Harem System: Spending Money On Women For 100\% Rebate!-Chapter 229: Jasmine And Kyle.
They arrived at the hospital, and he was taken in, but Priscilla and Oliver stayed behind alongside Kyle. Jasmine stood awkwardly, looking around at the room filled with people, but she saw a lot of things she had never seen before.
"Kyle, we will need to ask you questions about what happened to him," Priscilla began but Oliver had to step in.
"Now isn't the time, Priscilla. Leave it for later," Olive informed his partner that there was a time and place for these things.
Priscilla kept quiet but Kyle was aware that she couldn't read certain social queues so this was something he didn't particularly mind.
"It is fine…" Kyle said before looking at Jasmine, she was so entranced by everything she saw that she didn't even pay attention to the conversation they were having.
"We got in a fight, he tried to rob me," Kyle said but Priscilla was suspicious by the degree of the wound that he had sustained.
"There is no way he stayed conscious after several blows… You went overboard and could have killed him," Priscilla informed him.
Kyle kept quiet because there was nothing else to say, she was right.
He couldn't control his rage and nearly destroyed a family even if it was in self-defense but the question was, when did it stop being self-defense?
Oliver didn't intrude on the conversation either because Priscilla was asking all the important questions even if the timing didn't favour them.
"I got carried away and nearly killed a man…" Kyle said, taking accountability for his action because he knew he was in the wrong.
"But I didn't," Kyle added but the sense of relief that overcame him when he said these words was evident.
The conversation couldn't go further as a loud rumble was heard. Kyle looked down and realized that it came from Jasmine.
Why the hell was it so loud? Even adults couldn't make such loud noises but this was also proof of how hungry she was.
"Are you hungry?" Kyle asked her and she nodded with a smile.
"Food, food, food!" Jasmine repeated with a big smile on her face, a smile untainted by the world but how?
Kyle didn't know how she was able to be so happy despite living on the streets in one of the poorest and most dangerous neighbourhoods in the country.
Kyle looked at Oliver for approval and he gave him an approving nod.
These people were police officers and not his friends, they did bail him out of a sticky situation.
Kyle had to give them the respect that came with their badges and this was something Oliver appreciated.
Kyle left with Jasmine, who was holding his hand tightly like he was taking her on a tour.
Kyle noticed she looked at the uniformed doctors with curiosity and realized she had no idea what they were.
"Those are the people that will help your brother," Kyle said and Jasmine smiled before turning to him.
"REALLY!?" Jasmine exclaimed with happiness in her eyes but this only drew the attention of everyone around them.
Jasmine quickly ran to one of the doctors but not every doctor was friendly, this was a highly stressed job and Kyle knew this.
"Doctor, is my brother okay?" Jasmine asked a random doctor but the doctor was confused about who she was talking about.
She looked at Kyle before returning her eyes to the girl and saying.
"I'm sure he is alright!" The lady responded with enthusiasm.
Fortunately, the doctor they had run into wasn't a piece of shit and treated Jasmine like a kid.
Optimism was a thing everyone needed in their lives regardless of how grim the reality was.
"You hear that!? He is fine!" Jasmine exclaimed before running back to Kyle.
Kyle smiled at how excited she was and this reminded him that not everyone that was exposed to the same circumstance would turn out the same.
"I told you…" Kyle responded.
"Now they can fix Mama and Papa next!" Jasmine said but Kyle wasn't about to break the news that they were dead to her.
Her brother might be a junkie but it was clear that he managed to shield her from the death of their parents.
That was something that Kyle could respect because it showed that he had his sister's best interest at heart at least.
Kyle took her to the cafeteria and knew he could get her some much-needed food.
If she lived on the street, there was no doubt that basic meals would be luxuries.
Kyle knew he had to get her something that was healthy, he could treat her to snacks later as he was aware it must have been some time since she ate anything remotely healthy.
Kyle got something for her and they both returned to the table, Kyle wasn't a fan of hospital food but this had to do.
Jasmine was salivating but never attempted to take a bite out of the food in front of her.
Mashed potatoes with a little stew in the middle but this was the best meal in the world to a girl that was used to eating scraps.
"Let's see who can finish their food first!" Kyle urged her, playing his favourite game.
And Jasmine didn't need much encouragement as she dug her spoon into the mashed potatoes.
"THIS IS YUMMY!" Jasmine's face lit up before stuffing her face.
Kyle watched with glee as she devoured the food in front of her, pretending to compete with her.
But she finished her food in no time, Kyle had asked for a smaller potion due to her size but she exceeded his expectation.
Jasmine's stomach was swollen and it didn't take up to three minutes before she was fast asleep.
"Poor thing, she must have been tired," Kyle thought to himself as she laid her head on his lap and Kyle was scared to move.
He didn't want to wake her up from her slumber and decided to stay still until she woke up.
