progress.
Corpse Fiend finally noticed Little Loach and scolded Butcher Maxwell stiffly: “Trash!”
He raised his finger, and a scorching golden flame flew towards the bluestone slab.
Was such a minor character worth alerting him?
He would just grill it.
Lord of the Skeleton Sea and Drowned Ghost Princess both watched secretly.
In front of them, Little Loach had revealed its unique magical powers, making them unwilling to act recklessly.
But they were puzzled: was it a mere coincidence or was the little thing genuinely capable?
They didn’t want to test it themselves.
Thankfully, Corpse Fiend, the pure-steel straight man, appeared and took action!
The golden flames were originally aimed at the bluestone slab – Corpse Fiend intended to cook an “Iron Plate Grilled Loach”.
However, when the flames flew out, they saw Little Loach extend its neck, gulp, and swallow the flame!
Far away in the village, Owen Bertram was sleeping in a daze.
Suddenly, he felt an intense warm surge come abruptly.
Even the sister he held in his arms felt the warmth and snuggled comfortably into her brother’s embrace.
The warm flow circulated in Owen Bertram’s body, and he wailed in secret, feeling as if a red-hot iron plate had been wiped across his body.
“Not good!” Owen Bertram touched his body, and sure enough, all of his body hair – scalp hair, eyebrows, body hair, and others – had fallen off!
“Isn’t this just singeing pig hair?” Owen Bertram was furious, ready to properly teach Little Loach a lesson: what was it up to?
The warm flow settled in the spiritual cavity in his left chest but did not blend into the Flying Sword Object System.
Instead, it flaunted its dominance by condensing a second Heterotext, which looked like the character for “flame.”
In the Ghost Zone, Corpse Fiend was stunned, while the secretly observing Drowned Ghost Princess and Lord of the Skeleton Sea were also shocked.
Then, both of them hid even deeper: something was definitely wrong!
Corpse Fiend was stubborn, believing one thing in his life: there’s nothing a flame can’t solve, and if there is, try two flames!
Whoosh-
Corpse Fiend released two more flames.
Little Loach twisted its neck and swallowed them again.
In Extinct Village, Owen Bertram felt an even stronger warm surge sweeping in…
This time, all his clothes were burned away, and his entire skin turned hot and red!
“Bastard!”
Corpse Fiend wondered: two flames still didn’t work?
Try three!
Seeing its generosity, Little Loach simply opened its mouth, and a funnel-shaped vortex appeared.
Corpse Fiend realized that three flames couldn’t solve the problem as the golden flames inside its body were being sucked into the vortex, quickly leaving its body!
It finally sensed something was wrong and forcibly cut off the flames.
Then it stiffly turned its head to question Butcher Maxwell: “Where are the others?”
Why hadn’t the others arrived yet, considering its slow awakening and sluggish movement?
Butcher Maxwell secretly thought, you finally figured it out?
But he didn’t dare to betray the Drowned Ghost Princess and Lord of the Skeleton Sea, so he just lowered his head and kept quiet.
Little Loach slapped its tail on the bluestone slab, waiting for Corpse Fiend: looking at you, you seem generous, but suddenly so stingy?
Give me some more flames!
My Sword Pill needs more fire to form a Fire Pill.
If you give me all your crimson flames, it should be enough.
Corpse Fiend didn’t quite understand the meaning of Little Loach’s gaze, but it somehow felt chills down its spine!
For Corpse Fiend, the ultimate move is “Thousand Miles of Fiery Land”!
It had been a long time since it felt the sensation of “cold.” It thought for a moment, clanked its stiff body into Butcher Maxwell’s house, and forced it to shrink in size, hiding behind a window.
Then it lowered the window, leaving only a slit to observe the outside.
It instructed Butcher Maxwell: “Say you haven’t seen me.”
Butcher Maxwell nodded repeatedly: “Yes, Your Highness.”
Then he thought to himself: once you wake up, you’re a huge fireball.
Any ghost spirit in the Ghost Zone doesn’t need to look to know where you are – does hiding like this make any sense?
…
In the village, Owen Bertram had already crawled out of the hole, concerned about his sister getting burned.
Now Owen Bertram looked like a cooked shrimp, with his whole body bright red and hissing white steam.
In the spiritual cavity of his left chest, the surging warm flow continued to pour in.
The newly formed Heterotext “flame” character quickly manifested an object, a small red gourd that burned with crimson flames.
Owen Bertram didn’t dare to wear clothes – Extinct Village was too poor, and Owen Bertram only had two sets of clothes.
He had already burned one set, and if he burned another, would he have to face people with a bare butt tomorrow?
“What the heck is Little Loach up to!”
Owen Bertram grumbled irritably, and his soul was attached to the scene.
In a blink, he knew what had happened and wondered: why would a Ghost Zone appear outside Extinct Village?
Just then, a huge shadow surged from beneath the ground in the Ghost Zone.
It resembled a vast black cloth, big enough to wrap the entire Ghost Zone.
The lights and music in the Ghost Zone froze due to the appearance of this shadow.
However, the shadow didn’t linger, on the contrary, it quickly gathered in front of Butcher Maxwell’s door and condensed into a pitch-black fog.
Life resumed in the Ghost Zone, but people seemed cautious and didn’t dare to revel in it.
In the dark fog, intense ghostly energy swirled.
Faces appeared from time to time – humans, members of the demon clan, or wild beasts.
There were even creatures whose race couldn’t be recognized, perhaps the ancient clan people of the Eight Desolates, who seemingly disappeared.
Finally, all the faces vanished, and the dark fog solidified.
In the center, a simple face emerged.
