House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 214: Inaction III
Chapter 214 - Inaction III
(Drakken's POV)
"I need to come to an understanding." Saera said as she sat down on the couch, "You don't want to continue the war?"
"Not now." I said as I grabbed some wine, "There is a plan for everything."
"You should crush them all. That should be your plan." She said
"How many wars have you been in?" I raised an eyebrow, "Hm?"
"Hmph." She looked away
"None." I said, "How many wars do you think I have been in?"
"I don't know. Several." She said as she gave me a frown
I poured wine into a cup and looked at her, "Thousands." I said as I placed the jug down and picked the cup up, "Thousands of wars. And have I lost any of them? No. Sure, I have lost battles and all....but in the end, I win."
"Thousands?" Saera said, "That is impossible. How old are you?"
I took a sip from the cup, "Very old." I said, "Much older than your Targaryen Dynasty. Probably older than Old Valyria.....maybe not."
She frowned, "You're older than my father?" She asked, "You don't look like it."
"Hm, your parents are but children to me." I said, "As are you. But....what good is thinking like that going to do? Nothing. The point is, I know what I am doing. The whole purpose of this is to provoke the Faith. Nothing more, nothing less."
"I thought it was to unleash fury on those who look down upon you." She said
I walked over to her, "You truly don't know anything." I said before taking a sip of my cup, "That is a mere bonus. By spreading the influence of the Trinity, I will threaten the Faith and the worship of other gods. I care not for the Old Gods but if they wanna reveal themselves, they can. Any other god who wants me gone should try and do something about it. The consequences will not be pretty."
"I see...." She said, "I suppose you are the god of war. Unrelenting destruction is not all you can do."
"Patience is key to some wars." I told her, "And I have lots of it."
"I don't." She scowled, "I want them all dead."
I set the cup down on the table next to her and then leaned down towards her, placing my hand on her thigh.
"Not everyone gets what they want." I told her, "You need to learn to mature, Saera. You want power? I will grant it when you earn it. The power I possess is not something that can be gained so easily. Not everyone deserves it."
"I will deserve it when I bear you a son that will destroy everything." She said with a smirk, "When that son will become the epitome of power. You will be proud."
"We'll see." I told her
"You will." She said, "You underestimate my ambition, my desire to please you."
"I estimate it just fine." I said as I clutched her by the chin and began to drain her, "Don't go around fucking my plans up, Saera. Otherwise, I will no longer share your bed. Need I remind you what your purpose here is?"
She blushed as the light caused her skin to glow, "My purpose is to solely be your source of bliss." She said, "My purpose is to worship you, to do as you command, My Love~"
"Good." I said as I let her go and straighten up, "You've caused enough bloodshed."
"Now is the time to wait."

(Third Person POV)
[The Red Keep]
King Jaehaerys was approached by the Kingsguard who escorted someone who wore a cloak.
It wad the dead of the night and a meeting had to take place, yet the King could not risk going outside the walls. So the person he was meeting with had to be brought inside.
He looked at the person, "So." He said, "You must know that reaching out to me is a significant risk."
The person lowered their hood, revealing to be a woman with pale skin and red hair. Her eyes were as dark as the shadows.
"King Jaehaerys." The woman said with an Essosi accent, "To think you would even accept the request. You truly are desperate."
"That is one way to put it." Jaehaerys said with a scowl, "Enough of the jokes, lest you want me to change my mind."
"We only want what you want." She said, "To be rid of the Trinity. There is an issue, however. It will take much longer than your Septon wants it to. They are infestation, the Trinity worshippers. And you cannot be rid of the pests within a night. You need to root them out and properly destroy them."
"While the Trinity is becoming an issue." Jaehaerys started, "My current problem is a looming war."
"So that is what you want?" The woman asked, "To prevent further bloodshed? That could be done. Our Lord provides after all. The War-Priests have located a source of power in your region known as the Riverlands. With enough patience and planning, a proper strike will cause this...Drakken...to rethink his choices."
"Your Lord...." Jaehaerys said, "The Red God."
"I understand that any mention of the Lord of Light is rather blasphemous. But I assure you, it is better than recognizing the False God, Drakken." The Woman told him, "We both want him gone. It will be better for the entire world is he is gone."
"Can you kill him?" He asked her
"I heard of what happened a few years ago." The woman said, "He tricked you into driving a false sword into his heart. Quite cruel."
"Can your god kill him or not?" Jaehaerys narrowed his eyes
"Our Lord provides us with the proper guidance for everything. But when he does not, it means he has not deemed it appropriate." The woman explained, "As for now, he's only provided us the means to sever the link to his power. A source of magic so potent that even the Lord of Light took notice."
"Hm...." Jaehaerys said, "Are you sure that will force him to stop the war?"
"Our Lord said it so." She said, "Just give us enough time and preparations. We'll need to breach the Riverlands and strike when the time comes. Perhaps your Black Dread can help with that."
"The Lord might need use of Balerion."
