Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!-Chapter 669 - 679: Meng Shui’s Doubts[2]
"Tell me something, sect master Chi Zu: do you know anything about this matter and know who is the culprit behind it all?" Elder Meng Shui looked the man in the eyes and directly asked the question she came to ask.
Silence!
Chi Zu fell silent hearing her.
Everyone present in the area paused.
They all looked at the female elder as if she had grown a pair of balls between her legs. Even the Arhat standing over Chi Zu's shoulder looked at her with a bit of admiration and a lot of concern.
"I heard the same things that I just told you. And why would I know about who did it?" Feeling Chi Zu's chilling gaze fixed on her, Meng Shui did not panic; instead, she pressed on even harder.
"You know I was the person who was in charge of investigating the incident, and the lord of that city had a lot of interesting things to tell me.
He found the traces of the infiltrator in his territory, but just when he was about to catch up to him, it all blew up.
Of course I did not take his words for the absolute truth and did some digging on my own."
She paused, allowing the sect leader of the blood fiend sect to absorb every word she spoke.
"But sadly everything was blown, and they found the bodies of one of the victims, dried up, drained of blood." Her eyes narrowed, and her tone sharpened.
"Hmph! You think I don't know what you are doing?" Chi Zu snorted in disdain, "You found no such thing."
"You just want to throw mud at my sect so it gives you hypocrite sect the right to wipe my sect out."
"Is this how you wiped out the Living Dead Sect?" The smug look of his resurfaced; he stepped forward, closing the distance between them, ignoring the tense monk beside him. "Just make them the scapegoat of what happened, and you get a legitimate reason to wipe them out."
"And now you are doing the same thing with me?" The distance between him and Elder Ming Shui was only a foot. "You want to wipe out my Blood Fiend Sect?!"
Elder Lei Ji seemed to be in a state of panic. He appeared behind Elder Meng to show his silent support.
The other Arhats also stepped closer, their eyes narrowed and their auras steady.
"GO AHEAD! Why don't you try?!"
"Do you think I, your grandpa blood demon Chi Zu, fear your retaliation?"
He threw his head back and laughed like a maniac; his laughter echoed throughout Jadebone Peak.
Yet, even now, Elder Meng appeared as composed as ever.
"You are right." Everyone looked at her with shocked looks on their faces.
All of them wonder, why would she say that?
Even Chi Zu was caught off guard.
But her next words clarified their doubts.
"We never found anybody like that." She held her ground with a steady voice. "And it is also the truth that we eliminated the threat that was the Living Dead Sect."
"Defiling the bodies of the dead and playing with the natural order of life and death warranted their death for the stability of the empire, and it just so happened that one of the spies of their sect was found within the Great Expanse City."
"He was working in the city lord's mansion. Going undetected for a long time, he created a secret chamber in his living quarters that held some irrefutable evidence about his involvement in the incident."
Though confused inwardly, Chi Zu kept a smirk on his face and asked. "What? Are you coming clean about your hypocrisy?"
Elder Meng chuckled lightly along with the man and said, "No, what I am saying is that even though everything I have told you is truth, these are the secrets that our sect had buried on purpose, and no one else but the higher-ups of the sect have access to them—"
Elder Ming paused instantly; she did not have to continue, as everyone could guess what she wanted to say.
Just with her words, she managed to wipe the smirk off Chi Zu's face.
The air around them tensed, and the look in Chi Zu's eyes turned cold. He looked at Meng Shui as if he was looking at a dead woman.
"So what?" He spoke briskly, "Do you think our sect has no method to gather information?"
"Be clear with what you want to say, woman. I don't have the patience and time to play your mind games."
"Is this all that the one of three greatest sects is capable of? Throwing around accusations without any evidence."
"Maybe it's time one of the demonic sects enters the rank of the greatest sect."
The aura around his body rippled, and the ground beneath his feet creaked a little. Meng Shui and Lei Ji could feel the weight of his power.
"I am merely stating things as they are, and you are the one who said that he has no idea who was responsible for what within that city." Meng Shui spoke evenly, showing no fear on his face.
"There is no need to be so agitated. I just came to talk with the senior and had no intentions of throwing any accusations." She let out her own aura to hold her ground against the blood demon.
Then, without saying anything, she turned around and walked to the side along with Lei Ji, who said nothing from the side.
Chi Zu narrowed his eyes dangerously as he looked at their back.
"You want to do something, Chi Zu?"
Hearing the little expectant tone in the voice, Chi Zu looked over his shoulder at the monk, clicked his tongue in annoyance, and walked to a corner where he was standing before.

Inside the Domain,
Surrounded by four walls, two figures looked around with a contemplative look on their faces. Their hands moved across the surface of the wall, trying to find some clues. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
All of a sudden, one of them stops and turns to look at the other.
"I found a way to leave this place." Noah suddenly stated, looking at the bored look on Elyisa's face.
"What?" She perked up hearing his voice and looked at Noah with an eager look on her face.
"Step aside." He walked towards the wall she was leaning on and said softly. Once she moved, Noah placed his hand on it, and an image appeared on the surface.
He looked at the image and took his hand back an inch…
