In the morning, the gathered members of the club sat in the vehicle, discussing recent events.

"Ahead is the core area of Thousand Towers City. It’s said that some elderly people still remain there, using the old autonomous units to seal off the underground entrances," Guro shared the intelligence he had gathered over the past few days.

"Now that we’ve mostly cleared out the gangs in the surrounding areas, it’s time to go inside and take a look."

"Thousand Towers City? I’ve heard about it before. I heard their end-of-summer festivals were quite spectacular," Ruby pondered.

"That’s right. There are still plenty of videos online about it," Phyllis adjusted his glasses.

As everyone chatted, Thilan sat by the window, gazing at the scenery growing closer in the distance. Her thoughts wandered, wondering who might still be inside. Logically, there shouldn’t be many left. She had asked her uncle about it before, and he had said that most of those who stayed were elderly people without children, too old to relocate and unwilling to leave.

"They probably want to be buried here. I don’t want to force them to change their minds, so I let them be," Gu Qianlou had said at the time.

In a corner at the back of the vehicle, Dolores curiously observed Evony, making the latter slightly uncomfortable.

"What’s wrong?" Evony finally asked.

"You advanced?"

The two had both been at Sequence 3, the lowest in the club. However, given Dolores’s status, no one really paid attention to her transcendent sequence.

"Yes, it took a long time, but I finally succeeded," Evony twirled a strand of her golden hair, her voice tinged with joy.

"Was it a Perfect-Grade Pathway?"

Dolores knew that if it had been a lower-level advancement, Evony wouldn’t have sounded so relaxed.

"Yes, it was," Evony replied, her fingertips lightly flicking as dozens of orange fireballs, each the size of a ping-pong ball, danced around her hand, stable and without any burning sensation.

"Congratulations."

"Thank you. Actually, I have to thank the president for helping me figure it out," Evony recalled the previous night.

"Thilan helped you advance?"

"Yes."

"I see," Dolores responded.

Although the young lady in the black lace dress didn’t seem upset, there was a hint of something unspoken in her demeanor.

The vehicle continued until it came to a stop a few minutes later.

"We’re here. Let’s get out."

The group jumped out of the vehicle and surveyed the distinctly different architectural styles of the city.

"It really has a unique style, with a kind of ancient charm."

"Speaking of which, this place must have been quite prosperous in its day. It doesn’t seem much different from Lebion."

"Let’s keep moving. I think I see signs of other people."

After advancing a bit further, they were indeed ambushed by a group of gang members.

Rockets trailing thick smoke flew out, targeting the group from multiple directions, followed by machine gun fire that sprayed bullets like water from hundreds of meters away.

"Scatter!"

Xelian quickly drew his gun and shot down a rocket mid-flight, causing it to explode prematurely and sending waves of fire in all directions.

The fate of the other rockets was different. Two were sliced apart by Thilan’s sword, while another was intercepted by Evony.

The fireball collided with the rocket, causing an explosion. The shockwave was blocked by the spherical barrier Evony had conjured, shielding Dolores and Ruby behind her.

"Let me handle this one," Evony requested for the first time, and Thilan nodded in approval.

The golden-haired girl leapt into the air and then descended rapidly, her flowing hair scattering like sparks. Around her, orange fireballs began to form and gather.

These fireballs followed Evony’s movements, growing brighter and brighter within seconds, their intense light almost blinding. With a flick of her finger, the fireballs shot out like fish, weaving through the ruins and chasing down the hidden gang members before exploding.

The liquid-like flames melted exposed metal, and the sheer power of the fireballs shattered the morale of the gang members. Some dropped their weapons and fled, desperate to escape the terrifying "Fiery Goldfish Princess."

Evony waved her arm again, sending another wave of fireballs after the fleeing gang members. However, these were noticeably less powerful than the previous ones, likely to avoid incinerating the targets entirely.

After defeating the ambushing gang members, Thilan and the others learned their identities.

"So you’re from the Leopard Head Gang. We’ve heard a lot about you," Jinzerk tapped one of the gang members’ faces with his gun barrel, sizing him up.

"Where’s your boss?"

"He... he’s inside the ruins of Thousand Towers City. Don’t kill me, I can take you to him," the underling quickly switched sides, realizing escape was impossible.

After some interrogation, the group gradually understood why the gang was here.

"Apparently, the boss wanted someone to translate something," one of them recalled.

"He found something valuable in some ruins, but some of the documents were written in ancient texts. Not many people today understand them, and the texts are incomplete. It seems like they need to be filled in based on context."

"So you came to Thousand Towers City?" Alen’s interest was piqued at the mention of ancient texts.

"Yes, the boss said that even though Thousand Towers City has moved, there should still be some elderly people here who can help translate and complete these documents. That’s why we came."

"Where is your boss now?"

"He’s underground. He went down a couple of days ago and told us to guard the entrance. He said he’d take us to a better life afterward."

"What do you mean by a better life?"

"Of course, it means good food, good drink, and women," the gang member replied with simple, primal desires.

The group couldn’t extract much more valuable information. It seemed that Haus, the boss, rarely shared his secrets with his subordinates, only revealing what was necessary.

"So, what’s his current strength level?" Valk finally asked a crucial question.

"Uh... maybe Sequence 5 or 6? We’re not sure," the gang members, mostly at Sequence 1 or 2, had no idea about the power gap at higher sequences.

"This is what happens when you don’t study properly. Even selling information becomes worthless," someone in the group quipped.

"Should we go in too?"

With that, everyone’s gaze turned to the black-haired girl at the back. The tied-up gang members finally realized that the leader of this group was actually the slender girl standing behind everyone.

"Let’s go in, but we need to hurry."

Not just here, but their training period was also nearing its end.

Under the azure sky, the sun gradually dipped westward as the group of young figures jumped into the underground entrance of the city.

The entrance, once bustling with travelers a year ago, was now pitch black, like a giant maw swallowing any who dared to enter.

"I’m back," Thilan murmured as she descended into the underground passage.

This time, however, she no longer felt the uncertainty and confusion she had experienced before.
