Chapter 169: All Aboard!!!

Arc 3, Chapter 169 — All Aboard!!!~

.

.

The wealth of the Church was something they’ve never truly reconsidered or thought deeply of. However, they say there’s no time like the present.

The Cabin’s high ceiling interiors and walls were lined with velvet carpeting with stunning designs and patterns lining its rims. The corner of the walls had peculiar light fixtures that extended out like hands.

Upon entry, the one will be met with an open space with velvet couches and cushioned seats that fitted the aesthetics. There were bookcases in one corner, with another corner filled with even more seats and dining tables.

But what’s this?...

Levon’s eyes dimmed in scrutiny. It seems there were TWO separate sleeping quarters on the opposite ends of the shared quarters. And since they were the first to come on board, they looked through all sleeping quarters on each end of the train and chose the rooms on the Left side of the shared quarters.

It’s obvious that the Left side had just the right amount of bedrooms for them—5.

As for the rooms across the open entry space on the far right side of the train, they counted a total of 5 Bedrooms there... with 2 having bunk beds in them. It seems that the total number of people from the other group should be 7.

Good. They found that each side had one bathroom too.

The rooms and the bathrooms were lined alongside the narrow corridor hallway. And at the end of each hallway, was a door, leading to a small terrace.

Levon stood outside the terrace, looking at the massive pin in place that connected their cabin to another cabin.

If someone were to remove this pin, the train would go ahead with the other cabins from 1~31... and leave them and many other cabins behind.

So scary.

Levon made a mental note to guard this connecting joint, less someone’s jealousy gets the better of them.

"Hey, brother Levy, check it out. There’s a small ladder here." Rayna announced, already climbing up the spiraling ladder that took them above the roof.

The roof had fixed chairs and an open source dedicated for training.

This was great! Now, they don’t have to waste time doing nothing during the next 4 days.

One must never forget that when they arrive, they’ll begin Phase 2. So how can they be lax during these next 4 days of travel?

"It’s not bad... not bad at all."

"Pfft, Buddy... What do you mean by not bad? Don’t you see all the money put into making these cabins?"

Leo and Shgo were chatting while inspecting their new home.

Yes... for the next 4 days, this Cabin was to be their new home. When they left the roof and headed back into the cabin, they came face to face with the other group they’d be sharing the space with.

It was a group of 7, who had the most arrogant expression one could think of. They acted like they were Kings and Queens, standing from a high post, looking down at their subjects.

It’s true that they had a hint of fear and some respect for those with higher shard grades. But in the end... so long as they were ALL still Bloodren 10s, don’t think they’ll be groveling at the feet of Levon and the others.

Hmph!

One shouldn’t also forget that they harbor some hatred for these top tier Bloodrens who garnered more fame and reputation during the Phase 1 competitions.

Many secretly swore that during these Phase 2 competitions, they will rise up and prove that they too can be equally dashing, just like these Higher Pile-ranked Bloodrens.

The group of 7 consisted of 5 boys and 2 girls. Their leader was a Pile-17 guy, while the weakest of them was a Pile-7 girl.

In the face of Levon’s oppressive group, these people didn’t falter, puffing their chests out and continuing their observations.

Levon chuckled softly.

They say together, many seem courageous. But when you pluck them one by one and keep them in individual spaces... their courage diminishes by half.

Still, what’s it got to do with him?

????

...

The Cabin Fever was spreading, as many felt a wave of excitement after seeing what their new homes looked like. For some, this was their first time traveling by train.

Mind you, everyone has gotten on a train before, trains allowing one to stand or sit uncomfortably with strangers. But this was the first time many were traveling on trains with sleeping accommodations.

Like so, an additional 27 minutes went by with many groups finally finding their way to their Cabins.

Don’t forget that the train spanned for as far out as the eyes could see.

Many were afraid that if they didn’t reach their cabins fast, the strain would start, leaving them behind. So they unleashed their shards, hopped on and sped off into the distance till they reached their new homes.

All BOARD!~

The group of young Bloodren 10s were tempted to yell out this phrase when the train suddenly started running.

But what’s this?... Why isn’t Winhest coming along too?

Winhest had an unfathomable grin when waving at them.

Ugh~

Everyone felt a chill crawl up their spines. If possible, they don’t wish to see this guy sending them off, okay?

Drm-Drm-Drm~

The train’s moved at a steady pace, rather than going at sonic speed. This was a fact that surprised them greatly—It was going at the standard speed most train’s today go by.

Seated on cushioned seats by windows in the main Entrance/sitting space, both groups relaxed into their seats, watching the scenery pass by.

Where is it they were going? Who knows...

But one thing was certain: when the train stops, the competitions begin!

~Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Soon, they passed the stunning Greenery.... And then, everything went dark. That’s right! They were in a dark tunnel, cashing the entire cabin to fall into darkness too.

(Silence)

Except for the sounds of the train’s hooves and teaming churns, silence was all that greeted the group of young Bloodrens in the cabin.

5 minutes went by and the darkness still didn’t go away. In the pitch atmosphere, everyone’s eyes glowed like those of ferocious beasts. Their senses were heightened, their auras wild, and their bodies unhinged.

An additional 10 minutes went by, followed by 15... 20... and even 45 minutes of staying in utter darkness. Until finally at the 50th-minute mark, the train’s head finally poked out of the tunnel.

The first few cabins were now bathed in sunlight, but Levon knew their turn was coming after seeing frail streaks of light illuminate the tunnel’ walls.

—Beautiful

Looking down below, everyone came face to face with a majestic forest with towering green trees.

Levon and many others also noticed they were now on a train track suspended by majestic beams. If Levon had to estimate, he would say that the distance between the ground below and then, was approximately 10,000 feet.

This was even higher than many Grand canyons scattered across the world.

No suspended bridge should be as tall as this train track. So wasn’t this already breaking world records?

You don’t get it, do you? From the ground, if anyone were to look up to the train bridge, they would think it was a train in the skies, floating alongside the clouds.

Such a height was disastrous for any who fear heights. And it was also very cold up here too.

The train’s tracks were supported by gigantic beams kept in place to support the tracks.

Down below, were forests filled with greenery and life. But the trees for some reason, stopped growing 170 feet away from the massive rectangular beams supporting the tracks.

It seemed that the grounds around these beams were bare and barren compared to the vibrant appearance of the forest.

...

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh~

The train continued on course, as time trickled by slowly. Soon everyone became comfortable, doing their own thing without a care in the world.

Well, that was it.

Their group of cabin-mates went about their way, some heading to the roof for outdoor training, others heading back into their rooms, and some staying in the shared space, exploring the place even more.

As for Levon’s group... Rayna and Leo were playing cards, while Shugo was munching on snacks and snoring in his sleep.

It was funny how he kicked his left leg like a rabbit, when lying on a comfy velvet chair. Artilla also munched on a few now-crushed muffins, while also reading a book from the bookshelf.

Levon also joined Artilla, swirling his lollipop in his mouth while reading a book beside the windows too... But suddenly—

Hmmm?

Levon froze. He felt he saw a shadow flicker by. Narrowing his gaze out the windows and into the woods down below, Levon watched for a bit longer.

’Must be my imagination...’

Soon, he drew his attention back to the book he held... not knowing that in the darkness, a cruel smile stretched unnaturally, with one thought in mind.
