Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'-Chapter 337: Pregnant
Chapter 337: Pregnant
The air went completely still.
Selina narrowed her eyes slightly, a half-smile playing on her lips.
Riley waved her hand as if flustered. "Sorry, sorry, I spoke without thinking. Logan, you and Selina can handle this between yourselves. I’ll take my leave."
She turned back just before leaving, as if suddenly remembering something. "Oh, Logan, the most important thing between a married couple is trust. If you’re hiding things from Selina... never mind, I won’t say more."
With that, Riley fled the scene like she’d just dropped a bomb, awkward and worried, as if she’d accidentally exposed a secret.
Grandma Perry waved dismissively. "I’m not getting involved in Nelson Family drama. Riley showed up unannounced today—would’ve been rude to turn her away. Selina, don’t let what she said get to you."
Selina nodded and left with Logan.
...
Outside the Perry estate, in a luxury car.
Riley stared coldly as she watched them get in, letting out a sneering laugh. "There’s no way Selina can just brush this off."
Madam Nelson hesitated. "Riley, what’s the point of provoking her? All you’re doing is making Logan feel guilty."
Riley, looking smug, replied, "Once there’s a crack between them and Selina starts thinking about leaving, Logan will give in eventually. Mom, I’m going to be Mrs. Reid—and relying solely on Logan is too low-level."
She hadn’t done anything wrong. She merely "reminded" Selina that trust was vital in a marriage. What happened after was none of her business.
"But I can’t do this alone," Riley’s gaze turned sharp. "Mom, get in touch with Angelica. Tell her I have a way to save her."
...
Selina was about to get in the car when Logan suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Startled, she turned back. "What are you doing?"
Logan’s jaw tightened. After a moment, he lowered his eyes slightly. "Mrs. Reid, aren’t you curious about anything?"
Riley’s words had sounded like a careless slip, but Logan did have secrets he hadn’t told her.
But Selina just blinked and shook her head in confusion. "Is there something I should be asking you?"
"...Like what Riley said."
Selina looked at him like he was crazy. "You didn’t think I took Riley seriously, did you? That was clearly an attempt to drive a wedge between us."
Did he think she was that dumb?
Logan found her absolutely adorable. His fingers brushed her bangs. "What if I really was hiding something?"
"Is it a deal-breaker?"
"No."
Selina thought about her own little secrets. Whether out of guilt or something else, she smiled. "Then it’s fine. Everyone has their secrets."
Logan’s lips curved into a smile. "Then I’m grateful for your understanding, Mrs. Reid."
Selina paused, licking her lips nervously. "But what if... I’m hiding something from you?"
Logan narrowed his eyes, intrigued.
Ah, so that’s why she’s being so generous—because she’s hiding something too.
He stared at her for a long while, then suddenly leaned in and kissed her. His warm, dry lips brushed against hers, gently deepening the kiss.
Selina’s mind went blank, and she barely caught his whisper: "Whatever it is, I’ll respect your choice."
The marriage certificate may bind them legally, but before she belonged to him, she first belonged to herself.
Logan had kept things from her out of necessity. If he had the choice, he would’ve told her everything. But even so, he respected her autonomy.
Selina’s heart bloomed with fireworks. Her eyes went misty with emotion. "Logan, you’re such a good man!"
Logan nearly hit the brakes too hard. "...You don’t need to hand me a ’good guy’ card right now."
But Selina, oblivious, just kept going. "How are you this amazing? Tall, handsome, smart, capable, kind—"
SCREECH—
The car jolted to a sudden stop. Selina lurched forward, caught only by her seatbelt, and slammed back into the seat. "Wh-What the heck?!"
Was Logan’s driving always this questionable?
The man’s breathing was rough. "...Selina, don’t say things like that to a man at a time like this."
Selina: "???"
...
After resting at home for a few days, Selina had dinner alone since Logan had an evening meeting.
She hadn’t even finished eating when Miller Butler came in and announced, "Luke is here."
Luke barged in, clearly alarmed. "Why are you eating alone?! Where’s Logan?!"
Selina nearly choked on her food. "He’s in a meeting. Why?" frёewebηovel.cѳm
"A meeting? At this hour?!" Luke slammed his hand on the table, face full of righteous fury.
Selina set down her fork. "What’s going on?"
Luke’s anger only intensified. His face turned red with frustration. "You sued Angelica for plagiarism. The evidence is ironclad. But guess what—she’s pregnant!"
Selina froze.
Luke nearly exploded. "Because she’s pregnant, she can’t be detained. And with the Morris Family stepping in to clean up the mess, the whole plagiarism case is getting swept under the rug! No one’s even talking about it anymore!"
"And even if you keep pushing the lawsuit, she won’t face consequences until after she gives birth. Seriously—why?!"
It was outrageous. But Selina stayed composed. "Are they sure she’s really pregnant?"
"Yes! The Morris Family already sent people to bring her in. And Logan’s not back this late at night... what if..."
Luke gasped dramatically, voice rising with betrayal. "What if he went to see Angelica? That bastard!"
The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became. He immediately called Logan—no answer.
Luke looked heartbroken, like his world had shattered. "Wahhh... Selina, don’t be sad. Let’s go find something fun to do. Forget him! By the way, how good is Logan’s driving?"
Selina: "...Huh?"
Where did that sudden topic shift even come from?
...
At the Reid Group, in the conference room.
Logan’s phone buzzed. He glanced down—Luke?
He was about to answer, but just then the international partner smiled and said, "Mr. Reid, what do you think?"
Pulled back into the discussion, Logan didn’t catch the call in time.
"Sir," Jaxon whispered after quietly stepping forward, "There’s a situation."
"What is it?"
Jaxon took a deep breath, as though bracing himself. "Angelica is pregnant."
Logan’s eyes darkened. "When did this happen?"
"Tonight. And the entire Morris Family is insisting..."
Jaxon hesitated before finishing, "That it’s your child."
Bang—Logan set his teacup down hard, his gaze ice-cold. "My child?"
"Yes. Old Mrs. Morris sent someone to invite you to the hospital."
Logan instantly understood why Luke had called. He let out a cold laugh.
"Go tell Old Mrs. Morris—plenty of people over the years have tried to pin a child on me. I’m not short on fake sons. I don’t need the one in Angelica’s womb."
Everyone thought they could use his name now?
Still, to avoid any misunderstanding with Mrs. Reid, this needed to be cleared up.
...
Hospital.
