The moment the Queen slammed her palm into the icy ground, everything changed.

The clear blue sky above them darkened as if a storm was rolling in but Ethan knew what was happening, he had seen something similar from Selena but slightly different.

The green grass beneath Ethan’s feet turned pale and cold. Ice spread quickly across the land like a wave, freezing the ground, trees, and even the air. Frost covered everything.

Ethan looked around with a smile on his face, they were no longer in the grassy field, instead the Queen had pull them into her domain.

But unlike Selena domain, this one was a little more aggressive, snowflakes drifted down from the sky, and the icy wind howled like it had a life of its own.

Maybe back then Selena was just holding back since she didn’t want to fight, but now the Queen wanted to fight a real battle and this just confirmed that she was now serious.

Ethan knew about magical domain, it felt like there were in a world of her own making but to the outsider watching, they were just in a large ball surrounded by ice and held together by Mana.

"So this is your domain..." Ethan muttered. His breath came out as a mist.

The Queen stood across from him, her hair now moving with the wind and a large smile formed on her face, she wasn’t happy because of her domain, she was happy because Ethan wasn’t surprised in the least, this meant her had seen or being in a domain before.

"You’re not getting out of this easily now," she said, raising her hand.

Ice gathered around her like a shield, swirling with wind magic, Ethan knew her attacks could come from anywhere since there were in her domain.

The only way to break through a domain is to defeat the caster, have someone from the outside break you out, or be strong enough to break yourself out, or lay out your own domain.

For Ethan the last three wasn’t a option, it was a one on one fight, he wasn’t strong enough to break himself out and he didn’t have a domain of his own, so his only option was to defeat the Queen in her domain.

Ethan took a breath and gripped his sword tighter. Lightning sparked around his body as he began, first he was going to test and then attack for real.

As soon as Ethan landed on the ground the Queen dashed forward towards him.

Instead of using her advantage she chose to close the distance between them but for some reason she was faster, before she reached his range she dashed sideways and appeared behind him with surprising speed.

Before Ethan could make a move her leg kicked him in the side, sending him flying across the ice, even though he blocked with one of his hands he was still thrown off balance.

He hit the ground and slid a few meters before stopping.

Ethan groaned as stood up slowly. His side hurt, but nothing was broken, he had no idea how the Queen increased her speed by this was still his testing phase.

Ethan saw the Queen getting ready to dash but this time he struck first.

He threw it with all his strength. The spear cut through the air, fast and deadly.

The Queen raised her arm, and a wall of thick ice formed instantly. The spear exploded on contact, sending sparks and shards of ice everywhere. But when the smoke cleared, she stood unharmed, it was sclear her ice shield was stronger now.

The Queen didn’t dash in again instead she raised both hands. The air around her grew colder. Dozens of sharp ice blades formed in the sky.

"Dodge this." She spoke as she fired it towards Ethan.

The blades rained down like arrows. Ethan dashed across the field, flipping and rolling, dodging as many as he could.

A few grazed him, cutting into his arm and leg. Blood hit the snow.

But he kept going, the snow was slowing him down and immediately flame wrapped his body [Flame Cloak] and Ethan stopped and used his sword blocking the last few.

"Amazing, you really are amazing, but is this your..." The Queen stopped as Ethan dashed forward.

He clashed swords with the Queen again. Sparks flew as his steel met her frost.

This time, neither of them held back, but Ethan was still holding back as he didn’t Infuse Mana into his sword.

Ethan’s sword moved quickly, slicing in wide, powerful arcs. The Queen blocked with her ice blade, but he could tell she was no longer playing around.

Her strikes were faster, more focused. She kicked, elbowed, and punched between sword strikes, using her body like a weapon.

Ethan blocked her punch, then ducked a kick and swung his blade upward.

She twisted, barely dodging, then countered with a gust of wind that blew him backward. He slid across the ice again, this time on his feet and without stopping Ethan stretched his hands forward.

Bolts of lightning shot out, zapping toward her in rapid succession.

The Queen responded with a barrier made of wind and ice. The lightning shot around her shield but couldn’t break through, but he was already preparing another spell.

This was going to be the first.

Dark clouds gathered above them. Lightning began to flash wildly, and thunder roared. The snow began turning into rain as it fell.
