Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1096: Centipede
"I thought that you would try to humiliate him or something… I guess I need to apologize for thinking that you could be immature like that," Seara said.
"I wouldn't go that far, only close enough," Rain said. "Anyway, I have a lot of work to do, so I can't afford to enjoy my time like that anymore."
"So, it means that you would have enjoyed it?" Seara furrowed his eyebrows.
"I am going to work on the rings and the documents to teach everyone how to make the rings," Rain said.
Rain left the arena and headed home. While he could just wait for the knowledge to spread and do its work, Sakaki asked him to speed that up a bit. They didn't have time to waste… Regardless, the fifth day of the matches ended, and now only 256 fighters were left. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Things soon would become more interesting, but at that point in time, Rain didn't even have the chance to see whom he was going to fight anymore.
"I am sorry for forcing you to do all this," Sakaki said when Rain got home. "Still, after we are done, you probably won't have to do this again."
"I highly doubt that knowing my luck, it is a fact that it will happen again," Rain said. "Anyway, at least this will help me train some skills that I don't use that often anymore."
The Adept Crafter Path leveled up.
Level 70: Innovation - Encouraging innovative thinking and pushing the boundaries of artistic craftsmanship, crafters create groundbreaking and influential works that shape the future of their craft. Your creations grant ten points of luck per level of this skill.
Level 75: Client Satisfaction - Cultivating strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing personalized artistic solutions. This level of client satisfaction leads to increased loyalty and a strong client base. Your creations grant ten points of intelligence per level of this skill.
It was weird that Rain's creations could enhance their users like that now… they were basically magic relics without having any effects. The only downside was that the bonuses would be halved when he focused on speed. Even so, at level one hundred, those skills would grant five hundred points to some parameters.
At level max of the path, he will probably be able to create relics that will improve all parameters.
"This was probably made by something highly skilled…" Rain said. "Anyway, I bet that the effects would be even better if I could use the ores. What are we using them for now this time?"
"We are still running the numbers. Considering the amount, it seems that everyone will have around five hundred kilograms of ores to make their own gear," Sakaki said. "If we give them ten percent of that and some time to work on foraging their own gear, everyone will be able to create some durable equipment."
The ores were even more useful in the hands of people like Rain, who had an insane mana pool. Still, they were trying to come up with a method to repair the ores when they were damaged to make sure that the gear would last for a while.
Rain had no idea how he was going to use the ores yet… it was a tool that they took from the enemies, and that would increase their chances of survival and winning the future battles. Still, he was starting to think like before… when he was much younger. Using some equipment unless it was absolutely necessary was probably only going to hinder his growth.
"... Maybe I could just make the difficult parts and make everyone else build the easy parts of the rings…" Rain thought after a couple of hours of doing that menial work. "That should make things more convenient, like in the industrial revolution... minutes people falling to their deaths inside massive machines."
"It feels like you are acting like one of those kindergarten teachers that draw lines for the kids to complete some drawings," Nigel said and then laughed.
"You guys never get tired of speaking nonsense?" Larisa asked and then sighed. "I captured something unusual on the surface of that planet. It seems something massive is moving through one of the deserts of sand."
"I never asked you guys before, but how you guys can see without eyes?" Rain asked.
"We don't have human bodies, so our bodies don't have to work like humans anymore," Larisa said. "Anyway, look at it."
Rain checked the telescope and tried to find what Larisa was talking about… it didn't take long for him to find a massive centipede in the desert.
The massive centipede moved through the desert, its segmented body undulating in rhythmic waves as it traversed the sandy terrain. Its movements were incredibly swift, smoothly gliding up and down through the dunes with an agility that seemed almost unnatural. The sheer speed at which it navigated the sand caught Rain off guard, making it challenging to track its every motion.
As Rain observed, the coloration of the centipede's exoskeleton became apparent. The creature's body displayed a mesmerizing mix of green and blue, reminiscent of the hues that adorned the first dragons that had wreaked havoc on Earth. The colors seemed to shimmer under the desert sun, creating an ominous spectacle.
The resemblance to the dragons was uncanny, stirring a sense of unease within Rain. The connection between this colossal centipede and the destructive dragons hinted at a shared origin. It raised questions about the nature of the creatures they might encounter on the newly discovered planet and the potential threats lurking in its depths.
"Our guess was right… that planet was destroyed a not very long time ago…" Sakaki said. "One of the creatures that destroyed it still is there. We need to capture it."
"Well, that will be hard… even from here, I can see that the monster is growing stronger, feeding on the mana of that planet," Rain said. "Its blue color comes from the mana while the green comes from the nutrients of the world…"
