My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 100: Casual Relationships Are Better After Heartbreak
Chapter 100: Casual Relationships Are Better After Heartbreak
(Arata)
Karsten was still awake, and his reply was instant.
{Seems interesting. I am pleased to know you are having fun.}
Even his replies seemed so robotic that I had to purse my lips and not laugh.
{It is. I will send you the pictures of the island and the beach. You will like this place.} I knew he loved nature even with that cold personality of his.
{I will wait. Get some sleep now, you must be tired after all the travelling. Keep me posted. Night.} Did his hands ache to type good alongside night?
{Good night, Sir.} I typed back and hit send. Placing my phone aside I tried to sleep. My limbs were aching.
Sleep had hardly enveloped me when I heard Stella’s voice slowly calling me.
"Ara? Are you awake?" I flipped off the duvet and raised my head to find her staring at me, looking slightly distraught.
"Yeah! Girl. What happened?" I quickly slid up and sat with my pillow placed behind me.
Stella quietly flopped near my legs, placing her hands on her knees.
"I meant to talk to you but didn’t get the chance." Her words made me nervous and I hoped everything was well with her.
I extended my hand and gripped her arm, asking her softly.
"Hey! You can always talk to me. What is it?"
She rubbed her face and spoke without facing me.
"He broke up with me." Her words held regrets and pain as tears leaked out of the side of her eyes.
"Oh! Stel." Staggering forward, I gathered her in my arms. She began to silently cry, placing her head on my chest.
Oh God, why?
First me and now her. This was beyond painful. I gently combed her hair, letting her cry her heart out and didn’t ask any questions. She will speak to me when she is ready. frёewebηovel.cѳm
We held each other as a few tears leaked out of my eyes and soaked into her hair. As teenagers, we had fantasised about getting married to our soul mates, but never had it crossed our minds that one day, we would be left heartbroken like this.
Finally, Stella lifted her head and wiped away her tears. She wiped her reddened nose with tissue paper and lifted her saddened eyes.
"He asked me to leave Angel City....I couldn’t do it." I grabbed both her hands in mine and squeezed gently.
"Tell me everything, I am listening."
She hesitated for a second and then requested with tears still shimmering in her eyes. The girl who was an embodiment of bravery almost seemed desperate today.
"Ara! Promise me that you won’t tell this to Zaylen."
My heart clenched at her request. I knew if she was requesting something like that, then there had to be some link with my brother.
"I promise, tell me what happened?" I urged her to speak. She steadied herself. Never had I seen her hesitate like this before.
"He was always jealous of my friendship with Zaylen. Recently he had been more agitated and gave me an ultimatum that I needed to choose." She shook her head. "I tried to reason with him that Zaylen was just my friend, but he didn’t listen and wanted me to move to another city with him—I refused and he ended our relationship." She rubbed her right hand on her saddened face, trying not to cry anymore.
I was lost for words. This hurt me beyond words to learn that she had to choose between Zaylen and her boyfriend.
Relationships were complicated, people could get jealous and insecure, and that’s exactly what happened in this case.
"You were faithful to him. It’s his insecurity if he couldn’t look past your friendship with Zaylen. Such a man would have controlled you later. From what I am seeing, he was already trying to isolate you." I was getting sick of such men. It seemed like everyone around me was having trouble juggling complex relationships.
"I just wish he had given me a chance. I hated how he made me choose while boiling in jealousy. Men are such insecure, overly emotional beings, and they dare judge us for being emotional." Stella wiped away the last of her tears and faced me boldly now.
"You are right, it’s better to keep casual relationships after such heartbreaks, until one is ready" I said with a meh expression. Stella snorted and gave me a nod, her lips twitching to sadly smile.
"Does Uncle and Aunt know?" I asked, leaning back against the soft pillow. All the energy seemed to have been drained from my body.
"No, I haven’t told them yet. I just told Zaylen and then you. But Zayn only knows we broke up because we couldn’t have a long-distance relationship." She flopped beside me and began to stare aimlessly at the ceiling, her hands behind her head.
Zaylen and Stella had always been close and since both of them were younger than me, they occasionally teamed up to play tricks on others. Their friendship was deep, and it pained me that Stella was made to feel that it was not important and she should cut Zaylen off from her life.
"I am glad you spoke to him. What did he say?"
A small smile played on Stella’s lips as she answered.
"He was very supportive and said he never liked him anyway. Typical Zayn, you know."
My brother had the knack for making others feel better and yet silently planning the demise of those who hurt his close ones. I was certain he had imagined countless ways to make the lives of those men—the ones who had hurt us—utterly wretched.
"He is right. Come, I have juicy news for you," I squealed, rubbing my hands together. Stella’s sadness evaporated and she listened intently.
"I went to meet Twisted Rider again and we had a very interesting bike ride." Stella’s eyes swivelled in my direction at the speed of a bullet being shot–buckets of excitement gleamed in them.
"You don’t say, Ara. Details, I need all the fucking details." She stumbled close to me, placing her head in my lap and excitedly stared at me to share all the juicy details.
"I need someone like Twisted Rider too, Ara. You are so lucky," she wistfully said while I logged into my secret account and opened his newest video.
"Oh! Boy, when we thought he couldn’t get any hotter." I turned the phone in her direction and we both began to enjoy his new creation.
My female parts were going to be thanking him as I watched and couldn’t help but think back to that bike ride.
