I've Become the King of Villains in the Game-Chapter 715 - 452: Distribution of Rewards
Chapter 715 -452: Distribution of Rewards
Half an hour later.
Polaris and the others finally saw Jack emerge from the command tent in the military camp’s clearing, and they hurriedly went to meet him.
“Mr. Jack.”
“Have you been waiting here for a long time?”
Chen Lun, seeing the dozen or so people crowding around him, smiled and said.
Leaning on his Silver Staff, he pointed toward a tent not far away, which was his personal resting place.
“Let’s talk over there.”
Dongyang and the others opened their mouths, then immediately closed them and obediently followed behind Jack, walking into the large tent together.
Although the recent rain had wetted the ground around them, the inside of the tent seemed clean and refreshing, with a soft red and white carpet on the floor and several folding chairs casually placed around a conference table.
Chen Lun noticed there hadn’t been enough folding chairs in the tent, so he casually pointed his Silver Staff, and the small teacups on the table made a popping sound, turning into various colored “fat cats” in the midst of the white smoke. They looked lifelike yet motionless, like sculptures, and floated up under Chen Lun’s guidance, flying down to the carpet to serve as stools.
“Everyone, please sit.”
He told the crowd.
Dongyang and the others seemed to have gotten used to Mr. Jack’s magical tactics. They bowed respectfully and then naturally sat on the backs of those “fat cats.”
There were a few new faces among this group of players, though, who after sitting down touched the cat backs beneath them with some astonishment, feeling the soft and real fur, which made them marvel… Mr. Jack’s Sequence Ability could turn teacups into cats?
Chen Lun took off his flat top hat and placed it on the table, first turning his attention toward the three new faces among the players.
The trio was also high-ranking players from the Circus, but they had not met Chen Lun before. They had joined Dongyang and the others because they too had ranked in the top ten in the “extra mission.”
‘Pumpkin, Ram Hammer, and Invincible Fire Dragon… I don’t recall these three players.’
Chen Lun thought to himself and then said,
“The performance you showed inside the Bridgehead Fortress, I’ve seen it all, and it was very good.”
“You flatter us, Mr. Jack.”
Dongyang represented everyone and slightly bowed his head.
“Excessive modesty is actually extreme arrogance, foreign warriors.”
Chen Lun used this moment to apply what General Vance had once told him to the players here. With his indifferent face and a smile that was not quite a smile, he gave the impression to the dozen or so expert players of seeing right through them.
“Alright… Since you are the most outstanding foreign warriors, it is only natural that I fulfill my promise and give you the rewards you deserve.”
As he said this, he waved his hand, and some items appeared on the table.
Then, Chen Lun distributed rewards to the top ten players by points. Unfortunately, Wei Yin, Su Keying, Dragon King, Tutu, Kuchan Nana, and Kuang Benkuang’s points were not enough to place in the top ten, and they could only look on enviously.
As for the foundational reward of “Sequence Eight Supernatural Knowledge”, all ten players agreed on the Destiny Faction[Diviner]. The reason was simple: both Jack and Polaris had shown the players the power of Transcendents from the Destiny Faction, and while many reasons might be due to Jack’s uniqueness, this did not stop them from believing Destiny Faction knowledge was the most precious.
Whether they could use this knowledge or not was secondary, as they could at least sell it on the black market to reap a substantial monetary reward.
Even now, with the game having upgraded to version 2.0, the exchange ratio of real-world Credit Points to Copper Kro dropped to 1:10, but this piece of knowledge could still sell for at least 1,000 Gold Pounds, which is 1 million Credit Points.
The third-place player was Dongyang, who, in addition to the Supernatural Knowledge, would also receive an item, a [C-grade Mysterious Object]. Chen Lun had specifically selected a palm-sized, quaint copper pot from Floey’s creations, called [Scorching Dance Partner], which could pour out flammable oil to amplify the force of flames. Whether smeared on fists, weapons, or even soaked onto bullets or set as traps, it could perform exceptionally well.
Most importantly, it was inexhaustible. Every seventy-two hours, it would automatically refill, making it a core part of Dongyang’s equipment.
“Thank you, Mr. Jack.”
Dongyang took the copper pot, caressing the old-fashioned patterns on it with affection. He tried pouring a bit on his fingertip and then activated his own Sequence Ability; the next second, it burst into bright flames, and everyone in the tent could feel the fierce wave of heat.
As the flames extinguished, everyone cast admiring glances at him.
Suddenly, Dongyang felt his mouth dry and his palms pale and peeling. He understood that this was the cost of using this Mysterious Object: it would extract moisture from his body depending on how much was used, and if used excessively, it could even drain his blood.
“Have some tea.”
With a smile, Chen Lun flicked his finger, and a teapot automatically flew up, pouring some warm tea into a cup which then floated towards Dongyang.
The latter hastily thanked him, took a sip, and finally let out a breath of relief.
The second highest-scoring player, to Chen Lun’s surprise, turned out to be “Pumpkin,” a short-haired girl with a petite frame similar to Wei Yin’s but who walked the Flesh Pathway.
