Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Treasure! Obtain a Large Amount of Relics!

...
Good heavens, Lin Yue exclaimed in amazement.
No way, this can’t be true.
This is a massive win!
He was immersed in the thrill of acquiring such a bountiful stash!
Who would’ve thought that changing direction would get him so many things? The Secret Realm is truly the greatest!
Identifying sixty points of survival points yielded so many great things; it absolutely wasn’t a loss!
However, after quickly calming down, he also pondered.
The ability to acquire so many things was partly due to luck and also because the convenience store was originally well-sealed and undamaged.
Like the hotel they encountered last time, it had clearly been turned into a nest by freak bugs; the ground floor was a complete mess, mostly corroded by water and moisture.
"Bai, how’s it outside?" Lin Yue glanced around, confirmed there was nothing else worth taking, and picked up the Iron Spear again.
"Chirp~" Bai didn’t have any special reaction but rather seemed put off by the dust-filled environment.
Lin Yue turned back to look at the now-chaotic convenience store with not much left, taking a deep breath.
There was still less than half of the Storage Space remaining, so he could continue to fill it up with more items.
Should he go scavenging elsewhere?
He strolled outside with his Iron Spear.
The street was deathly silent.
The sunlight wasn’t harsh; gray clouds were gathering as though it might rain.
In the distance, a muffled rumble, possibly thunder, could be heard.
He looked towards the store next to the convenience store; the signs were almost all decayed and deformed, and the text was mostly faded.
The cars on the road were few, almost all covered in dust and rust, and quite a few had crashed into each other or into the roadside buildings or stores.
It felt as though time had stopped at the last moment.
Probably because almost everyone had crossed over to the Otherworld at the same time.
However, Lin Yue had some questions about the people who were transported later. Were they brought over together, left on Earth first, or "stored" for seven days before being released?
With no one beside Lin Yue, he couldn’t confirm this point.
Fortunately, there was no one.
If the system had sent someone he hadn’t seen in twenty years due to blood relations, he would have found it impossible to accept.
As he approached a car that had crashed into the store’s glass, Lin Yue touched the broken glass on the ground. freeweɓnøvel.com

Efficiency is low.
Lin Yue frowned, stopped his actions, and looked around, then walked down a small alley.
He saw a residential-style doorway, with a few pieces of regular glass instead of acrylic glass.
[You have acquired Broken Glass (Large Piece)]
[You...]
This is more like it.
The reason he wanted broken glass so much was to add more defensive features to his shelter’s perimeter wall.
Rumble...
The thunder drew closer.
After gathering quite a bit of broken glass, Lin Yue, carrying the Iron Spear, returned to the main road and looked toward the distant red and white iron tower.
After finding some tires, usable batteries, and engines from a car, he wandered around.
But realized that most of the storefronts along the street held nothing useful, mostly small tourist souvenirs or cosmetics completely useless after time’s corrosion.
This was understandable, as after all, this area could be considered a tourist spot.
As the sky gradually darkened and the rumbling continued, Lin Yue decided not to linger around and to finish the main task first.
Returning to the main road, he glanced left and right, suddenly noticing several large pits in the road far off in the direction he hadn’t paid attention to before.
"Road collapse?" He took out the Sighting Scope for a closer look but couldn’t see anything.
However, the buildings near the pits had also collapsed quite a lot.
"Maybe it was some gas explosion or something... maybe."
Thinking this way, he retraced his steps along the yarn trail, swiftly returning to the Ancient Secret Realm Gate.
This time, he followed the previous path, heading towards the hotel direction, while closely monitoring Bai’s reactions.
However, until they reached the previously visited restroom, nothing happened.
A little uneasy, Lin Yue climbed onto the restroom roof, readied the Steel Repeating Crossbow, and peered through the Sighting Scope.
Constantly adjusting the knob to magnify the distant view, Lin Yue cautiously observed the hotel direction.
The air was eerily quiet.
Lin Yue could even hear Bai breathing.
"Chirp..." Bai softly chirped from below. Lin Yue glanced down as suddenly the muffled thunder reached his ears.
But this thunder...
Seemed different from the continuous rumbling sounds heard before.
An illusion?
Lightning flashed across the sky; as Lin Yue climbed down the ladder, he noticed a raindrop fall on the wood armor on his arm.
Then more raindrops began to patter down.
Lin Yue caught the raindrops with his hand.
No sensation, apparently not corrosive like the previous blizzards.
But the sky was becoming gloomier, the light dimmer, and the rumbling continued.
"Need to speed up." Lin Yue quickly moved in that direction, with Bai following close behind.
The rapidly retreating scenery on both sides became more familiar, and soon he reached the woods beside the hotel.
The air was filled with a stench of rot; holding the Sighting Scope, he looked at the hotel, its rooftop, and the distant iron tower.
Neither the Monster Winged Dragons nor the bugs showed up.
"Bai, how’s it going?"
"Chirp." Bai still showed no reaction.
Lin Yue licked his dry lips, tore open two pieces of tissue, and stuffed them into his nostrils while moving quickly toward where he remembered the Monster Winged Dragons’ bodies were.
They were still there.
