Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 267: Many Distractions.
He spent most of his time cultivating. Then he took a break for an hour or so for miscellaneous activities.
This became his routine for eight weeks. He only left his house during those eight weeks to meet with Elder Storm Hawk in the library hall.
His behavior wasn't an oddity. Every new member of the sect was trying to reach the second mortal coil as soon as possible and gain fighting power so that they could participate in the performance test and earn the right to live in the ten accommodations above the S-grade floor.
He had a break in his schedule because everyone that would be entering the sect in this round of admission must have entered the sect already. So the information that he asked Blood Root to acquire for him had been prepared.
Both the current information of the offspring of the Dyson family and the information about S-grade disciples in his set were available.
He was mostly interested in the information of those who were going to cultivate the original techniques like him, but he got distracted as soon as he opened the package.
The information package was in the form of a book. The book contained pictures and information about the subjects.
What distracted him was the information about the S-grade disciple on the first page of the book. He was distracted because this page was about a certain Arthur Red Mane.
NAME: Arthur Red Mane.
RANK: 1
SCORE: 24,155
INVITATION: S-grade.
SPECIAL: Innate Divine Strength.
ROOM NUMBER: 1.
He was briefly distracted by this page. While it didn't tell him anything he didn't know, he was able to infer that the information package might not be complete.
He deduced this because he was given the S-grade invitation for more than one reason. If the Apex Alliance doesn't know this, it means that they don't have access to everything about him.
He didn't know what he should feel about this. On the one hand, he is glad that not everyone could access his information. So this should be a good thing.
But on the other hand, he wants to have access to everyone else's information. So it is a bad thing that he can't.
He said, "I guess I can't eat my cake and have it. Blood Root did say that the information is not entirely accurate and more will be collected over the years based on everyone's performance.
He shook his head and turned the page. Then he was distracted again.
What distracted him again was a girl with three eyes. She had a third eye on her forehead.
According to her special, she is not a human. She is a beast that was enlightened and took human form.
He couldn't believe what he read. He wondered to himself, "Does that mean that Roar can take human form too? How does that work?"
He was interested in her and how she came about to be. Unfortunately, there wasn't much information about her.
He sighed and said regretfully, "I take it back. I feel that it is a bad thing that everyone doesn't have complete access to each other's information."
He has made up his mind about what he feels about the incomplete information. It is because he is so curious about this humanoid beast that he was willing to give up his privacy.
After marveling at the magnanimity of the Blood Skull sect for accepting a beast into the sect instead of killing and eating it or enslaving it, he went on to the next page.
He was also distracted on this page too because he saw a lady that looked like him. She had red eyes and red hair too.
The more he looked at her, the more his eyes widened in shock.
He exclaimed, "What the hell? She looks like Mother, not me."
The more he stared at her, the more he realized that she looked like Lady Vena. Actually, they were identical. They looked like twins.
In fact, he would think that they were twins if not for the fact that she had to be younger than Lady Vena for her to gain admission into the sect.
He read what was special about her and saw that it was called Innate Blood Body. This made him remember what Elder Storm Hawk had said about the Innate Blood Body being better than the acquired Blood Body.
He chuckled and said, "This is what a descendant of the sect should really look like."
Many people thought that he was a descendant of someone from the Blood Skull sect when they saw him. He wasn't, but he thinks that she might truly be one.
Either way, he wants to confirm her origin from her. He also wants to confirm her relationship to his mother.
This page made him regret that he couldn't access everyone's information again. He sighed in regret as he turned to the next page.
He saw more and more interesting people the more he read. Some of them had special mana affinity, like lightning or metal element affinity. Others had special physiques that enhanced various aspects of cultivation or even skills.
One of the special physiques that enhanced skills was that of a guy who was born with a pill bone in his body. Thanks to this pill bone, the guy is very talented in concocting pills.
There were many such cases. Everyone in the S grade was special in one way or another.
The total number of people in the S grade was 34. This number was far from the 100 available slots for the S grade.
34 also can't compare to the 1,000 disciples in the A grade or the 10,000 in the B grade. But what the S grade lacked in number, they made up for in quantity.
After reading the package, he put it aside and finished eating his meal. He doesn't need to eat thanks to the superior rank 1 blood pills. But it is fun to eat. It is especially fun to eat while reading something interesting.
