Journey to the West: Sun Wukong's Advice System-Chapter 35: The Gathering of the Seven Kings

Sun Wukong and Tai Bai Jin Xing once again left the Murky Water Cave of Kan Yuan Mountain and continued northward until they reached the Palace of the Sea Cover located at the bottom of the North Sea.

The Demon King Jiao was their second oldest sister among the seven kings sworn in brotherhood, and she was the first one to become acquainted with Sun Wukong among them.

Although the two had started off with a fierce fight, as the misunderstandings were cleared away and they became sworn siblings, Sun Wukong gradually discovered that the Demon King Jiao was the most sincere among them.

The Demon King Jiao was not as experienced in worldly ways as the Lion Camel King, nor as cruel or honest as the Peng Demon King. She wasn’t as calculating as the King of the Monkeys and the Yu Ruyi King either.

She acted impulsively and rashly, which often got her into trouble, but she also valued loyalty and fellowship.

From the six demon kings to their sworn brotherhood of seven, it was not only because each had their own interests or the Demon King Niu’s proposal, but also because the Demon King Jiao got along with everyone, acting like the thread that tied them all together.

Now at the North Sea and with clues pointing to the Palace of the Sea Cover, it was natural for Sun Wukong to seek out the Demon King Jiao first.

In the empty grand hall of the Palace of the Sea Cover, the Demon King Jiao, dressed in green, was already drunk to the point of insensibility.

She lay sleeping with her upper body sprawled on the desk, her teal outfit tightly fitted, tracing her body’s perfect curves.

In a faint voice, as if complaining in a dream, she muttered, "You clearly knew, clearly knew what was on my mind... Damn East Sea Dragoness, why did you have to snatch..."

Suddenly a little sea demon reported from outside the hall, "Your Majesty, Sun Wukong from Fruit Mountain has arrived."

"I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the Demon King Jiao," Tai Bai Jin Xing greeted with a chuckle, "I am Tai Bai Jin Xing from the west, sent by the Jade Emperor to supervise Sun Wukong’s investigation."

"Investigation?" the Demon King Jiao asked, puzzled, "How have you become involved with the heavenly court?"

"Hey, involved isn’t quite the word," Sun Wukong said, twirling his hand wryly, "With my reputation, the Jade Emperor recently sent this old Star Lord to invite me to heaven for an official position."

"You? Take up an office in heaven?" the Demon King Jiao was surprised.

"With the old Star Lord as my witness, how can you still not believe it?" Sun Wukong said impatiently.

Tai Bai Jin Xing nodded with a smile, vouching for him.

"It’s not that I don’t believe you," the Demon King Jiao shook her head, "Didn’t you just recently ask us for a note of debt to borrow weapons? Saying you wanted to stir up a big fuss, so why have you gone to heaven now?"

"What?" This surprised Sun Wukong, and he exchanged glances with Tai Bai Jin Xing.

They had just arrived at the Palace of the Sea Cover, not yet begun their inquiry, and now directly stumbled upon new clues?

"Is there a problem? Could it be..." The Demon King Jiao’s face changed as she immediately realized something.

Previously, she had been indirectly deceived by an imposter posing as Wukong, and she knew it might have been a Six-eared macaque.

"Second sister, you guessed right," Sun Wukong nodded earnestly, "That instigator has recently done some things. He took on my appearance, destroyed the East Sea Dragon Palace, and caused havoc in the Underworld, committing great evils.

So I’ve come to investigate and prove my innocence."

"This scoundrel is too devious, we must eliminate him!" the Demon King Jiao declared angrily.

"I’ve long wanted to give him a proper lesson!" Sun Wukong also sneered coldly.

Furthermore, the six-eared macaque’s action of borrowing weapons from the likes of the Demon King only served to illustrate his deliberate intent in destroying the Dragon Palace of the East Sea, stealing the Sea Treasury and a large number of weapons. It was clearly purpose-driven rather than mere acts of evil impulse and desire.

It also corroborated the previous speculation that the six-eared macaque was indeed related to that shadowy figure who took advantage of the chaos to send spirits to reincarnation—they were in cahoots!

The Jiao Demon King pursed her lips and didn’t respond.

"Who is Ao Xuening?" Sun Wukong scratched his head and asked.

"The Crown Prince of the North Sea Dragon Palace, he grew up with Second Sister. A thorough ingrate!" Demon King Niu sneered, "I’ve been wanting to teach him a lesson for a long time."

"Heh, what are we waiting for!" Sun Wukong cried out, "Let’s go beat him up at the North Sea first, then have him investigate the Beiming land!"

"Brother Wukong speaks sensibly, let’s go, let’s go!" Demon King Niu laughed heartily.

The Peng Demon King, Lion Camel King, Macaque King, and Yu Ruyi King were also excited, all eager to give that ingrate a lesson.

Taibai Jinxing had been smiling at the scene all along, without much surprise.

What truly surprised him was the fact that the six-eared macaque mentioned by the others could transform to look exactly like Sun Wukong.

Seeing that Sun Wukong and the others were about to set off in high spirits, he hurriedly said, "Your Majesties, head to the Dragon Palace of the North Sea first. Just to be safe, I’ll return to Heaven and ask for some assistance."

"That would be excellent, thank you so much, Old Star Lord, thank you!" Sun Wukong promptly clasped his fists in gratitude.

Demon King Niu and the others also offered their salutes to Taibai Jinxing.

Indeed, the Beiming land was no easy place to infiltrate. Having Heaven intervene would certainly make things more secure.
