I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 289: Love Tribulation
Chapter 289: Love Tribulation
He caressed his cheeks, his hand moved down to his throat. It was very easy to kill a man.
Malik had killed so many. Criminals, Sinners. He had never felt the urge to kill someone whose aura was so clean, whose mind was so pure.
Like a white dove.
"I did not understand it. I have never felt the desire to kill someone like you before. It was as if I kill you, only then would you be mine. Those emotions were not normal so I gave you a chance."
Someone with such a pure noble personality would not release Lestin. He had been adequately surprised, even though the little fool had gone and fallen sick.
Malik chuckled, "It was the first time I nursed someone who was sick. It was the first time I felt nervous. I had to test the soup so many times to make sure it was the right temperature and I had to change the towel so many times. It was so bothersome but taking care of you made me happy."
He sounded like it was such a fond memory.
Anouk looked at him shocked. When he had felt better, Malik had just stood up and left.
"You refused to even stay for lunch."
Malik bent down, his nose on Anouk’s neck as he took in his scent. He wondered whom he was punishing with this absence.
"I had an examination that afternoon."
"Ah!" Anouk’s brain continued to short-circuit. "I tried to contact you and you..?"
Malik cocked his head, "I was 17 years old, Dove."
Anouk’s ears blushed red and he shook his head, "I was not thinking of doing anything to you."
Malik nodded, "I know but I was thinking of doing quite a lot to you." His tone was deeper, the way they always did whenever Malik was thinking of X-rated content.
"Malik, you said that you wanted to kill me so that I could be yours. What do you mean by that?" He leaned forward so that his neck was completely in Malik’s hand. There was a small smile on his face as he looked at Malik.
"Anouk. You should not doubt yourself or doubt me either. You are set up high within my heart and no one can reach you." His tone was so light that Anouk was not sure that he heard him clearly.
His Adam’s apple bobbed and he asked in an almost quiet whisper, "What did you say?"
Malik took away his hand from Anouk’s neck and held his hand, "That day, it was not only you that felt it." One look and he could not behold anyone else. He wanted to delay such an irrational emotion but the more time he spent with the cold superhero, the more he wanted him.
"One more chance, Anouk. You already know the type of person I am. I would give you one more chance to leave; this is your only chance." This brave porcelain dove. If he stays, he might one day just shatter him.
Anouk felt like the scales on his eyes had fallen off. He had been so absorbed in his self-doubt that he had never seen the signs that seemed to be littered around him.
Malik was telling him that he had one more chance yet he was holding him tighter than ever. That day, he was not the only one who had felt like his spinning galaxy had come to a stop.
His wet eyes stared at his lover, "Malik, do you love me?"
"Yes. I love you." Malik said, his voice was pious.
This feeling in his chest, this feeling that made him feel both weak and strong. This feeling like this person was holding a piece of a soul that he was missing.
Maybe it was just Anouk who had been afraid. He had been afraid to admit it but compared to the fear he had when Anouk had walked away, it was nothing.
"I love you, Anouk. I am yours. I have always only been yours." How foolish but Malik did not regret it. He could feel something in his heart, like a lone boat had finally docked.
The sky rumbled.
It was foolish. There was no escaping his fate. The day he had felt Anouk’s energy, he was destined to love this person even above himself.
And Malik liked himself the most.
"You.." Anouk stammered, "Can you say that one more time?"
Malik smiled, "I love you." The hand that was holding Anouk’s hands finally loosened. They moved upwards, his palm flat against that broad back, he hugged him without any hesitation.
The sky rumbled even louder.
Anouk’s eyes glistened, he buried his head in Malik’s sleeve, breathing in that cold scent, like someone who had tasted the sweetness of the candy jar and refused to give it back, demanding more.
"When you left after I raided Axum, you hurt me. Malik, you hurt me so much. I could not even go back home." He complained.
"En. I am sorry. I was wrong. Forgive me, dove."
Anouk nodded, he had already forgiven Malik for all the wrongs he would commit against him in the future. The bliss of having his happiness validated gradually welled up in his heart.
"And you don’t tell me anything. I can’t tell what you are thinking."
Malik could only helplessly coax him, "I will tell you everything you want to know from now on."
"And I want us to stay together and you have to meet my parents."
"Okay. Anything else?" His voice was throaty with an indistinct hint of laughter in his voice.
"You have to follow me to work parties and meet my friend."
"Okay."
"You have to eat spicy ducks with me every weekend."
"Okay."
"And you..."
"You are going to ask for more?"
Anouk raised his head and laughed. He laughed so easily around Malik.
As they moved away from the hug, Malik stretched his hand towards Anouk. His fingers brushed from Anouk’s temple to his lips. His thumb slowly brushes Anouk’s lips.
Anouk’s tongue darted out to lick his thumb. He looked at the man in front of him and felt like he was so happy that his heart could just burst.
Like his soul was content.
At that moment, he forgot everything. The item, the man. Just like the day that he had met Malik, he was spellbound.
"Malik. I love you. In life, In death. My heart is yours. My body is yours. Malik, even my soul is yours." There were no words; this was a vow that Anouk was making.
Suddenly, the sky darkened even more, clouds swirling ominously. The dark clouds rolled as crimson-red lightning surged within it. Large bolts of lightning that surged within the clouds seemed like wriggling pythons.
Rumble.
They emitted an extremely terrifying aura that caused one’s heart to palpitate.
However, the two people down could barely be bothered by what was going on above them.
"Mine?" Malik asked, his lips were pulled into a smile. His green eyes had flecks of white, his body glowed slightly. He ignored the raving thunder.
"Yes. Yours."
Malik smiled, his lips pressed against Anouk. Those lips felt impossibly soft and the way they pressed against his felt so right.
Rumble!
An enormous bang that shook the world resounded. The tribulation seemed to be enraged by Malik’s action and sent lightning bolts down as if to destroy quickly.
It happened so quickly, Malik felt a heavy gust of wind push him meters away.
The terrifying bolt of lightning that made one scalp go numb charged down on where Anouk was.
Malik stood transfixed. Anouk’s energy dimmed immediately.
