Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 133: Unexpected Revelations
Chapter 133: Unexpected Revelations
Tears began to welled up in his eyes as he trembled, when suddenly, Sylas’s hand, which was still firmly holding his, tightened slightly.
Rocco glanced at him, and when he timidly looked up, he saw Sylas’s face, slightly turned downward, a look of anger on his features.
Rocco’s eyes grew even more teary as he thought, Oh no!
However, Sylas, unaware of Rocco’s distress as clenched his teeth and muttered softly under his breath.
"That bastard Laxus... he said this old bastard would come late..."
The voice was so soft that Rocco was sure only he could hear it.
He noticed Sylas’s subtle murderous intent directed at Laxus, and for the first time, he understood just a little of what Sylas meant.
It seemed that Sylas and Laxus had been planning something together, possibly working in secret.
From the words Sylas had just spoken, it seemed like he was wary of the Head of the Del Fiore family.
Perhaps Laxus had told Sylas that the Head of the Del Fiore family would be a little late to arrive.
In other words, Laxus might have fed Sylas false information?
And now Sylas was angry about it?
That’s likely the case.
Rocco slowly shifted his gaze towards the Head of the Del Fiore family.
Since Sylas was so visibly shaken and angry, the plan Laxus and Sylas had been working on must have been something very important.
It was clear that Sylas was cautious of the Head of the Del Fiore family.
That much was certain.
If that was the case, then Rocco knew he should also stay on alert.
For Sylas to rely on Laxus and be this cautious meant it was something serious.
After all, in the original story, "Makarov Del Fiore" was portrayed as a madman, so Rocco had already been on guard.
With Sylas being so wary in the present, he knew he had to be even more cautious.
"Hey, hey, Rocco..."
"Eek, y-yes!"
The moment he made up his mind, this happened!
Rocco wanted to cry internally as he looked up.
Rocco almost felt like crying from being singled out without any chance to be on guard, but he fought back the impulse and coolly stared at Makarov.
Makarov smiled brightly toward him, his expression flawless.
Seeing him like this, Rocco couldn’t help but think that they really were a lot alike... His smile reminded him so much of Laxus’s mask-like grin.
"You’ve spent a lot of time playing with our Laxus, huh? Thank you. You two are close in age, so I guess you get along well?"
Close in age? They were six years apart, though...
Rocco’s smile stiffened, but he nodded his head, making sure not to show his confusion. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Y-yes! We played a lot. It was fun."
It was such a childish response that Rocco felt a little bit embarrassed by it.
As expected, Makarov chuckled lightly, and Laxus, seemingly drawn in by that laughter, followed suit.
His laugh was, as always, so similar to his father’s.
"You played a lot, huh? I see, I see. He says they had a lot of fun, Marcus."
As Rocco mentally scolded himself for sounding so childish, Makarov suddenly switched his attention to his father, smiling as he spoke to him.
Hearing the words, Rocco understood them with his mind, and in that moment, he froze in shock, his expression wide-eyed as if he had just seen a ghost.
That’s right!
Laxus’s frequent invasions of the Di Malvento estate were supposed to be a secret...!
Panicking, Rocco quickly glanced up, and the first thing he saw was Sylas, sighing in exasperation, his expression one of disbelief.
It was as though Sylas was thinking, "Is he really that much of an idiot?"
Rocco quickly waved his arms, flustered, and tried to deny the accusation.
"N-no, I didn’t play!"
"Really? You didn’t play?"
"I didn’t! I was just... petting the dog!"
He flailed his arms and spun around nervously.
Even though he was desperately trying to explain, it felt like everything was just getting worse.
The more he lied, the deeper the hole he was digging for himself.
"A dog? You have a dog, huh? It must be really cute. By the way, what’s the dog’s name? I’m so curious!"
No pet owner would be unhappy about their dog being praised.
Rocco puffed up with pride at the compliment for his fluffy Laxus, feeling pleased as he confidently prepared to share the dog’s name.
"Heh, it’s Laxus. He’s such a cute dog. Really fluffy!"
In that moment, there was a sudden silence, followed by two long sighs from beside him.
What was going on?
Rocco looked around, puzzled.
Sylas and his father were both pressing their foreheads, sighing deeply, while Makarov and Laxus across the room seemed to be quietly shaking with suppressed laughter.
What was going on?
Why were they all acting like this?
As he stood there in confusion, a loud laugh suddenly erupted from the room, making Rocco jump in surprise.
What now?
"How cute! Hey, Laxus, didn’t you want that kid? It’s okay, let’s make that kid join our family!"
"Is that true?! Yay! Thank you, Father!"
Makarov and Laxus suddenly burst into excited, joyful chatter, while the Di Malventos, in stark contrast, began to radiate a heavy, tense atmosphere.
Rocco trembled nervously, wondering what caused this sudden shift in mood, when suddenly there was a loud thud, a sound of something slamming against the table, making him jump in surprise.
He glanced toward the source of the sound and quickly realized it was his father, who had struck the table with his fist.
Well, this was someone else’s home, so maybe he should tone it down a little...
"Our child isn’t going to marry anyone... Stop spouting nonsense, Makarov!"
His father muttered, exuding an aura of pure anger.
Hearing this, Rocco could not help but open his mouth in shock.
He didn’t entirely understand what was going on, but one thing was clear: this was not good!
