Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 291: Reasons Behind Actions
Sitting on the couch in his dorm room, Aoni was halfway through a bag of potato chips when his Attribute Notice suddenly flared to life and manifested in his line of sight.
Host has Systematically Destroyed the Foundation of another Lord
Because of the Host's Actions, Rewards will be Given
100,000 pp Earned
10 Summon Charges Gained
All Energia Crystals within Erula will enter a stage of Growth, increasing their Grade by 1 Stage
All Summons will enter a stage of Growth due to the increase in Ambient Energia within the Host's Territory for the next Month (Genovian Time). All Summons will earn full progress point gain, and experience enlightenment with their passives
As Aoni read through this batch of messages, the bag of chips in his hand fell from his grasp and collided with the floor, scattering crumbs all over the place; however, he didn't care one bit.
'Is this normal? Will I always get these kinds of rewards by destroying a Lord's Territory?' Aoni asked while staring dumbly at his AN.
That is uncertain
'Is it or do you simply not wanna tell me?' He rebutted with dead fish eyes.
Who knows
'Tsk, sigh, still, I thought I'd feel something, I gave the command to destroy him in anger after reading his info…but still…' Thinking back to the moment he read Markus's description pissed him off for a second time.
And not because he was being subjected to bullying, that was in and of itself a problem; however, Aoni had a reverse scale, and this bastard was the worst type of person in his mind.
Markus Vandersalt
Grade: 3-Stars
Rank: E-
Status: Lord of Balsteel Keep (Subsidary Territory Under the Vandersalt Lineage)
Attribute: Architect of Sand (Crafting Subtype)
Stats: Atk: E+, Def: E+, Spd: F, Eng: E+
*Note: Target is filled with negative emotions, and is known for treating not only his peers but also his subordinates with ruthless aggression. Among his links of subordination, many of whom are of Humanoid appearance, he has assaulted any female as he abuses his status as their lord before casting them away. The only living Summons the Target has remaining are those entirely loyal to him, which share similar proclivities.*
Upon reading the note attached to Markus's profile, a single word flooded Aoni's thoughts: Scum. This guy was truly the Scum of the earth. If he summoned a female that even remotely resembled a human, he'd have his way with them and kill them.
Now, how Aoni knew this is relatively unknown, and technically conjecture since he didn't have the full story, but what he did have was enough evidence to prove Markus had no business being a lord.
Thus, he called Archie and had the guy stripped of his status, and as if the universe was on his side, in doing so, Aoni was rewarded.
But even that left a bad taste in his mouth, because in order to gain these amazing new benefits he first had to destroy a peer, even if the guy was a piece of shit.
Which is why he was so surprised to find that he felt nothing after learning about the successful mission passed down to his older brother.
No Guilt.
No Remorse.
Not even comfort, he felt nothing.
'Hey, is my head alright, because im pretty sure I am supposed to feel something after completely destroying a person's future and killing off an unknown amount of humanoids who are basically people.' Aoni asked with a stony expression.
The Host's mental state shows no signs of inconsistency and is as stable as ever
'…are you saying I am crazy? Or that I've always been crazy.'
Although the Host suffers from a few mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, they are far from psychotic and do not exhibit any sociopathic tendencies
'Doesn't answer my question.' He grumbled while picking up the felled bag of chips and cleaning the crumbs off the floor.
The Host dished out justice against a being who deserved it; there is no conceivable reason to feel remorse for such a thing, as it could be compared to the analogy of an elephant stomping on an ant
'That's…concerning…anyway, if I were to go head hunting other Lords, am I getting rewards or not?'
Progress is progress
'Gotcha, you don't plan on giving me a straight answer.' Rolling his eyes and bringing his arm, Aoni gave Archie a call and found out that not only had the Hired Mercenaries destroyed Markus's territory, but looted it as well.
After receiving a fair share, the rest was handed over to one of Archie's shell companies, bringing in a small chunk of money that was immediately shuffled back into the Vandersalt Companies to take over as many shares as possible.
In the end, this little spur-of-the-moment vengeful act brought the Thurstons a whopping 9 billion dollars in revenue.
---
Hanging up the call and leaning back on the couch, Aoni stared up at the ceiling while lost in thought.
'Not even through my first week and I've already destroyed a bully, and earned nine billion bucks…'
Deet deet deet
Blinking several times before realizing that his Commu was ringing, Aoni brought his arm back up and frowned upon seeing who the caller was.
After a few seconds of internal debate, he eventually answered the call, and the annoying voice of a certain pink-haired young man entered his earbuds.
"AONIII buddy ol pal, how you been?" Damien, the only Friend Aoni had ever made, asked in a cheerful tone.
"You don't call me for three months, then suddenly do out of the blue…why?" Truth be told, although he was kind of happy that his only Friend had remembered he existed, Aoni couldn't help but be a tad bit annoyed.
"Oh come on, I've tried calling you bunches of times, but every time I do, the call never goes through, let me guess, you've been hanging out in Genovia, ahhh, that's gotta be it, since there's no way you'd be ignoring me," Damien stated matter of factly before initiating a video call.
