Mercenary's War-Chapter 58 - Plan Implementation
58: Chapter 58: Plan Implementation
58 -58: Plan Implementation
After receiving the call, Gao Yang didn’t say much.
He stood up, finished the call in the hospital’s corridor, and returned to the ward, whispering, “Dad, Mom, I need to step out for a bit to take care of something, and I’m taking the money.”
In the two days with his parents, Gao Yang had made time to prepare.
He had his father withdraw four hundred thousand in cash.
Additionally, he took a few two-inch photos needed for the fake passport.
Now, all Gao Yang had to do was to take the money and leave.
Seeing Gao Yang’s actions, his father stood up with a serious face and said, “What are you going to do?
You just got back.
What could you possibly have to deal with?
Don’t tell me you’re planning to go see that Zhao fellow?
I’m telling you, you don’t need to worry about that issue; leave it to me.”
Gao Yang shook his head and smiled, “Where did that come from?
There’s no need for such a large sum to deal with Zhao.
Do you remember the American I told you about?
I plan to start a foreign trade company with him.
Initially, I thought of registering through an agent, but the foreigner prefers formalities, which means I really have to register it with him in person.
It’s five hundred thousand for one share, and I will hold fifty-one percent of the shares.
I’ll be back after the capital verification is completed.”
Gao Yang’s father nodded and said, “You’ve worked in foreign trade before, and starting your own company is something you’re familiar with.
Now that you have connections, it’s feasible.
Go ahead, and come back early after you’ve finished your business.”
After speaking a few words with his mother, Gao Yang took two bags filled with cash and left the hospital.
Gao Yang hailed a cab and arrived at the designated place for the transaction with the person Molotov had sent, and after meeting up with the person delivering the guns, they found a tea house and rented a room.
The man delivering the goods to Gao Yang was a Huaxia man in his forties, not very talkative.
After the service staff in the tea house had prepared the tea, and Gao Yang had instructed them not to allow anyone to disturb them, he went straight to the point and said, “Where’s the stuff?
Let me see it.”
It was still rather cold in Ji Province in March, and even colder in Heilong Province.
That’s why the man delivering the guns was wearing a bulky down coat, which did not seem out of the ordinary.
The middle-aged man stood up, took off his down coat, and reached into his sweater to pull out two plastic bags wrapped packages.
After placing the small packages on the table, the middle-aged man opened them and took out a handgun and two magazines, saying, “Everything’s here, three magazines in total, twenty-four bullets.”
The middle-aged man pushed the gun towards Gao Yang, who picked it up and recognized it.
The handgun was a Makarov PM pistol, a compact model, not heavy or large, with a magazine holding eight rounds – suitable for concealment.
Moreover, it was reliable and had decent power.
Although this gun had been replaced and retired from active duty, it was still considered a decent weapon, especially suitable for Gao Yang’s current needs.
Gao Yang carefully examined the gun’s exterior, finding no faults.
It looked relatively new without signs of use.
After unloading the magazine, Gao Yang dismantled the gun into parts for a thorough inspection.
Everything inside and outside the handgun matched smoothly.
Pleased, Gao Yang nodded and asked, “Has this gun been tested?”
The middle-aged man replied in a low voice, “It has been tested; four bullets were fired.
Our boss tried it himself, no issues at all.”
Without further ado, Gao Yang pushed one of the money bags toward the middle-aged man and said, “Two hundred thousand, check it.”
The middle-aged man opened the bag, glanced inside, flipped through the cash briefly, then closed the bag, saying, “No need to count it.
Our boss trusts you.
Give me the photo; if there’s nothing else, I need to go catch a train.”
After taking Gao Yang’s photo, the middle-aged man nodded at Gao Yang and left the tea house on his own.
After seeing off Molotov’s man, Gao Yang stayed in the tea house and called Zhao Xinwen.
The number for Zhao Xinwen was one Gao Yang had surreptitiously found on his father’s phone without letting his father know.
Now, Gao Yang was finally ready to carry out the plan he had prepared.
Once the call connected, Gao Yang said in a deep voice, “Hello, is this Mr.
Zhao Xinwen?”
“Who is this?”
Gao Yang paused for a moment, then continued seriously, “I am a friend of Gao Wu.
I’m here to repay his debt, but first, there’s something I need to say.”
Hearing about the repayment, Zhao Xinwen sounded pleased and said, “Go ahead, what is it?”
Gao Yang firmly stated, “One million two hundred thousand, Old Gao can’t come up with that, and neither can I.
I can give you eight hundred thousand at most.
Let’s settle the debt with a single payment.
If that works for you, we’ll proceed.
If not, let’s call it off.
After all, you know the specifics of the matter better than anyone.
If eight hundred thousand isn’t enough, feel free to seize the property or sue.”
After a moment of silence, Zhao Xinwen replied, “One million, not a cent less.”
Gao Yang sighed and said, “Whatever you say.
I’m the kind of person who values loyalty enough to offer Old Gao eighty thousand, but I can’t come up with any more.
So if eighty thousand can’t solve the problem, then there’s no need for us to talk.
Goodbye.”
As Gao Yang had expected, Zhao Xinwen immediately said, “Okay, eight hundred thousand.
When will I get it?”
Gao Yang silently laughed and replied, “The money can be given to you right away, but where’s the promissory note?”
“As soon as you give the money, you’ll have the note.”
Gao Yang deliberately waited a moment before responding, “Alright, let’s settle this today. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Come to me, bring the note, and I’ll be at…”
Without waiting for Gao Yang to mention the place, Zhao Xinwen interjected anxiously, “No, better you bring the cash to me.
I’ll wait for you in my office.
You know where it is, right?”
Gao Yang hadn’t expected Zhao Xinwen to agree to meet at the place he mentioned.
After clarifying Zhao Xinwen’s address, Gao Yang hung up the phone.
Then he opened the bag with two hundred thousand in cash and separated the one hundred thousand bundled notes into smaller bundles.
Gao Yang chambered the gun, ready to fire at a moment’s notice, and then concealed the gun and magazines underneath the money.
By doing so, he could draw the gun and shoot straight away.
Although this posed the risk of firing accidentally, Gao Yang trusted the reliability of the Makarov pistol and was willing to take this risk.
Gao Yang had never intended to give Zhao Xinwen a single cent.
The sole purpose of bringing the cash was to get close to Zhao Xinwen and to sneak the gun inside.
Gao Yang arrived at the building that Zhao Xinwen had referred to.
However, upon entering the building, he saw security cameras at the entrance and lobby.
Even though Gao Yang deliberately kept his head down as he walked in, he knew his figure would be captured on camera, which caused him to lose confidence in avoiding police pursuit.
Zhao Xinwen’s office was on the eighteenth floor, an auspicious level, but Gao Yang knew that Zhao Xinwen’s so-called company was just a shell, and the office would likely not be very big.
Upon finding Zhao Xinwen’s office, Gao Yang knocked on the door.
It was promptly opened by one of the men who had come to his house to smash things and beat people the other day.
