Chapter 1575 -100 Aperture Opening
Deep within the primitive Demonic Sect.
As Wang Ba broke into the Realm Membrane’s space, filling the Dao Domain and triggering the Realm Membrane’s backlash.
An old figure shrouded entirely by the Blood Sea suddenly felt a ripple in his thoughts and slowly opened his eyes.
With a mere thought, his figure silently appeared in midair, then raised his head to gaze at the southern sky.
His gaze seemed to pierce through tens of thousands of miles in an instant, catching sight of the five figures around the Realm Membrane, along with the faint aura leaking from it.
Upon witnessing the changes on the Realm Membrane, his expression shifted subtly.
“Membrane Eye… Wanxiang Sect, what are they up to this time?”
As his gaze swept across the white-clad figure among the five, a flicker of astonishment briefly flashed through his eyes.
“Is this an incarnation or the main body? How has he already reached the middle-stage of Immortal Ascension?!”
His brows furrowed deeply in thought.
A rare sense of urgency crossed his mind.
He immediately called out softly:
“Shen Fu!”
As his words fell, a brief pause later, a silhouette silently manifested behind the old man, shrouded in bloodlight, its features almost obscured, and slightly bowed:
“Shen Fu pays respects to the uppermost elder. What instructions might the elder have?”
The old man wasted no time on pleasantries and asked directly:
“What is Wanxiang Sect up to?”
Shen Fu hesitated briefly before responding promptly:
“I’m unsure of what the elder refers to.”
The old man, with a hint of irritation in his voice, pointed toward the southern sky:
“There—don’t you see it?”
“I tasked you with monitoring Wanxiang Sect’s movements. Have you paid them no mind?”
“Do you even intend to remain Sect Master?!”
Shen Fu bowed his head quickly and said solemnly:
“Shen Fu would not dare to neglect his duties. I just was unaware of what the elder referred to… That area has also been investigated; their defenses are tight, our spies couldn’t infiltrate at all.”
The old man’s expression turned dark, his temper rising.
But Shen Fu hurriedly added:
“Fortunately, an outer Rogue Cultivator under Wanxiang Sect’s jurisdiction was bribed earlier, and I heard rumors that Wanxiang Sect seems to be trying to avoid True Martial and plans to retreat into seclusion.”
“Retreat into seclusion?”
The old man froze momentarily, doubts surfacing in his mind, and murmured with a frown:
“In the Dao of Cultivation, ambition is key. If the Little Cang World were entirely dominated by True Martial, could it still accommodate cultivators? Wanxiang Sect’s Wang Ba likely wouldn’t have such shortsightedness, would he?”
Shrouded under the bloodlight, Shen Fu spoke in a heavy tone:
“Even if they do not wish to retreat, they may have little choice. True Martial Patriarch’s progress in recent years is nothing short of miraculous, even incomprehensible. Among the Kingdom of Immortals, the God of Longevity, the God of War, and several others have already reached the Divine Emperor Realm, yet they were still overwhelmed by him in direct confrontation. If not for the Kingdom of Immortals occupying Jingyuan Continent, cultivating countless mortals and having deep foundations capable of rapid recovery, they would likely have been annihilated already.”
“Though they currently resist True Martial at sea, their decline is apparent. It’s uncertain how long they can hold out before being entirely eradicated. When True Martial turns east, Wanxiang Sect may have some foundations, but how could they possibly withstand that force?”
His voice carried a weighty seriousness, revealing Shen Fu’s deep apprehension toward the Dao of True Martial.
The old man shook his head slightly and disclosed a secret:
“Wanxiang Sect likely possesses Void Refining stage cultivators. Even if restricted by the heavens from exerting their full power, that True Martial Patriarch could hardly hope to break Wanxiang Sect. At least, not until he ascends to Class VI—impossible.”
“Wanxiang Sect has Void Refining stage cultivators?!”
The bloodlight rippled faintly, revealing Shen Fu’s inner shock.
“Ha, this was revealed during Wanxiang Sect’s conflict with Yang Que of Huangji Continent. They showed faint signs that tipped me off—not absolute, but there’s at least an eighty percent chance Wanxiang Sect harbors a Void Refining cultivator!”
“So, what you mentioned is unlikely. Wanxiang Sect has been quiet these years, and now they stir—there must be some hidden agenda.”
The old man sneered softly.
His gaze remained fixed southward as his thoughts raced. He then asked:
“By the way, tell me, is there still no second True Martial Cultivator capable of surpassing the lifespan limit?”
Shen Fu collected his thoughts and shook his head slightly:
“If our gathered intelligence is correct, among the True Martial Cultivators, apart from that True Martial Patriarch, the longest lifespan still remains at one hundred and fifty years—these are typically rare Class V True Martial Cultivators.”
The old man’s eyes narrowed slightly: “Still only one hundred and fifty years. So how has that True Martial Patriarch lived this long? He should be over five hundred years old now, correct?”
“Close to six hundred,”
Shen Fu nodded.
“But…”
He seemed to recall something and spoke softly:
“Xi Yin once personally went to Huangji Continent and uncovered some information. It’s said that the first Martial Saint of the True Martial Path, Zhang Chao, when nearing one hundred and fifty years old, unexpectedly betrayed True Martial Patriarch Wang Xu. He secretly amassed forces and ambushed Wang Xu but was instead killed by Wang Xu on the spot…”
The old man, unsurprised, pointed out the core of the issue with ease:
“Most likely his lifespan was waning, and he couldn’t accept it. He suspected Wang Xu of holding back some secret knowledge, so he decisively betrayed him. Ha, such is human nature—ingratitude bred by jealousy, the old saying rings true.”
Shen Fu nodded in agreement and sighed:
“The elder’s insight is sharp and piercing, immediately pinpointing the core issue. However, according to fragments left behind by Zhang Chao’s companions, Zhang Chao was convinced that the True Martial Patriarch hid the genuine ‘True Martial Sutra,’ allowing no one else to challenge his dominance. The version he shared with others was incomplete, while he monopolized immortality, letting others pave his path.”
