" A man just can’t catch some peace of mind can he?"

Kailen sighed, his eyes drifting open.

He remained calm, completely ignoring the individual that had just barged into the VIP session.

A couple of whistle sounds accompanied with metallic sounds rung the air ,causing people to scream in shock as they followed the order of the assailant,cowering in fear.

" You think we are joking huh! . This is a highjacking. We have the whole train under our control.Get on your knees, and your shitty hands behind your shitty heads" The assailant spat on the floor as he assaulted a woman staring at him in fear,and unwilling to oblige.

The assault was accompanied with a bullet shooting from his fists ,probably having something to do with his affinity,to the woman’s knee causing her to fall down and yell in pain.

Micheal would have tried to do something about the situation, however the assailant seemed to be an B ranked awakener,from the aura he was radiating.

He remained on his knee with his hands behind his head, his wife following suit, the couple completely worried about their daughter.

However Micheal’s eyes suddenly widened as he stared at the masked assailant approaching the seat in front of him" Right, I was so scared I completely forgot about him. With him here, this situation won’t escalate"

He sighed in relief, waiting for Kailen to handle the situation.

" Seems no matter where I go , some trouble will follow suit. Am I a calamity magnet or something?" Kailen sighed, naturally he wouldn’t interfere in these kind of situations as he didn’t really care about people.

However the assailant in the mask was gazing at him, a bullet hovering before him.

Not forgetting the little girl’s nervous expression as she kept muttering " Uncle is he gonna harm my parents?. Uncle do something please"

"Look at this ignorant teenager, you wanna end up like that lady over there huh. The little girl will also sell at an expensive price.Get on your knees,hand behind your head. As for the child, she will fetch an exorbitant price " The assailant menacing male voice resounded in the VIP session, followed by a menacing laughter as his gaze lingered on the woman bleeding on the floor, almost about passing out.

Micheal clenched his fists so much that blood was dripping from his hands, as the assistant spoke of selling of his daughter " I’m still too weak. A grown ass man like me can’t even protect my family. Had Mr Darkhaven not been around, my wife and I would die, and my girl would be sold off like some merchandise by these deranged awakeners to some shitty person for some child labor or sex trafficking . I have to become stronger to protect them. I can’t go on like this"

"Let’s end this charade quickly. Seems from the aura he’s radiating, he just entered the B rank."

Right when Kailen finished speaking , the man’s own shadow swirled to life in a split second, forming a tenebrous hand that grabbed his neck,lifting him up.

The onlookers revealed gasping expression, completely bewildered about what was happening .

" Usually I won’t interfere in these kind of situations,however not only did you threathen me, you also made this little girl sad" A calm detached voice reverberated throughout the VIP section, accompanied by a figure that stood up from a seat.

Cold dark eyes, black hair, black hoodie, seemingly a teenager,most likely 17 or 18.

Someone seemed to recognize him easily.After all everyone in the train was travelling from New Alexandria City, there wasn’t a single person in New Alexandria City who didn’t know Kailen by now.

" It’s Kailen Darkhaven."

" oh my gosh "

" Thank goodness!"

" Shit, we are screwed. Why didn’t I realize it’s him, of all the people who had to be on this train ,it had to be this monster?"

The assailant choked ,shaking in fear ,suspended in the air by the tenebrous hand that kept choking him.

He was completely scared shitless, he had seen the video of the guild war, although he was from a neighboring city , Kailen’s video at the guild war had travelled to some neghboring cities after all.

’ I should have just stayed at home, had enough money to last me for a week after all. If only I had not listened to that gold digger to get some money to spoil her on her birthday’ A feminine figure appeared in his head,as he cursed himself for losing his reason over a woman.

Those were his last thoughts.

Kailen stood before him,staring at the man being choked by his own shadow,now turned tenebrous hand, with cold,calm detached eyes.

A crisp sound reverberated in the ears of all present at scene , accompanied by sudden halt of the assailant’s motions.

The shadow hands tethered into oblivion, and aided by gravity, the dead body of the assailant fell limply on the floor, a pained,shocked and regretful expression on his lifeless face .

It was obvious that he never expected to die so suddenly .

All eyes were on Kailen, shocked by the young man’s display of power and ruthlessness.

It was one thing seeing how ruthless he was in a video,but seeing it in person was entirely different.

However that shock turned into relief,followed by a clap from a single person that seemed to turn into multiple ones.

" Thank you sir "

" We owe our lives to you"

" I’ll name my unborn child after you sir"

" What an honorable young man"

" As expected of Mr Darkhaven"

" I want to have his babies"

" Somebody get that woman a medic, is there any awakened here who’s a healer or something"

" Damn is she dead ?"

Kailen ignored the crowd,his expression unchanged , about to deal with the rest of the assailants whose shadows he had picked up on through shadow manipulation.

However he felt a slight embrace at his right leg,followed by a soft childlike voice.

" Uncle you are a hero, when I grow up, I wanna be like you!" Kailen smiled softly, brushing his hands through the little girl’s hair .

" Great,I wonder how her parents feel about motivating their little girl to commit murder one day" He chuckled inwardly with sarcasm,then said softly

" Hurry to mum and dad ,uncle has to deal with the bad guys at the other end of the train so that they don’t come to harm you okay?"

Felicia nodded " Mmmm"

Her parents rushed towards her, Micheal looking at Kailen with a complicated expression.

If earlier he had wanted to befriend Kailen because he wanted to find a way to repay him in the future for saving his life and that of his daughter and also so that he would have a less difficult life at the University , now he had another reason he wanted to befriend Kailen. This reason was that he admired Kailen deeply than he did before.

He was a 26 year old man and the latter was just a teenager, however that didn’t matter. Kailen had saved his family thrice, and demonstrated unparalleled strength every time he met him .

In a world teeming with deranged awakeners ,and diabolic beasts, it was normal for people to be acknowledged because of their strength .

Because only the strong could protect the world and ensure the safety of mankind.

Micheal knew that Kailen saving him and his daughter twice,and his whole family was a perfect demonstration of this. For example ,had Kailen been weak, everyone in the VIP section would have been dead by now,including him and his wife ,and his daughter would have probably become a victim of human trafficking.

Micheal snapped out of his thoughts,about to thank Kailen.

However Kailen stopped him ,his voice, calm, neither cold nor warm"Sir , I was only protecting your little girl because I have a soft spot for kids,if there’s anyone you should thank, thank her and honestly I hate it when people threaten me." Kailen voiced his gaze lingering on the dead body of the assailant for a second.

With that, he ignored the grateful expressions of the people in the VIP session ,his figure blurring, disappearing to the other section of the bullet train.

The individuals were all kneeling with their hands behind the heads, expressions of fear visible on their faces .Some of them were wounded ,blood stained in their clothes. It was possible they had tried to resist and had been injured as a result.

Kaiken’s appearance caused the four assailants in masks to turn towards him

" The hell?. What is a teenager doing here?. Kid, do you think you can play hero or something ?"

One of the assailants , a male , voiced with mockery in his voice.

One of them,a female stared at Kailen for a few seconds,then her eyebrows furrowed.

" Something is not right . If Elson had the situation at the VIP section under control, why would a teenager manage to come here from the VIP session and unscathed at that?. Wait,doesn’t he look familiar ?"

An image overlapped in the female assailant’s head, then her body shook.

The image was the same as that of the young man before them.

Kailen Darkhaven. She was at the stadium of course. She had seen how he had effortlessly destroyed the powerhouses of the Sunset Guild.

Honestly the only reason why she was doing this job was to earn money to pay the hospital bills of her grandmother. She had convinced herself that she had no other choice , but to hijack this train and rob the passengers using forceful means, even if it meant injuring a few people.

Even if it involved selling a few people for human trafficking , as long she could get the money to pay her grandmother’s hospital bills, the end would justify her actions.

However , she now realised that they had walked into a trap, a death trap.

She could have continued as a waitress at a diner, but her grandmother had about a year left before she would die if left untreated. What was she supposed to do, keep working at a dinner where she would get a measly salary that could not even manage to pay even half of her grandmother’s bills even if she saved money for the next ten years?

But at least, if she had continued as a waitress, even though her grandmother would have died, she could have lived on , probably married a normal guy one day and continued the family line.

However she chose this path,and she now regretted it.

" Shit. We are screwed " She voiced, the other deranged awakeners staring at her with weird expressions, finding it difficult to understand her words.

" What are you talking about ?"

" Yeah, isn’t he just a teenager?"

The woman sighed " That’s Kailen Darkhaven"

" Are you sure its him?"

" 100 percent sure"
