Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1332: Complete
Chapter 1332: Complete
In the end, the shadow king didn’t do much. He didn’t even try to resist and just let Rain seal him. Thanks to that, the effects of the skills of the shadow king path doubled.
Shadow King Path: The Shadow King Path is a dark and commanding combat path that taps into the essence of shadows and sins to augment personal abilities and manipulate adversaries. All parameters + 60 per level. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
• Level 1: Umbral Strike - Infuses attacks with shadowy energy, shrouding enemies in darkness and reducing their Wisdom by ten points per level and per minute.
• Level 5: Sinister Aura - Conjures an aura of malevolence, enhancing the charisma and combat prowess of allies while instilling confusion and hesitation in enemies. Allies receive +20 strength multiplied by the level of the skill, and enemies experience a decrease in strength by the same amount.
• Level 10: Enigmatic Shadows - Manipulates shadows to create illusions, temporarily confusing enemies. The effectiveness is based on the level of dexterity and luck multiplied by 100%.
"Well, while I didn’t agree to your conditions before, I fulfilled them now," Rain said. "It is time to complete your part of the bargain."
"You are incredibly shameless for asking that after refusing the deal," The king in the shadows said. "Regardless... most of the things that I know Arel had revealed to you. If you had agreed to my plans, I would have revealed that I knew that she was the master of the prison."
"I realized that on the very same day, I arrived in that zone," Rain said. "Maybe I was expecting too much from you..."
"How about this? Before I was captured and forced to live here, I found many of their bases, and I can tell where your vessel could be," The king in the shadows said. "Not like having any vehicle will be very useful when it was captured once."
"We learned a lot since then. Things won’t be the same," Rain said and then began to head to the exit of the castle. "If you want to have your revenge after being forced to become a dog, then make yourself useful."
Although Rain said that, knowing where to go to some extent was better than nothing as well... even if he wasn’t that confident in their vessel either. Regardless, by the look of things, it seemed that the machine gods were pretty much like Rain, and they valued efficiency above everything, to the point that they wouldn’t destroy or throw away the things they captured from their prisoners.
"If they are supposedly machines, perhaps we can hack one of them and gather all the intel that they have and a map of their territory," Rain thought. "It will be hard to pull that off since Arel escaped without showing any signs of doing so."
"It seems that you have no idea how big their million of years old their empire is," The king in the shadows said.
Rain, though not explicitly expressing his frustration, felt the burden of the various entities residing within his consciousness. The increasing number of voices, each with its own perspective and agenda, created a mental chaos that was wearing on him. The multitude of intellects, seemingly in love with their own voices, contributed to an incessant internal noise. Things weren’t that bad since the lords that he had captured in cores were still pretty quiet since they knew that their lives were in Rain’s hands.
Under normal circumstances, a strategic approach involving the gradual attrition of an adversary’s forces would be the best tactical choice. However, the present circumstances demand a swifter and more decisive solution. The impracticality of attempting to slowly dismantle a million-year-old empire made Rain look for more quick methods.
Rain’s contemplation shifted towards the need for rapid and effective solutions, considering the vastness of the enemy’s domain and the imminent threats posed by their actions. The pressing matter at hand was the acquisition of vital information about the location of their vessel, and Rain recognized the need for innovative and resourceful approaches to circumvent the challenges posed by the machine gods.
When Rain went to talk with the others, he soon found another problem... it looked like the portals stopped working like they were supposed to, even though they were using their mana to open them...
"... They aren’t that far away, and it will be better if we pick them up on the vessel, but..." Rain said. "They will be sitting ducks if the enemies decide to destroy all those planets."
"We can help with that," Orzlan suddenly said. "Considering how strong you have become, you can probably bend space to connect two people. One of your friends has access to space magic, am I right?"
"I wonder... I am not sure if this is something that I can learn so fast," Rain said. "We tried to learn this before this insane long and dangerous journey, but we didn’t make any progress, remember? Well, we have a starting point now, but still..."
It looked like Rain’s lack of confidence was coming at full power again. Even surviving another attack from the dragon god didn’t help solve that problem...
"The Path became available as soon as Iori rebuilt his body. As soon as you learn the first two skills, you should unlock the path," Esmeralda said. "As for the massive amount of people here, we can use space magic to solve that problem as well."
Esmeralda explained on the nature of Iori’s domain, describing it as a distinct realm under his complete control, separate from conventional physical dimensions. This domain, a manifestation of Iori’s unique abilities within his chosen path, allowed him to exert authority over its properties and inhabitants to some extent. Given Rain’s heightened prowess compared to Iori’s, it was conceivable that Rain could construct a similarly expansive space capable of housing vast numbers of individuals. However, achieving this feat would necessitate a substantial allocation of mana resources due to the sheer magnitude of such an undertaking.
