As they neared each other, their breath making contact and mingling, and their lips dangerously nearing the gaps, Marionette watched as Lillian raised her free hand.

Boop.

Lillian's index finger placed itself on the tip of the Assassin's nose. This gesture caused the woman to freeze, her eyes glowing a confused light.

Marionette moved her gaze away from the finger and at the girl, grinning at her teasingly. She then heard her say:

"In the past, I've always seen you as a strict person, Mari~... Heh~..." Her lips opened, letting out a soft giggle that turned playful.

Her finger moved down from the Assassin's nose. Her hand then reached under Marionette's chin, wrapping it with her finger, she said:

"But you can't last a few or so months~?"

Lillian's legs then turned blurry as they started to bend at an unnatural angle. It became fluid, see-through, and watery. It stretched up, causing Rabbit's upper body to rise higher from the ground.

Lillian, now at eye-level with the Assassin, leaned into the woman's ear and whispered:

"Calm yourself, Marionette~..." Her chest pressing against the red-eyed woman, "Or else you'll be the one losing this 'mere' competition of ours~..."

Her hand then raised to the Marionette's other cheek, firmly clutching it. She then whispered again:

"Don't you hate losing more than anyone else~?"

At these words spoken by the Rabbit, who continued to stand at the same height as the woman, with the help of her magic, Marionette spoke:

"Lose? I am not losing if I were to break these rules set up by both of us. Gaining and having you is a win, either way." Marionette's hand, wrapped around the back of Lillian's head, moved to the girl's chin, tilting it up.

"No matter how you may describe it. Us breaking the rules is considered a win for the both of us." The Assassin leaned in towards the girl, having already adapted to her current height.

"So, why resist? The longer you prolong the inevitability, the harsher it will become..."

"Oh~? And what is that supposed to mean?" Lillian asked, keeping Marionette's face in place, "Is that a threat?"

Marionette blinked at her before smiling maliciously, "No... But me forcing a kiss on you is one." Just as she was about to pull Lillian in, she watched as the girl's entire body became fluid.

Lillian passed through Marionette's hold and straightened her blazer coolly, returning to her regular height.

Once she had fixed her clothes, she smiled at the Assassin with a knowing look, "I guess that is a threat. But if you do that, I'll be mad~..."

Marionette stiffened as her breath hitched.

Lillian tilted her head, noticing the frozen expression on the woman's face. She continued to smile, "Would you really want that? If I were to remember correctly, you didn't take it that well last time~... Even if I wasn't really mad."

Seeing that the Assassin wasn't going to respond, she moved in, patting the woman's cheek with a cheerful smile, "Worry not, my dear Mari~! I'll let you do whatever you want to me as a reward for your patience when we become official."

At the word 'Reward', Marionette nodded slowly, which then turned into an energetic nod as she thought longer about it.

Lillian smiled, patting her shoulder and muttering, "Now that's a good girl~..." After saying that, she turned and walked down the alleyway.

Marionette rested her back against the wall, holding a hand over the lower half of her face before getting up from it and following Lillian.

Classes had just ended for the day. They were currently back in the dorms. More specifically, Marionette's.

"Hmm..." Lillian tapped her chin with the back of her pen. Her face hardened as her brows furrowed in deep thought. She stared at her notebook as she rested the back of her head on Marionette's lap.

She was currently figuring out what to get from the shop with her current points [19,493].

Although she could buy something ridiculously powerful, the only issue with that would be if she was either:

A. Strong enough to use it and be able to survive any kind of backlash it may give due to the enchantments.

B. Having to explain where she had got such an item, which she didn't want to do.

C. That would cause her to use up a large majority of her points.

She needed to keep some beforehand. Potions are a necessary factor in her winning battles. The Spider was a perfect example of that.

But she had also realised that if she were to lose her only weapon, that could prove troublesome. Although her magic was strong enough to win her a partial number of battles against those of the same tier as her...

She snuck a glance up at the Assassin's face, who was distracted by the news.

'There are always those monstrously strong...'

Marionette eyes blinked at the news before looking down at Lillian, noticing her gaze. She tilted her head, "Yes?"

"What weapon do you think I should use as a secondary?"

Marionette raised an eyebrow, "A second weapon?" She repeated, rubbing the top of the Rabbit's head. "I think you should be thinking about what kind of weapon you should be carrying instead."

Lillian eyes shone with a confused light, "Carry?" She repeated, getting a brief nod from the woman.

"Carry the weapon you are second most proficient with. Or carry the one that would deal the most damage with the least amount of skill."

Lillian scratched her cheek, "I guess..."

"I believe you were told which weapon would suit you best."

"Hm? Really?" Lillian stared at her strangely, "When?"

"Mhm. During our first week in our Survival Combat Class. Mr Corran told you about the Jian, an eastern short sword."

"Oh, right...!"

Lillian jotted down the name of the sword. She then scratched the side of her head, "I also think I should get something else..."

"May I ask what you mean?"

Lillian rubbed her chin, thinking deeply.

"Something... Hand-to-Hand, maybe?"

"Hand-to-Hand?" Marionette widened her eyes slightly, "I thought you hated hand-to-hand combat." fгeewebnovёl.com
