Modern World Warlock-Chapter 288: Vincent’s Vengeance
Thirty minutes before Vesnia and Udras infiltrated the Jade Castle, the duo were standing on top of a building, accompanied by Vincent, who was supposed to join them in the mission.
As they scanned their surroundings and planned out their attack, Vincent got distracted when he felt a strange but somewhat familiar presence nearby.
"Ehehe, is that her…?" Vincent muttered to himself.
Vesnia and Udras glared at the bald undead, knowing that the man wasn't paying attention to their plan. Still, before any of them could complain, Vincent stated that he would be following his "sense of smell."
After Vincent jumped down from the building, which was a drop of eight floors, Vesnia and Udras decided to let him do as he pleased since it would be a waste of time to follow him around.
When Vincent landed on the street below, he began walking toward the origin of the strange aura he sensed, passing by a few bars and restaurants that were still open late at night.
"Hmm…" Vincent hummed as he arrived at a plaza.
The area was surrounded by stalls selling food and homemade trinkets, hundreds of citizens walking around, and music playing loudly for the guests.
Still, Vincent could feel the familiar aura in the plaza, so he began to walk around, ignoring the judging gazes of the citizens, who couldn't help but stare at the bald undead due to his appearance.
Suddenly, Vincent spotted a woman wearing a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses, even though it was nighttime, and as the woman leisurely walked away from the plaza, she made her way down a street where very few people passed by.
'That's her. I'm sure of it!' Vincent thought, following the woman out of the place.
As the seemingly unaware lady turned into a dark alley, Vincent grinned from ear to ear, preparing himself to take revenge for the embarrassment he received.

When Camille split the Jade Dragons into smaller teams and sent them to patrol different cities on the east, she asked Lilith to take a look around Novis.
Initially, the succubus queen didn't want to leave Dante's side or at least stay in the same house. However, she settled by being able to patrol the same city.
Still, while Lilith enjoyed exploring the city and its nightlife, she had become somewhat famous in the country after her modeling pictures took off, so she had to hide her face with a cap and a pair of sunglasses.
After the succubus queen reached a plaza where music was playing, and the people were eating and walking around, she decided to enjoy herself as well.
Suddenly, she felt an unsettling aura approaching her, and she instantly recognized it as "the pig," making the demon queen smile evilly.
Not wanting to blow off her cover, Lilith kept walking around, acting as if she was wholly unaware that she was being followed, and once Vincent's intentions became clear through his aura, Lilith walked away from the plaza.
'This place should work…' Lilith thought, turning into a dark alley where no citizen was present.
A few seconds later, the footsteps of a burly man could be heard walking into the lone alley.
"Ehe… Ehehe! Nowhere to run now," said Vincent, staring at the woman.
"Hey, piggy. I see you are still in love with me," Lilith replied, taking off her cap and sunglasses in a somewhat seducing manner.
A vein of anger popped out of Vincent's head as his nickname reminded him of the time he was brainwashed by the succubus.
"Defiling your body will only taste better the more you taunt me," Vincent muttered.
"Hoh?" Lilith questioned the man, dropping her head laterally as she inspected Vincent for a few seconds, letting out a mocking chuckle.
"Hahah… That's so pathetic!" Lilith said, wiping a laugh tear from her eye.
"You are now able to use a bit of magic, and the first thing you do is look for me? You must REALLY love me, huh?" she continued, her tone completely sarcastic.
Still, even though she was jesting, Lilith was also correct. After Vincent was reconstructed as an undead, he gained the ability to use magic. Nevertheless, the man didn't put it into practice and simply followed his instincts.
The succubus queen deduced that the man must have developed some sort of special ability that allowed him to track anyone he held a grudge against—a skill purely made for vengeance.
Moreover, since Netherius technically held control of Vincent's soul, her brainwashing wouldn't be as effective as the first time she used it.
"Ehehe, without your mind-control ability, what can you do but stay still and become my toy!?" Vincent asked, prompting Lilith to smile as she locked her gaze with the undead.
"Hey, piggy… Who do you think I am?" Lilith asked in a low tone of voice as strands of shadows began to spread around her body.
"Anything that you try won't work! I'm invincible!" Vincent shouted, rushing forward toward Lilith, who stood still and calm.
Letting out a wicked but captivating smile, Lilith muttered, "Malevolent Art: Lust," instantly encasing her and Vincent in a dome of shadows.
The bald undead stopped his advance as everything was pitch-black, turning his head from side to side with a bit of desperation. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"What the fuck is this!?" Vincent shouted, punching the air.
"I told you, piggy… Who do you think I am?" Lilith's voice resonated inside the pitch-black domain, echoing inside Vincent's head.
Suddenly, the dark room lit up with a faint purple light, showing Lilith sitting on a throne in her full demon form.
Her attire didn't leave much to the imagination, but her demeanor and death stare were enough to intimidate anyone.
"You bitch, what are you doing!?" Vincent shouted, rushing toward Lilith once again.
Without even gazing at the undead, Lilith raised one hand with annoyance while she leaned her chin on the other, pointing at the rushing Vincent with one finger.
As soon as her finger aimed at the man, his movements were forcefully halted, making him feel an excruciating pressure around him as if a snake was gripping his body.
"It seems I should go check on the others, so let's make this quick. Sadly, we have no time to play, piggy," Lilith said.
At that moment, the pressure around Vincent got even stronger and more intense, and when Lilith grinned, his entire body blew up into pieces, leaving his severed body parts stuck to the alley's wall.
