High School of Demon Hunting-Chapter 353 - 22 Visitors_1
Chapter 353: Chapter 22 Visitors_1
When the visitors arrived in the ward, it was already after seven o’clock in the evening.
Having eaten dinner early with the help of the little elves, Zheng Qing started counting on his fingers, trying to endure the passing of each minute and second in this boring time.
Although Lin Guo was in the same ward as him, for some reason, the curtains around the boy wizard’s bed had not been taken down, and the bed was quiet without a hint of sound.
If it wasn’t for the nurse who repeatedly assured him that the patient on the bed was only sleeping, Zheng Qing would never have stayed quietly in his bed in silence.
The sky had already gone dark.
The rain hadn’t stopped and was still falling gently.
The noisy footsteps in the corridor gradually disappeared, becoming sporadic instead of dense.
It wasn’t until the minute hand on the clock jumped again that Zheng Qing finally heard the long-awaited voices in the corridor.
"What terrible weather!" Xin Fat Man’s loud voice was very clear even through the wall.
"Shut up, Fat Man, this is a hospital!" A crisp female voice followed warningly, "Show some decency!"
Upon hearing this, Zheng Qing couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows in surprise. He hadn’t expected this lady to come too.
As expected, the voices in the corridor were hushed down by ’decency’.
With a flurry of footsteps, the door to the ward was forcefully pushed open.
A crowd squeezed in, making the once spacious room seem cramped.
Along came the cold and humid air from outside the ward and the somewhat noisy night breeze from the corridor.
The patient in the bed couldn’t help but shiver.
However, the familiar figures standing before him made him smile brightly.
"What terrible weather!" After closing the door to the ward, Xin Fat Man immediately went back to his previous topic, "It’s been raining all day, non-stop... I originally had scheduled interviews with several club leaders outdoors, but the whole thing was ruined!"
"Your problem is nothing," Duan Xiao Jian immediately chimed in arrogantly, "The student council was supposed to rehearse the opening ceremony for the school hunting party this afternoon, but it got canceled... Our entire department ran around all day yesterday without using any of the heap of equipment we prepared... Feels like we’ve been abandoned by the heavens."
This topic seemed to hurt Xin Fat Man’s feelings and his face immediately fell.
"We have indeed been abandoned!" Zhang Ji Xin looked around and lowered his voice mysteriously, "I heard from my brother that the senior sister in charge of this month’s meteorological changes at the observatory got dumped. So, she filed a report and poured all the rain for the month at once..."
"There’s such a thing?" The faces of the people next to him exposed their shock.
"Absolutely an insider’s news, it can’t be wrong!" Zhang Ji Xin’s face turned red as he patted his chest confidently.
Zheng Qing was listening to the guys’ nonsense, his attention was drawn to the gifts brought by the girls.
Jiang Yu was holding a large bouquet of orchids, busily arranging them in a vase in front of the bed; Li Meng was holding a large glass box with the logo ’Double Tang Note’ printed on it. Dahlias were dancing on the cookie floor, and large sprays of white candy flowers were falling from mid-air, creating a very sweet and delicious scene.
"I heard you ’got hospitalized’ again, I’m very pleased." Li Meng held up her chin, wearing a smirk, "Now no one can say I’m constantly sick... at least I’ve been in hospital less times than you."
"Meng Meng!" Jiang Yu had just finished arranging the flowers and was about to use a spell to collect some dew, but she heard her little cousin’s impolite words and jumped up in anger, "Stop fooling around!"
"Blah blah..." The little witch stuck out her tongue, held up the glass box in her hand, and forcefully ’placed’ it on Zheng Qing’s leg.
"This is from me... and my cousin... and the other girls, and boys, as a gift to you, hoping you get well soon, and all that." Li Meng rolled her eyes, stood with her hands on her hips, and recited a flippant blessing, seemingly oblivious that the patient in the bed was gasping for breath due to the weight of her glass gift.
"Li Meng!" Jiang Yu’s brows furrowed in anger.
The little witch pouted and quietly moved towards the back of the bed.
"It’s ok, it’s ok." Zheng Qing bearing the pain in his leg, grinned and grabbed Jiang Yu’s robes, "It’s all a joke, no big deal..."
Jiang Yu sighed and shook her head.
"How are you feeling? When can you be discharged?" As the only reliable visitor, Jiang Yu was much better than others, "Do you need to ask Professor Yao for leave tomorrow?"
"No need, no need," Zheng Qing waved his hands continuously, put his arm in a posture of strength, and smiled, "There was no big problem in the first place, but as a precaution, I was stuffed with a lot of medicine... the therapist said I could be discharged tomorrow morning, it won’t delay the first class."
As soon as he finished speaking, Li Meng’s snickering laughter could be heard.
Zheng Qing looked at the little witch with a fierce face, his gaze drifted across the corner of the ward, saw the raised white curtain, and he finally remembered another thing.
"Keep your voices down!" he waved his hands energetically, trying to quiet down the noisy ward, "There’s more than just me here... Lin Guo is still sleeping..."
"I’m already awake!" a nasal voice answered from the tent.
An awkward smile appeared on Zheng Qing’s face.
"Perfect, we bought extra gifts!" Jiang Yu laughed lightly, shaking her Kun Bag that hung on her wrist, and pulled Li Meng towards the corner, "You guys chat, we’ll go visit the Alpha prodigy..."
The departure of the girls seemed to relieve the boys around the bed.
Xin Fat Man and Duan Xiao Jian came over almost immediately.
"Explain yourself, who are you going to choose!" Fat Man clenched the patient’s collar, lowered his voice, gritted his teeth and said, "You can’t be too greedy..."
"Exactly, exactly, leave some room for the future, so it’ll be easier later!" Duan Xiao Jian chimed in with some irrelevant words, edged closer, his voice equally hushed, "As the Master said, do not do unto others what you don’t want done unto you."
"What nonsense." The young scholarship student looked confused.
"What they’re trying to say is, between the Gypsy witch and Jiang Yu, who do you choose?" Xiao Xiao, arms crossed over his notebook, stood behind the group and explained lightly.
"We, as wizards of the first university, should behave ethically and conscientiously. We cannot have our foot in two boats." Zhang Ji Xin concluded with a serious expression.
The others immediately nodded in agreement.
Zheng Qing’s face instantly darkened.
