Life In The Limelight : I Married A Gamer Girl-Chapter 63: Beating A Gooner
Chapter 63 - Beating A Gooner
Over the next few weeks, Masako started noticing something off whenever she went out. At first, she thought it was just her imagination, but the feeling of being watched never left her.
No matter where she went—the grocery store, a café, or even just walking through the city—there was a man who seemed to always be nearby. He was a grown man, older than her and Kazuma, and every time she glanced in his direction, he was staring.
His gaze made her skin crawl. It wasn't the usual admiration she got from fans—it was something worse. His eyes were lecherous, possessive, disgusting. Every time she moved, she could feel him looking at her in a way that made her stomach turn.
She hated it.
She hated that someone other than Kazuma was looking at her like that.
At first, she tried to ignore it. But then he started following her.
If she walked into a shop, he entered minutes later. If she took a different route home, he was still there. It wasn't a coincidence anymore.
One evening, she sat beside Kazuma in their apartment, curling up against him on the couch. Her usual playful, teasing energy was missing. She looked uncomfortable, tense. Kazuma noticed immediately, wrapping an arm around her waist.
"Sweetie? What's wrong?" he asked gently.
Masako bit her lip, debating whether to tell him. But she couldn't hide it anymore.
"There's a man," she murmured. "He's been watching me. Following me. Every time I go out, he's there."
Kazuma's grip on her tightened. His blue eyes darkened in concern. "What?"
She looked down, feeling sick just thinking about it. "He looks at me like I'm... some kind of object. Like he owns me. It's disgusting, Kazuma. I don't want anyone looking at me like that other than you."
Kazuma's jaw clenched. Anger flared in his chest.
"How long has this been going on?"
"A few weeks," she admitted. "I kept hoping it was just a coincidence, but it's not. He follows me. I don't feel safe, dear."
That was all Kazuma needed to hear. His protective instincts kicked in immediately.
"The next time he shows up," Kazuma said firmly, "I'll be there. And we're going to put an end to this."
Masako exhaled in relief, trusting Kazuma completely. "Thank you, dear."
The next day, Masako went out as usual. And, as expected, the man was there.
He stood at a distance, watching her. His gross, twisted smirk sent shivers down her spine.
But this time, she wasn't alone.
Kazuma was waiting.
The moment the man started following Masako, Kazuma stepped out from the side, blocking his path. His expression was deadly serious.
"Hey," Kazuma said, his voice low and icy. "I think you've been watching my wife a little too much."
The man froze. He hadn't expected her husband to show up.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about," he muttered, glancing away.
Kazuma didn't let him escape. "Really? Because you've been following her for weeks. Staring at her like some kind of creep. And guess what?" Kazuma's smirk turned dangerous. "She's noticed. She's disgusted by you."
Masako stood beside Kazuma, arms crossed. "I don't know what kind of sick fantasy you have in your head, but I'm not some toy for you to drool over. I belong to Kazuma, and the fact that you think you can look at me like that makes me sick."
The man flinched. He was caught.
That's when Kazuma pressed further. "Why don't you tell her what you told other people online? Hm?"
The man's face paled. "W-What?"
Kazuma pulled out his phone.
"Oh, you didn't think I'd find out? You've been talking about her in private forums. Posting about how you tune into our streams just to... jerk off to her on the screen?"
Masako's stomach churned.
The man stumbled back. "I-It was just a joke—"
Kazuma stepped forward. "No, it wasn't. You're a freak. And I promise you, if I ever see you anywhere near my wife again, I will make sure everyone knows exactly what kind of pathetic creep you are."
Masako shivered at Kazuma's cold rage.
The man hesitated for a second, but Kazuma's presence was overwhelming.
"Get the hell out of here," Kazuma ordered. "Now."
Without another word, the man turned and ran.
Masako let out a deep breath, watching him disappear. She felt so much lighter knowing that Kazuma had put an end to it.
Kazuma turned to her, his blue eyes softening. "You okay, sweetie?"
Masako nodded, stepping into his arms. "Yeah... I just never want to see him again."
Kazuma kissed the top of her head. "You won't. Not as long as I'm here."
Masako held onto him tightly. "Thank you, dear. You always protect me."
Kazuma smiled, gently caressing her cheek. "Always, sweetie."
They walked home together, Masako finally at ease knowing she was safe. She could always count on Kazuma—to protect her, to love her, and to make sure no one ever tried to take advantage of her again.
