Thus, most Legends relying on their own strength to become Ascenders do not accept Divine Status from a living Divine; for them, only a dead Divine is a good Divine.

As for Natural Demigods, there’s no choice, because their power does not come from their own effort but is bestowed by another Divine.

This means that from the moment a Natural Demigod is born, they represent that Divine’s will, can be seen as that Divine’s embodiment on Earth, and even upon eventual ascension, cannot break free from such subordination.
