Heaven Refining physique-Chapter 99: Bringing Fenglai
Chapter 99: Bringing Fenglai
Not to mention, after hearing it from her mother, she knew that these two were quite similar. That’s why, even at their age, when others usually don’t have good relationships with each other, they still acted like sisters.
If not for the fact that it was proven that these two weren’t fated, others would have definitely believed that they were.
She sighed and looked toward Yin Ni, who still seemed lost in thoughts about her past. Well, here goes nothing... she could take a little teasing; it wasn’t a big deal.
"Aunt."
"Hmm... what is it?"
"When I had first seen Jiang Hao about seven years ago, he was a mortal, far from the cultivation world. So what led to this change, and what physique did he acquire?"
Yin Ni smiled, and when Yao Ying saw that, she braced herself.
"Curious, are we? Why not ask him directly? Although he has quite an unapproachable personality, I doubt he would refuse to answer you.
Well, anyway, it’s not a big deal. I will tell you in even more detail. Come here, sit.
This will take a while because I will tell you how I first woke up after surviving in that piece of the Voidbound Circlet, which is now a ring... but before that, how about you tell me about all the major events that have occurred in the upper world?"
Yao Ying nodded and started narrating all the events she had heard...
...
Jiang Hao came down from the mountain and looked around. The trees in this area were far bigger than the ones growing at the edge of the forest. This was definitely because the density of spirit qi was far richer here.
After walking for a while, he stopped and looked around, finding the biggest tree.
After selecting one, he climbed it. Even the thinnest branches of these trees were strong enough to bear his weight, so if he wanted, he could easily climb to the crown of the tree.
But he found himself a good, wide branch and laid down, thinking about everything that had happened until now. His cultivation journey had been smooth sailing so far. Even if there were some obstacles, they never proved to be a true challenge for him.
He had thought that he would always be alone in this treacherous world, but he had found some companions whom he could truly trust.
Not to mention this new dilemma of being fated with someone. No matter what, he really couldn’t deny this bond—it was truly intriguing. It felt so natural that he had the feeling he knew her deeply, even though it was only their first meeting today.
He sighed and looked toward his hand. The ring he was wearing was part of a Universal Treasure. The day he had bound this ring, he had gained knowledge about it.
He knew that it was damaged, but he couldn’t figure out which part. Was it damaged because it was made from a fraction of the Voidbound Circlet, or did it become damaged again when it was transformed into a ring?
Would using void stones restore it to the Voidbound Circlet? He doubted it would be that easy.
There was another dimension in this ring. It was different from the one in which he stored everything, and he was sure it was a different dimension than the one where Senior Yin Ni resided.
Her dimension was definitely hidden; he still wasn’t able to sense it or enter on his own accord.
If he recovered this ring using void stones, would these other dimensions open? It might be possible.
Senior Yin Ni never mentioned it. She definitely knew about it—there was no doubt about that—he should ask her. If she wanted to tell him, she definitely would.
He looked toward the mountain and thought of one more thing. Should he ask Yao Ying to bring Senior Huan and the others here or not? This mountain might be the safest place in the entire world.
After thinking for a while, he denied that thought himself. Although he felt he had quite a deep relationship with her, he didn’t know how she felt. Maybe she was strong enough to weaken fate’s effect on herself.
Although Senior Yin Ni had said that it was far more difficult to erase the bond of fate, it wasn’t impossible.
He wondered if he had the strength to change it or break it—would he have done it? After thinking for a while, he came to a single conclusion: it was really quite difficult to even think about, and he might really not be able to do it.
Again, that was just his perspective. He shook his head and dismissed the thought.
Even in the forbidden zone, they were living easily, so there was no lethal threat that forced them to move away. If there truly wasn’t any path left for them, then it wouldn’t be too late to consider this option.
He couldn’t compromise the safety of others just because of his assumptions.
Although he decided against bringing the others here, there was one he truly wanted to bring—Fenglai.
This place would be perfect for him. He should ask Yao Ying about it.
...
"Well, that’s the whole story. Hope that answers everything you wanted to know?"
Yao Ying nodded expressionlessly, although she was inwardly amazed by how much he had gone through—not to mention that he had obtained a celestial physique.
"Just as expressionless as him. You two are no doubt fated, in the literal sense. I thought you might feel a little jealous, as he was living with three women—not to mention one was almost the same age as him and quite beautiful."
Yao Ying shook her head internally. She had always been like this, totally opposite to her aunt, who was as expressive as one could be.
As for jealousy, she hadn’t even thought about it. If their personalities really matched, then him falling for someone else was impossible.
If not for the fact that they were fated, she doubted he would have ever had a Dao companion in his life—at least, she wouldn’t have, for sure.
"Anyway, let’s call him. I’ve been out for long enough; it’s time for me to rest and recuperate."
Yao Ying nodded. She could even speak with him using the token she had given him, but she had no doubt that Aunt Ni had her own way of informing him through that ring too.
She was right. Jiang Hao, who was lying on the branch enjoying the solitude, felt his ring vibrate. He stood and jumped down from the tree.
He could pretty much guess that Senior Yin Ni was calling him back.
He went back, and it didn’t take him long before he was in front of the house. Yin Ni and Yao Ying were standing there, and as expected, he got the same feeling of his heart in turmoil when he saw Yao Ying again. He sighed inwardly but maintained his composure and approached them.
Yin Ni smiled when she saw him.
"So, we’re going back now?"
Yin Ni asked.
Jiang Hao looked at her and said,
"Senior, I was thinking of bringing Fenglai here—of course, if Senior allows it, that is."
He said it while looking towards Yao Ying.
Yao Ying knew about Fenglai, as she had just heard about him from Yin Ni. She had basically told her about everything that was interesting around Jiang Hao.
"Sure, why not?" She, in fact, wanted him to live here along with his companions, but she wasn’t going to suggest it herself. It was up to him to decide.
Jiang Hao nodded, but there was one problem—he wouldn’t have enough teleportations to go and return with Fenglai.
Looks like he had to go and bring Feng Ting to the Dark Forest before waiting for all his minor teleportations to be available again.
Just as he was thinking about it, Yin Ni entered the ring while saying,
"Let’s go directly there. I’m going to use some spirit stones."
And before he could think about what she meant, he felt a pull. He knew it was the process of teleporting. As expected, when things became clearer, he was beside the lake, and Feng Ting was looking at him with a surprised look.
He was stunned but didn’t ask Senior Yin Ni about it. He just hoped it didn’t consume too many spirit stones.
Before he could think further, he got tackled by Fenglai.
"Would you be a little less expressive? It has been only one day, you know?"
Just as he was about to push Fenglai away, he felt the pull again, and both of them were teleported once more, arriving at the mountain in front of Yao Ying.
Jiang Hao immediately pushed Fenglai away with enough force to even throw him aside and stood up immediately. He was a little embarrassed inwardly for being seen like that.
To distract himself, he went inside his ring to check how many spirit stones had been used in this teleportation process.
He doubted he’d be able to find out, as he didn’t know how many he had before—and even if he did, he wouldn’t be able to tell how many were used, as he couldn’t count them quickly without using spirit sense.
Two seconds later, he came out and looked toward Fenglai, who was thoroughly confused by the turn of events that had just taken place.
"Come to your senses. This is your new home. You’ll be staying here for a while. And don’t worry—it’s far safer than your previous place. Not to mention, it’s far better than it too."
